Mods not sure where this belongs but I just wish all fans
could here Michael's wise words and vision to help educate
parents and adults on how to start the process of healing
ourselves the children and the world.

On March 6 2001,
Michael Jackson spoke to students at Oxford University in London,
to promote his new initiative; Heal the Kids.

Develpoed by Heal the World Foundation, Heal The Kids was launched in year 2000.

Heal The Kids was set up to develop a campaign to help parents and adults around the world to educate them on the importance of reprioritizing their lives in order to bring children into the main focus in order to imbue them with the love and devotion which they so badly need and to stop the cycle of neglect. To also give all at risk children more support and consideration from all sectors of society.

this speech is soooooooo good, i remember the first time i read it, i cried. I think every fan should hear this, in order to get a real since of who MJ is. This is REAL right here.

You are so right about this being REAL. Right here was what made me a TRUE BLUE Michael Jackson fan. I could soooo relate to what he was saying and yes it made be cry the first time I read it. It is so heartfelt and beautiful and I was very mad at the media and myself for not hearing about this in 2001. (i believe this was before 9/11) not sure. cause I could understand not hearing anything if it was around 9/11 time. More people NEED to hear this.

there was aprograme showed in the uk that followed the students union at oxford. they filmed when mj was there. showed them organising the event. showed some students talking before the speech laughing etc. then followed some into a side room to watch it as they couldnt get into the main hall. at the end the room was silent and u could see some had been crying. the same ones who had laughing and joking before hand. it was a great speech and many were impressed.

oh wow i had been looking for this on youtube for ages but could never find it.
THANKS!

That's heavy. If you have any emotion in you at all, any feeling, I would think Michael's words that day would move you to feel compassion and sympathy for him, if not empathy. Like J5Master said, that was real, and it showed what an incredible person Michael truly is. I wish it had been caught on film, maybe it was, but I've never seen any clips from it, just the audio. But I'm glad we have that, you get a greater sense of the impact the speech had when you hear it delivered. I always say this about Michael, but I see him as an emotional genius, he's just so in tune with that kind of thing.

im sure it was filmed either by oxford or MJ u know he films everything.

this was in March 2001, Michael was on crutches at this cos he had broken a bone in his foot. He insisted on flying from America to London for this , even though he was in great pain for most of the week he was in London.

Oh wow I never actually heard this speech.

How beautiful! I teared up a bit. What a gentle soul he is...I just want to squeeze him! :D

That was so beautiful. Thanks so much for posting it.

That man is full of knowledge, and his words have more truth and common-sense, than anything. You can learn so much from someone who has went through so much. God bless him for sharing his pain but also humbleness, with those of us who are still trying to heal ourselves, and our child-hood.

So powerful. You can tell this man has been affected by his past. I'm so thankful that he now feels at peace with it. We should all learn from his experience. ^_^

thanx you for posting :huggy:
yes i love this very much too .

Do you remember the name of the programme?

and after listening to something like this, u gotta ask urself...IS this just an image? IS this a ploy? IS this just something that MJ conjured up in his genius PR managing mind? Highly doubtful. THis is truly a glimpse of MJ, THE MAN, himself.

I know the programme you are talking about, I have it on tape somewhere in a box in Ireland!! I just remember one scene at the end, when its all over, and Michael has left Oxford. The guy in charge of the organising was totally exhausted, both emotionally and physically and theres this shot of him leaning against a wall smoking a cigarette trying to calm down!!

I know! Sometimes I wonder, is this guy real?

But I know he's so genuine--a truly special person! I love him! :D

Is the Heal the Kids foundation still up and running? I checked out the website (googled it) and it wasn't up anymore. That speech was really wonderful to hear. I don't know why I put off listening to that till now. I think I may have read parts of it or quotes from it before but this is really something.

a must read or listening to every MJJ's fan....
as I've already said so many times before
these are words of wisdom, true wisdom
