The Top-selling Albums In 2008

It's amazing how well Amy's music is selling..

I mean her album 'Back To Black' was released OCTOBER 2006.. and it's STILL the number 1 spot for 2008.

Her album has sold nearly 10 million..

Now this is HUGE..

If someone like Amy Winehouse can sell near 10 million. And have the best selling album for nearly 2 years..

Just imagine what an album by MICHAEL JACKSON could do..

Her album is the biggest album in a while..

Yeah but Amy only sold near 7 million copies which is not so amazing that i expected regarding the hype around it .

its going to be tough.

mariah's coming this week, then madonna.[/QUOTE

Why are you talking about them , Madonna has never been a threat for michael , a big succes for Madonna is 10 million copies and for a new material , see michael with a very old material keep on selling like new materials , and remember NUMBER ONES a compil with of very old songs that EVERYBODY know and all the more during the trial , sold 7 million copies almost like a Madonna's new material , i think Madonna would like to sell her "Best off" like michael does with his eternal re-re-released CDS .

Which is a big succes for Madonna is a flop for michael , INVINCIBLE sold 10 million copies (6 million in 3 months ) and the world screamed that was a big flop , "Confession on the Dance floor" has not passed the 10 millon copies 3 years later but the world sreams it is a big succes , that's ridiculous !!!

TH25 is almost 2 million and at the end of year will reach 4/5 millon , i don't even think Madonna's new material will sell so much more than the old TH25 maybe between 8/9 million but not more .

Definitely ,even after all the allegations michael Jackson has 2X more potential of sales than Madonna , you 'll see michael's new material will sell 2X more than Madonna 's .

8 million - and yes, she lived up to the hype and more. appreciate the talent, not the chart positions or sales (even though she's dominating those).

I appreciate her talent but here is a topic of sales so i speak about sales .
And sorry but unfortunately the sales and chart positions are important like it or not .

I think her sales are not so big than i expected all the more the album was realeased almost 2 years ago that's my opinion .

If michael don't sell 7 million in 1 year people would say it is a flop , that's so ridiculous .

Hmmm! I would love to see “nowadays” how the likes of Madonna and other legends who can re-release an album 25 years later and still have it on top of the charts…. !!

Thriller is a 25 years album with only one new bonus track and few remixes, on top of the charts!! Again!! This is mind blowing!! The only person who can pull it off is the one and only living legend on the planet…

What’s gonna happen when MJ releases a new album!

Thanks for the news.

I agree. Do you have the most recent and accurate sales figures for Invincible? I read somewhere on the Internet that it is edging 20 mil

hmm... id on't think so , i think near 12 million the cut of the promotion was too much sudden ...but hey the less saling album of mike is invincible , but for Madonna it is one of her best saling , michael cannot contend with only 10 million .

figues from sony in the summer of 2002 stated 11 mill. theres no way in hell it has got anywhere near 20 compair it with history which sold around 20 mill.alot of fans doubt the 11 mill figure let alone anything above it.

^^ I also doubt the 20 mil figure compared to HIStory, I am interested to know the most recent sales figures. 11/12 mil is not bad Imagine if it got the proper exposure!

sony have not recertified most of mjs albums for many years some over a decade so i doubt there is any recent figure except the 2002 one after all it didnt sell much after that anyway

and by the way, let me be the sh*t stirrer (excuse my French).. here..

there are some folks that need to be eating crow.. in regards to this T25 project..

they didn't open up their minds .. and gave this project NO chance.. and now 2months later... who's Bad

ya Amy's album did not sell an AMAZING #.. but, the fact the album is still #1 after this long is something big..

In that aspect is what I ment buy huge.. Not the sales..

I see Michaels album selling around 18 million..

I would be satisfied if his charts were simular to Amy's though..

almost 2 years running at #1.. ??!?!? that is not something normal..
