Sorry if this is in wrong forum, I had to guess.

How do your spouses or dating life react to Michael?
I'm asking because of course my entire room is covered with MJ memorabilia and I'm honestly worried about how potential dates would react to this. :mello: not that I am ashamed of loving Michael. of course not! But I don't want any future possibilities to get wierded out by insane love for the man and forget me. I'm not going to get rid or take down any of my stuff, heck no, but what am I supposed to do, prevent people from entering my room? :*****:

Lol, don't be ashamed of it, it's your passion. My boyfriend likes MJ alot, he's looking to buy posters himself.

^Like I mentioned, Im not ashamed of it, nor am I going to take down any of my stuff either, If I ever find someone who loves MJ it wont be a problem, but I mean if I meet someone who happens to not really care and is I dunno, wierd about my liking him?

My lovely husband has just bought me a beautiful canvas print of Michael and has just put it up on our lounge wall :)
He too is devastated over Michael

Well you know, the important thing is that the person shouldn't be disrespectful, even if they don't have a great passion for him. I have had a boyfriend who was way too obsessed with football, and would talk about it all day. I don't care much for football, but I wasn't rude to tell him that it's crap or whatever. If that person is willing to respect you, then he should repsect all the thinks you like/love.

yup, if they are willing to respect what you like even if they don't like it, then its fine. My little cousin is obsessed over Jonas Brothers and my aunt takes her to EVERYTHING! My aunt hates going and stuff, but she loves doing it to see a smile on my cousins face. So, if you find a guy that makes fun of you or doesn't like it, well then next! lol because that dude doesn't care about you. Now, i'm wondering for those married members out there, how do your spouses feel about you drooling over MJ. lol i mean like in my case, i don;t have a boyfriend, but evertime i meet a guy or go out on a date i mentally compare him to Mj. its like, ugh ur not as sweet as him= Turn off lmao lol =) or your smile isn't like his =( lol

Me and my husband both are Michael mega fans. We even met at the trial! LOL We both cried and held eachother for hours when the news came that he.. we have pics of him framed and hung on the wall. MJ is a "must" in this house!

He likes and respects Michael very much, and as long as he doesn't catch me drooling and behaving like a hypnotized a** (which happens pretty often:scratch: by the way) he stays cool.:wild:

I understand why you would be a little distressed about their reaction lol.

Sometimes I worry that my love for Michael might make my boyfriend jealous. I think my love for Michael is deeper than it is for my boyfriend but that is because I have a longer "history" with Michael. I have invested so many more feelings into Michael. He also serves a different role than my boyfriend; role model. So I think my boyfriend understands this when I explain it to him.

But I understand how you feel. I can trust my boyfriend because we've been together for a while, but you don't know how a new person might act.

I agree with the others who say that respect of each other's passions is very important. My husband and I have some interests that are totally separate, some that overlap a little, and some that are very similar. I'm lucky that he does enjoy Michael's music quite a bit, though he is not as obsessed as I am! :p

For me it has been tricky lately because I've still been very upset over losing MJ, and also fixated on solving the mystery of the death. My husband is not critical of my feelings but is concerned that I'm still upset and am focusing too much on it. I know he just wants me to feel better... but I'm finding it's hard to remain the same "good partner" to him all the time when I've been in such an emotional state for weeks and weeks. :-(

If you could be cool with a man having posters of e.g. Christina Aguilera on his walls, then you have all the rights in the world to find someone that would be cool with you having Michael on your walls :)

That is an incredibly cool story of how you two met. Sounds like you're perfectly suited for eachother! :)

I try to keep my hubby and Michael separate.
Of course he knows about Michael, I mean - the massive framed photo on the wall of my room, my desktop wallpaper, the music I'm listening to - are kind of a dead give away, lol...:cheeky: He's seen me cry my eyes out, too...
He's been buying me books and commemorative magazines as well, so he knows very well, and doesn't really seem to mind at all, even though he's not a fan himself. I think he *gets* it - that my love for him has nothing to do with my love for Michael.
I guess I'm just lucky, although I have to say - all of my exes ended up being Michael fans:D, even if they were adamant at first they want nothing to do with him, lol...
One of them became truly obsessed with MJ's music, it was great to see...
He wrecked all my CDs though, gnnnh!

I don't think a man's lust for a probably half naked woman is the same as a woman's love for cute pictures of Michael. :)

when it comes to partner stuff basically they dont understand but they respect me enough to put up with it. thats what matters

My husband isn't a big MJ fan. I don't think he dislikes him either. He knows I love him and when we were at a wedding a couple of weeks ago, he danced with me to all the songs by Michael Jackson and other songs by the Jackson 5. My husband is doesn't get into dancing unless he had a few beers in him, but he did it for me.

same here..lol....I have been married for 25 years....I am a huge Michael fan. hubby is an avid fan....He doesn't mind me loving Michael....just as long as I dont plaster him everywhere. But Oh God I sure would love too. I mean like really when I was a kid my WHOLE room was Michael...Drove my parents crazy..lmao
But seriously just as long as hubby knows that I could never love anyone more than him he is fine...:)

My hubby like Michael and was devastated that he died...but put it this way...he doesn't know I post on here ;)

But he is completely cool with me getting a Michael portrait tattoo

.just as long as I dont plaster him everywhere. But Oh God I sure would love too.
:):hysterical: eh you know, this is strange, because only NOW I really feel this need to just start plastering Michael all over. Of course, when I was younger that was a routine, but with getting bit older, some things stop. Okay..in a way. hihi;D But now, oh now:(, I just need to see him around, like trying to keep him, or something.

:) Am suspecting that my own home potato (he'd strangle me for this:tease:) is pretty much devastated himself. He just doesn't wanna admit it, hes more like a silent type. But he is acting weird, dunno.

hey take care please with getting a portrait tattoo, like finding the best artist you can, for you wanna have Michael, not some weird skewed man.:flowers:
