Chris Brown "Shawty Get Loose", what's his game?

Did you guys see THE Chris Brown video for "Shawty Get Loose"? Nothing wrong with tributes, but this is complete piracy with no other point but to copy, copy, copy. What is his game, you think? I think it is one thing to take some elements, but this?
And this, after having seen him live at London VMAs, from a guy who lacks a lot, to do this?

Yeah it is so old! Wasn't this released in 1995?

Seriously though I thought the TLC video was bad, but this is so much more of a copycat...

Homage is one thing, but when every performance you do is dedicated to your Idol, that is OBSESSION!

Michael paid homage to a lot of the greats and it was cool to see where he received his inspiration, but he never (to my knowledge) continually copy the dance, video, and image of his idols. Usher and Missy Elliot pay homage to Michael, but Chris Brown needs a new outlet...

I am glad in a way...

I mean, think about it SCREAM. They use to say that Mike is relevant only for Thriller work, but then young acts and bands copy cut a 95s video, from History album, this is something! ( TLC, Chirs Brown, even Puff Diddy in that video with Christina Aguilera is inspiered by it )This proves in a way, what liars they are..... People follow Mike, copy Mike even now, for post Thriller acts!

What's wrong with paying hommage to the artist who's been the most influential in his fledgling career? Michael did it too, maybe not as obviously as Chris Brown, but looking at Michael's artistry you know where he got his inspiration from from the artists he admired. By the age of 10 he was able to imitate his hero James Brown in his dancing. He also had lots of respect and awe for artists such as Fred Astaire, Sammy Davis Jr, Charlie Chaplin, Marcel Marceau and many more. These legends pretty paved the way for Michael who admired them for their great talent and excellence in what they did; and he's always wanted to emulate them.

He watched the greats do their thing and drew from that do create his own magic. Of course, he didn't just copy and paste, but he inspired himself from a wide and diverse array of gifted performers and took a little bit from each of them and incorporated a litte bit of everybody's stuff into his work. Some of the artists he inspired himself from are famous and some are less famous, but bottom line you can see their influence all over Michael's dancing.

Michael didn't invent all of his moves, he took from the greatests, perfected what already existed and popularized it. The Moonwalk existed before Michael was even born.

Note the entire theme of the setting, the scene where a coin is inserted in the jukebox before the music starts, Fred Astaire's costume, certain dance moves (espcially at 3:25-3:28 and 4:29-4:31) all of which have been an inspiration to Michael for Smooth Criminal and other video clips.

So please stop berating young artists like Chris Brown, Justin Timberlake and the like when they pay tribute to such an icon as Michael.

No, you see..."homage" is taking maybe one...or two...songs, or performances, or music videos, to pay tribute to your "idol", or someone you're a huge fan of/has influenced you.

But when you're Chris Brown, "homage" goes to a whole 'nother level.

Chris Brown talks about Michael in magazine and radio interview after interview, he performs at the very LEAST, one of Michael's dance moves in every video, he performs Michael's moves on stage, he sings Michael's songs on stage, he wears Michael's signature "outfit" (fedora, suit, and glove) on stage (while performing one of his songs), he's performed "Thriller" at a music award show, he's sampled a video (like you see with lil' mama)...I wonder if he's actually sampled one of Michael's songs yet for his record.

If not, that's the next step.

I don't think Chris Brown can really sing or dance, so i don't know whats so great about him? Lack of real artists i suppose. Overrated.

I never seen the video though :p Never cared to honestly.

just go to the 'shawty Get Loose' youtube page and mention how they are heavily inspired by MJ and Janets Scream.. and u know some ppl will check it out.. ;)


don't say 'ripp off' that will turn ppl off.. just say 'insipred'.. It will get people to see SCREAM..

use it for ur own advantage..

sooo verry true... i cant even think of chris [cl]own w/o thihking of a mj impression....he's soo overrated...most ppl dont even know chris brown for chris brown....a lot of ppl know him becuz he's a famous mj fan who imitates him the way a little kid imitates his idol...
 
Chris Brown is just a high paid impersonator, and not a very good one at that. The sooner we all realize it, the easier it will be on all of us, lol.

My personal opinion is that people get a little bent out of shape over artist paying homage to Michael Jackson and label them copy cats and plagerists. C'mon now, I am flattered by their adoration as they have become a peice of Michael Jackson. It is such an honor to see others pay him tribute rather than critcize and mistreat him! Some of ya'll are rediculously irrational.
