i love what this thread has turned into!
we should make a new thread dedicated to michael and the ladies.

Michael has dated Stephanie Mills, she is a black lady. I think he also had a big crush on Diana Ross. I love black men(I'm actually an admirer of many races), as you can see from my avatar...whew!!

"He gave me his number, & we started talking everyday--long drawn-out conversations that sometimes got so boring I would hand over the receiver to my friend Esme Gray. Michael would just keep on, thinking he was talking to me. His usual subject was sex."
I am the only one that is envious of this statement? Boy, where is a time machine when you need it.

You're very subtle aren't you?
God knows what sort of ideas you'll put into Michael's mind!

She "opened up" about their relationship, long ago, this is the complete, outtake from her book:

"I met him (MJ) at the On the Rox, the club Lou Adler & Jack Nicholson opened upstairs from the Roxy on the Sunset Strip. Michael was around 17 at the time, about 5 years older than me, & he seemed very sheltered & fearful & lonely--not at all what you'd expect a world-renowned performer to be. As I recall, he didn't even know how to drive a car."
"He gave me his number, & we started talking everyday--long drawn-out conversations that sometimes got so boring I would hand over the receiver to my friend Esme Gray. Michael would just keep on, thinking he was talking to me. His usual subject was sex. At 12 I didn't have much to say about sex--all I knew was that it went on, pretty steadily, in my father's room next to mine. But Michael was intensely curious about anything, everything sexual, though in an incredibly sweet & innocent way. "He was a huge star, but it seemed he barely even dated & knew little about life. He once came to my house & asked to come upstairs b/c he'd never been in a girl's bedroom before. He sat on the bed, & we kissed very briefly, but it was terribly awkward. For all my passionate crushes on people like Dustin Hoffman, I was just 12 & not at all ready for a real-life encounter. So I said, 'I can't.' Michael, who was sweating profusely, seemed as intimidated as I was. He jumped up nervously & said, 'Uh, gotta go.'
That's the closest I ever got to Michael, which is why I'm amazed by his recent claim on national TV that I'd seduced him but he was too shy to carry it through. I absolutely adored Michael--as a friend--& I admire him to this day. I believe that he fell in love w/ me. I'm told that he wrote the song "She's Out of My Life" on his album Off the Wall for me. What an honor.
At the time of the supposed seduction, I was barely pubescent, & what I'd seen of sex so far was unappealling & gross. It may have been Michael's fantasy that I'd seduce him--and it's a little sad that he cast himself as failing, even in his dream--but it just didn't happen. "What we did do together was go to concerts. I remember seeing Queen w/ Michael at the Forum in L.A., which is interesting, considering his androgyny now. He came w/ me & my father to Hugh Hefner's mansion, where I think Hefner's menagerie--monkeys & peacocks & other exotic birds-gave him the idea for Neverland. Michael would hang out & jam sometimes w/ my brother Griffin...Griffin was like a musical savant; he played the piano, guitar, & drums beautifully. Michael would play drums, & outside on the deck, my father would be boxing to the rhythm. "Unfortunately, my friendship w/ Michael came to an abrupt ending. He'd played the Scarecrow in The Wiz, the urban remake of the Wizard of Oz, which starred Diana Ross as Dorothy. For the film's premiere, Michael invited me to be his date. I asked my dad, who didn't care one way or another if I went, but my talent agency was dead set against it. I was told, in exactly these words: 'You can't go to a premiere with a ni**er.'
Hollywood!
That upset me tremendously. Had I been old enough--or had I the parental support--I could have stood my ground & insisted 'Oh yes, I can.' But my father was too disengaged to help me think it through. So, without telling Michael the reason, I turned him down.
He was devastated. After that Michael didn't speak to me for years, until I ran into him at the Helmsley Palace in New York. For old times' sake, we caught a concert together, Kool and the Gang at Madison Square Garden. Michael dressed in full costume for the event--coming in blackface, w/ a pasted-on beard--the whole nine yards. But things were never the same between us."

thanks for posting that.

didn't stephanie mills say michael isn't attracted to her type anymore.. as in to say hes ''not attracted to dark skinned women? huh weird,.. when she was with him.

