No, you have to understand, that we have some fans, who listen daily (since 20 - 30 years) to his music.

They know every acapella, every single shout & breathe.

They don'T need to believe sony, cascio, producers... Ears are telling the truth!

If you still think its MJ, than its fine. But think twice... Why would all these people, would say its fake?

I do understand that some fans listen daily (since 20-30 years) to his music. I listen everyday to MJ for 20 years and I have come to a different conclusion than you based on what i hear. Some fans seem to believe their opinion equals fact. Listening to the track I can hear MJ in there - the track to me is a Michael Jackson track, i recognise that is only my opinion. I'm not debating that there are other vocals in there but if thats what they needed to do to bring this song to completion then that seems reasonable to me.

You are the one who called for me to be banned because of what I thought was a very reasonable post. I don't condemn you for believing it is not MJ, thats your opinion - what bothers me is people condemning me for having my opinion.

I mean this. I am sad that fans cannot hear the difference between an amateur and the greatest artist that ever lived. I am sad that Sony would resort to releasing a fake song out of all the hundreds of amazing diamonds Michael left them with. I am sad that fans have to -once again- endure confusion, pain and embarrassment. I am sad, that after all these years of being an active and proud Michael Jackson fan, today will be the day I say goodbye. I am done with it all.

Don't you find it suspicious though that the Cascios cannot backup the authency of these tapes with anything? They say Michael ordered them to destroy the demos and other mixes. The hard drives of their computers are "destroyed". All VERY suspicious claims. We know that Michael didn't destroy anything he worked on. And isn't it a bit convenient for the Cascios that their hard drives which could be a proof are destroyed? Something is fishy here, no doubt.

It is extremely difficult to say if something is fishy right now. SONY paid huge amounts to have the rights to the songs. They have invested and will now collect the fruit of their investment. Those who won't get a piece of the fruit will do anything to obtain something and will of course make conspiracy theories. There is a money war going on.

How much of this song is Michael's vocals might be up for discussion, but he is on this track - and that is good enough for me.

Really? It's enough for you to have a little bit of MJ on it and the rest being an impersonator?

Point is, they shouldn't parade impersonators as MJ. Then they should frankly say: it's 30% MJ and the rest is Jason Malachi and whoever. And whoever still wants to buy it because it's enough for them, then they can. But don't try to fool us into thinking somebody is MJ who is obviously not!

I just have to laugh at the paranoia and madness. Why am I not surprised?! Same thing when Michael was alive. Even when is dead it is still the same.

I have been a fan for over 25 years and clearly Michael is on that song. Clearly there is other backing vocals on that song as well. We don't have sleeve notes yet.

I can understand Taryll wanting to hear original demo to see how much it was put together but come on this 100% fake nonsense etc has got to stop. It will always be the same. The mind games, the scheming, the bitching will never end. Stop being sheep and falling for it all. It is Michael's legacy that is on the line here.

Many theories are possible, and among one of them is that Michael could have followed the tendency of changing voice pitches in order not to sound as he usually sounds in his previous songs.

Now put songs such as:

"One day in your life" and "Privacy" can you really, really, objectively tell it's the same person singing it?

Let's give ourselves, and SONY the time and listen over and over again. Only then we will see if it's Michael or not.

When I first heard "2000 Watts" I thought Michael was singing a duet with another singer and was expecting to hear Michael in the song. Only after the song was finished I realized that it was Michael all along, different from what he had done before, but still it was him.

"Breaking News" could be also different from the rest, special, Michaelish but unMichael, yet maybe it was intended by Michael!

Yes, but now that we know all these songs (privacy, 2000watts..), we are better able to tell if it's his voice or not.
Btw, I remember when I first heard Dangerous I thought it was a duet with some other singer! lol

it is not the point whether this is Michael from the 80's or the 00's... I could recognize Michael's voice even if he had lived to be 70 years old. It is the color of his voice, damn it.

