Yeah, this is weird. This is the second major event that advertised a tribute to MJ, and then cancelled it at the last minute. Hmm. Something fishy going on? There must be a reason... speculation time! :lol:

Its funny that was probably the most exciting performance in
the whole show and they cut it - seems they could have left
it in and just cut out the tribute part .. I bet Ne-yo wasnt happy
about them cutting him out of the televised version.
 
Michael is cooking up his comeback.. He's not worried about these things right now.

he isnt going to use the merits of Thriller for his comeback
he been there done that - he is going to come back with
a BANG and new material like he always does ..

i expect more from Neyo. i thought he's a better singer than Chris Brown but comparing his cover for TLIML to Chris Brown's Rock with you, it isn't so.
 
That still does't explain why the tributes were not presented. Does MJ have to be there? Can't they present a tribute whether he's there or not?
 
There is nothing fishy going on here. What is going on here is that these awards shows are aware that Michael and Sony are celebrating the 25th anniversary of Thriller so they made offers to Michael to appear on their shows to be honored for the album....not because they care so much about Michael......but because they wanted to capitalize on his success....get ratings for their shows. At least that is how I feel about the motives of the Grammies. As far as Debra Lee goes....I believe this woman genuinely admires Michael and would have been very excited to have him on her show. But Michael declined their offers because he wants his first performance to be highly anticipated and linked to his new music. This is exactly what i think is going on here. Michael is not ready to get on a stage. He is saving everything for the new album.

Can you imagine the excitement that is gonna go on next year when Michael appears on the Grammies, BET, his tv special he is planning and anywheres else he wants to appear? It is gonna be spectacular.

It was alright. Wasn't horrible, wasn't amazing. He was trying to hard and didn't seem to flow off of his tongue or something idk.

I didn't think it was great, but it was nice and it was alright. I keep thinking that Ne-yo has a far better voice than he actually sounds and I just wish he'd use it. He doesn't let go- he holds back quite a bit, and I can understand ilovemjjforever's comment. :)

The truth is, the only person who can do justice to a Michael Jackson song is Michael Jackson. :)

I think MJ is definitely behind these cancels and i think it's for good reason. T25 has had a HUGE success, and MJ hasn't ruined anything by not participating in these shows. The real stuff should saved for the new album and I'm sure MJ wants to keep it that way.

Ne-Yo did a wonderful job. But all the way through the performance I just couldn't help thinking how awesome it would've been if it was Michael singing that song. C'mon Mike, step out of the shadows and come into our world.