Seven- were we watching the same clip?
I saw lust in those eyes. If that girl had been calm and no one else had been there...hot damn.

The hug clip right? then i agree, i doubt he would say ''more than a hug'' to a girl he didnt find attractive. i remember seeing that new york signing, and michaels eyes don't lie, he was looking at the attractive women a certain way and everyone else differently. when he sees a cute girl theres a certain attention he pays to it or in what he says. i dont think its only fan appreciation.
im glad he liked blondes too though, from this video and the signing where he got that girls number, cuz for a long time i thought he only liked the diana ross, tatiana thumbtzen look.

Very cool to see those videos. I had never seen that one of him and Diana Ross, very funny and simply very cool. Alotta peopple think 'MJ and girls? Nah..' but he simply was very keen on his privacy, and thats why the public just didnt really know much about it. Good on him.

Staffordshire Bullterrier, I'm sorry but because you have seen this type of behavior (I think I know the type of behavior you are talking about) in black comedies, I wouldn't call it the "typical" attitude/response of black males. And that type of reaction does not begin and end with black men.

Secondly, Shamonee, You've stated "I don't think black guys are attractive in any shape or form, I've never found them attractive!", Although that's YOUR preference and or opinion, I suppose you were not attracted to and or found MJ attractive? I mean he IS/was a black male, or you must be attracted to the fact that he had vitiligo and had to even out his skin tone? Or was MJ the exception? Help me to understand you (No disrespect).

You've stated "and he reminded me of one so badly there..." I must know who is the "one" you are referring to?

Though this thread is not meant for this kind of discussion, and keep in mind I'm in no way attacking anyone, HOWEVER I cannot help but to express how I feel to the aforementioned statements. While you are claiming that these statements are not meant to be offensive...the perhaps inadvertent implications attached to your statements actually does come off as offensive to black males (including Michael Jackson).

I cannot seem to edit my post.....I wanted to add...

I love this thread, thanks to the person who posted the Tatum O'neal article in its entirety. Seeing MJ in all these vids made me smile so much today, considering the past 3 weeks :-(. I just LOVE the Diana Ross vid!!!! Thanks yall, for making me smile! Love you MJ!

i was wondering this too

First off, I have to say I LOVE this thread, haha. It's the only thing that's giving me a laugh right now. You ladies are great :lmao:

You have to remember though that Michael played to the cameras and to his audiences VERY well. He knew cameras were rolling when he said the "more than a hug" bit and I think he was going off adrenaline at that point. Screaming fans... a documentary being filmed... just the whole scenario. I don't think he actually found her attractive in that way. I mean he literally caught a 2 second glimpse of her when she said that, and she wasn't THAT attractive. Maybe Michael was feeling exceptionally horny that night.

i hate to bring up the race issue, but did he ever date or hit on black women? i never see this anywhere

The love interests in his music videos were predominantly black.

Maybe she preferred MJ better from Bad on.

I agree, this is what any good performer thrives on.

that's also an interesting point about his love "interests" in music videos.

Listen up, ladehhhhs:

“Michael Jackson was a woman lover, trust! Dude gets it in. I have only once told a close friend that I just couldn’t believe how he gets it in. He is a real dude. He’s human. He has a child life in him. He deserves to be a baller and a player sometimes.” — Super-producer Teddy Riley who worked with Michael on his huge Dangerous and Invincible albums.

You heard the man.... is that quote responsible for your 'angry' mood?!

No its not!!! why would it be? . I just asked a question, if you don't want to answer it than that's fine. i was just wondering what "gets in" means thats all. there is no need for me to put "angry" as my mood for that..lmao seriosuly

I was actually REALLY kidding about the angry mood, haha.

I don't know what it means.. maybe it literally means "gets it in".

mmmhmmmm.... I am dying at Riley's choice of words..."gets it in" lol:D

I agree. I just didn't see in his eyes any real, proper interest above him thinking 'cute girl'.