This is Michael Jackson we are talking about, the biggest selling and single most successful artist to date! Whoever is behind this, do they not realise that they will not be able to fool millions of MJ fans and followers around the world?

i'm still laughing at the fact that some of them said Michael was not going to be in the 'This is it' movie' - and some fans believed them! - and that sh** soon died down when people saw how pathetic that statement was.

If we had all the 'not MJ' bull before Invincible was released, I am guessing the same people on here would have been crowing;

"2000 Watts is not MJ!! I have been listening to Mj since I was in the womb, and I tell you I KNOW it's not him!"

People on here KNOW very little, but ASSUME very much.

The sensible ones on here know that ASSUME makes an ASS out of U and ME!

Forget what MJ's family say. They have proved that they are not reliable when it comes to truth - even Michael knew that, which is why he had less and less to do with them over the years. They're a liability I'm afraid.

Michael was alive when invincible was released, he isn't now. We all have ears of out own and can come to out own conclusions, we don't need the jacksons to say this song is fake. I can't say for a fact that this song is fake but personally i don't think this is michael sining, maybe they took a demo with a few background vocals he did but this song doesn't sound like MJ. 2000 watts sounds different but it still sounds like Michael imo just like whatever happenes and scream and all different songs throughout his career. Even hold my hand sounds like Michael and that wwas around 2007.

Just a theory . . . .

Casico songs are entirely sung by an impersonator, but are 'radio friendly' songs so Sony hires Teddy Riley (a producer whose been out the spot light since the early 90's) to give them a professional sound, Sony also pay him plenty of cash to keep his mouth shut.

After the trial, a lot of things changed. I think his whole attitude changed. IMHO. He sounds a bit detached, but at that time MJ was basically leading a vagabond life with his kids, so we have to put things in perspective.

He wasn't gonna sound like Thriller or Dangerous MJ...he no longer had a 25 yo voice. Fact.

Well, im trying to compare with the most recent songs/performances like Hold My Hand and MJ singing Human Nature and IJCSLY in This Is It- and this voice in Breaking News doesnt sound like the "recent" MJ at all imo. Maybe its the background vocals or I dont know

I will be speaking with both the Estate and Sony a bit later today on the effects this song is having, I will of course want answers and reasons perhaps even evidence to support their findings that this is indeed Michael.

At this point all I ask is people to be calm, yes I fully understand emotions are running high and we will of course take that into consideration.

Lets see what they have to say later.

I just wrote the following in another topic and I think it should be in here as well.

I was hoping we would finally get some peace, but I guess not.
I think that the anger some fans have should maybe be directed to other people not to other fans I think. If your angry do it to Sony, teddy riley, cascio guy or whoever else you feel is responsible..

I thought this board was going back to being about respectfully disagreeing. We were actually making progress on that.
Even if you are a 100% sure of your opinion, let others feel the way they want to feel. (doesn't matter if it's in favor of not being Michael or in favor of it being Michael on the song)
Even if you think it's the stupidest thing in the world it's still their feelings.
Nobody should be or feel forced to have a certain opinion. I feel that way about other topics so I think I should use it on this topic too.

I know many are upset right now and very angry but snapping at other fans is not the way to go.
Doesn't seem very productive to me at least.

Yes, exactly. Also, the beginning news report stuff was definately done recently because she says "the tabloids would not leave him alone" past tense, if Michael was still with us at that point then it should be "will not leave him alone". This alone shows us that whilst Michael may have done some work on this single a lot of it was done later...

Usually I know its really a Michael Jackson song when I can feel it. To be honest when I listened to Breaking News I didn't feel any of that emotion in his voice. Just go back and listen to Another Day, or Hold My Hand, No Freind Of Mine or even his voice on This Is It (rehearsals) his voice sounds totally different. I personally feel there is another version of this song which IS sung by Michael Jackson and the one whe have all heard so far IS NOT IT. I could be totally wrong, but it doesn't sound like him
