I liked it as well but was very shocked! it sounded so different so used to the intro beat.

me personally i think a few acts did very well on the songs trying to make it their own. every contestant had their own style so if they tried to do adlibs like mj they would have messed up the song totally.
everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but if every singer danced and sang like mj how boring the music world would be. it was Michael Jackson week, at least their paying homage to mj, apart from the stupid sly comment like '*****'

And what the hell was that cracked bitch talking about "Heal The World" is a bad song. My ass, whore.

I think you need to calm yourself down.

That is a seriously over the top display of anger and abuse just because Danni doesn't like Heal the world.

Get some perspective.

Lol this was the craziest night ever! Just watching it reinforced how talented MJ is and how special. Not one of them came anywhere near his ability. In fact scott singing She's out of my life just brought it home to me. MJ sang that with such emotion its unbelievable, but Scott's had no emotion at all and the silly judges telling him how good it was just made me shake my head- ditto for the emotionless Ben from Eoghan.

JLs are good though and I liked TWYMMF the best.

Conclusion: No one can sing his songs...and do them justice. Thats just the way it is. He's too good. They're his songs and his alone..

Oh and Girls Aloud were dreadful. This show needs a revamp (and some originality) fast.

And I just dont get Simon sometimes- the cheap shots at MJ whilst he dedicates a whole night to him is kinda contradictory. Danni saying Heal the world is corny just tells me how jaded she is and how afraid she is of pure human emotion..

But on the other side, it was great that there was the excitement everyone felt from MJ week...its so obvious to me how much people love his music and it made me happy to see that he means a lot to EVERYONE.

Sure some of them are absolutely terrible  But I think it was a great night! The important thing is it reminded ppl of how awesome he is. And I heard that Man in the mirror is now @ #63 and #65 on Itunes chart in UK :wild: :wild: That's what's important :D.

Ah, get over it. I was just having a laugh. She's still an idiot for thinking that though.

Please accept my appoligies, i've just re-read your post and realised how amusing it was, sometimes i forget just how much of a laugh calling someone a whore is.....silly me.

It's a joke dude, I don't really mean it. I was trying to make people laugh at my word choice. Sorry your so sensitive over this particular issue. If I had known you were, I wouldn't have said jack all.

And your sarcasm is as lame an attempt at a joke as you deem mine to be.

I was quite pleased with my sarcasm, some would argue its the lowest form of wit but i've always been a fan.

Just out of interest, and i'm not picking a keyboard fight with you or anyone in particular, its just that reading this whole thread makes me wonder why it is that lots of MJ fans, of which i am very much one, are so defensive of any criticism of his music.

I'm a huge fan, and have been for many, many years but it doesn't bother me that some, like Danni minogue, made a negative remark about a Michael Jackson song. Don't get me wrong i would much rather have heard remarks along the lines of what a genius artist MJ is but it just doesn't register with me.

Thinking about it.....i'd guess its because as Michael Jackson fans we have to endure people in the press, friends, work colleagues etc making jokes and general negative remarks about him that we get a little defensive.

I get defensive over songs which I feel don't get the credit they deserve. There's several songs of Michael's which I don't like. Some being popular ones among fans, like "Whatever Happens". I just can't stand that song. But Michael's more recent work rarely gets the credit it deserves and people often judge it not based on it's artistic merit but on their taste alone. There's aritits and songs which I personally don't find appealing but can admit are good or legitimate. I don't feel Michael gets that treatment at all. People rarely even acknowledge he did anything after "Thriller". And it makes me mad when people hate on songs of his that have a positive message just because they're embarrassed by the emotion of it, which I find is what typically drives people to hate on songs like "Heal The World".

Some were good, others were shit, wasn't as bad as I thought it would be.

That pretty much says it all

I haven't read the whole of this thread but I thought it was quite ironic that the Spanish lady, I think her name is Laura White, chose not to do the song she chose in Spanglish because I Just Can't Stop Loving did have such a version. Funny that she picked that particular song and then did not take full advantage of it especially as she has been encouraged by Simon to do so.

I thought she did a good job 7 didn't deserve to be in the top two (she probably ended up there b/c Simon said she would. I the public listen to the judges too much instead of making up their own minds sometimes). I also thought Alexandra did the best job of the night out of all of them, though I did think her version was too much like Mariah Carey's. Oh, & JLS was another highlight of the night. Diana did OK w/Man in the Mirror but overall I don't like her style of singing. She reminds me of Alex from Fame Academy in 2003 who won that reality show but did not go past being a one hit wonder. She too had a hickup/folksy style.

Why did the host have to call Michael Jack0? Is it so hard for these people to actually say the name Jackson?
