I really do not care about what Jermaine and Randy do. I see no need for him to put out a statement saying this because if he was not there today that kind of says it all. But I am sure if he was offered a cut or a chance to sing he would feel different

STATEMENT FROM JERMAINE & RANDY JACKSON
RE THE MICHAEL JACKSON TRIBUTE CONCERT

July 25, 2011

Today's press conference in Los Angeles announced a tribute concert to Michael to be attended and supported by the Jackson Family. However, we want to make clear that this does not reflect the position of the entire family.

While we wholeheartedly support the spirit of a tribute that honors our brother, we find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death. As everyone knows, those proceedings commence September 20th, and this "Michael Forever" concert takes place in Cardiff, Wales, UK,on October 8th. In light of this, we feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event and its promoter, Global Live.

Furthermore, the decision to proceed with this concert disrespects opinions and wishes expressed in the strongest terms to Global Live during conversations in April when this event was presented to the majority of the family as an idea already in its advanced stages.

There will come a time and place for an amazing and deserving tribute to Michael. But we feel that the most important tribute we can give to our brother at this time is to seek justice in his name.

If the majority of the family was against this concert then why is it happening now? :fear:

Jermaine and Randy attacking a project related to MJ. They did the same in the 30th anniversary celebration (MSG).

The event was presented to the majority of the family. The majority of the family wasn't necessarily against it.

That's what I read, anyway.

Well I guess hell just froze over! I mean Randy and Jermaine are on the same side?

Blah blah... this is all about $$$$$$$

This all seems incredibly sad to me. wrong time, wrong place, probably wrong people organising.....
(Maybe in April, GlobalLive thought the trial would be over by July?)

Just in practical terms, big concerts in the UK are usually in the summer...for a reason! ( October can be pretty miserable weather-wise) and Cardiff can't be as easy to get to from Europe as London, can it? (I love Wales, have had some great holidays there, but transport isn't always the easiest.. especially if you don't have a car.)

While I was 'logged out' I had a look to see who might be around in the UK concert-wise..starting with Elton John, as he often does Prince's trust gigs...but he'll be in Vegas at the Colliseum.
Paul McCartney looks like he's heading to Mexico (not sure he'd do a tribute anyway......LOL)
Santana also looks engaged elsewhere.
Van Halen will just have finished a tour in Australia
Interestingly Akon has just moved a concert from october to November ( ? may be free?)
Robin Gibb will be in France ... close enough for a visit from Barry perhaps?
Shaheen Jafargholi is touring in Germany with Bruno Mars..but he's from Wales and free that date... (just mentioned him as he was going to be in the TII concerts)
Jennifer Batten seems to be in London in Late October
................................so anyway, we'll see if it happens. (not holding my breath)

( Personally, I wouldn't go in the middle of the trial)

Maybe the Estate should just plan a tribute to Michael too! Have it at the O2 and invite the best of the best to perform. They will come because it will be a first class production.

The Jackson's are just shooting themselves in the foot by refusing to work with the estate. This tribute will crash and burn.

Cirque Du Soleil is the official tribute. Is this even supported by the Estate? I wouldn't go if they paid me.

Jackson Family Divided Over MJ Tribute Concert

Jermaine and Randy Jackson are DEAD SET against the Michael Jackson tribute concert announced today by members of the Jackson family ... calling it "inappropriate" and "ill-timed."

Katherine, La Toya, Jackie, Tito and Marlon all attended a press conference today to announce the show in Cardiff, Wales on October 8. Katherine said it would be a "world-class event."

But Jermaine and Randy don't see it that way -- releasing their own statement against the concert, saying, "We find it impossible to support an event that is due to take place during the criminal trial surrounding Michael's death ... We feel it is inappropriate to be involved with such an ill-timed event."

As of now, tickets go on sale August 4. The family has not announced who will be performing at the show.

I don´t have much over for Jerm and his Randall brother, but for once I agree with them.

And they have always been divided, Michael found them entertaining at times, just because they really want to make it look like they stand on a united front when they really run at all directions. It was just when he agreed to do something they could be one unit.

Why can't they wait till after the trial? I just wish they could work with the estate and do something big. The kids don't need a trust fund. Everyone knows these kids are going to inherit his estate with a lot of money. It's no secret. These people need help.

This is a MASSIVE SCAM. I expect the Estate to sue Global Live in record time.
NB: Please do NOT waste your valuable money on this scam. If you wanna donate go directly to the charity of your choice.

MJ3 have already got a trust in their name. and they are set to inherit the Estate of MJ when they turn 40. They don't need trusts fraudulently formed by strangers looking to milk MJ image and likeness.

I really, really, really try to trust these people but... man!!! They try so hard to make me distrust every single thing they do!!!!

:(

MJ does NOT deserve this kind of public humiliation by his own "family". He deserves far better.

i hear you. i really try to give them benefit of doubt. i really want to respect them.

i realize i have never met or talked to any one of them. i should not be judgemental. but, they are testing my patience with this tribute. just wrong timing. :sigh:

Indeed. One wants to be, you know, fair... but this keeps on and on.
I guess the best thing for us is to stay as far as possible from this so called "tribute" thing.
Already starting with a fight. Begging money for the children?
What a shame. What a disgrace.

I wonder if this will really happen. I am wondering if people are starting to see what Michael had to deal with. I know I am.

^Wow, talk about a divided family..!

guess Steven and Jerms spent some time online..

This may sound extreme to some but I don't care, I've come to the point of wanting to throw up everytime I see/hear new pics/stuff of/from Jermaine, Randy, Katherine, and Latoya. Seriously the whole clan makes me sick.

Some time ago I would support the project because of MJ's name. Today, I do not care anymore. We will never have peace with this bizarre family. They all, including Janet, can go to hell.

... welll, we are the Jacksons....

the absolutely untrustworthy family...

they are totaly humiliating the public status of Michael, and everything positive, which has been reached since 2009...

shame on them, and... wait ... where are Prince, Paris and Prince II????

I just wait for the time when "the family" will use/exploit them as a media tool/toy...., everything for Michael...

Where was the Vienna, London tribute....???? or what ever it was... by Jermaine and supported by Katherine by her own statement..., nothing ever happened...

SMH @ this "family". I mean, this f**kery is just sickening! Just when you think it can't get any worse, it does.

This is just one big joke! United my behind, what the hell is all this? it just keeps getting more ridiculous by the minute. Do they at all not care how this looks to the public? why can't they ALL come together and do something for the person they all claim to love without all this drama? no one can now doubt why Michael kept his distance, this just proves it all.

Having this concert at the height of the trial is plain insulting, this just shows you where their priorities lie. And that trust fund thing is so laughable! This a'int about Michael, not at all, its all about the wonderful Jackson family! I somehow hope the Estate is able to throw a wrench into this fiasco. First you had Jermaine's 'tribute' that never was, now this. And is'nt it laughable that Jermaine is showing outrage when he did'nt care to have his 'family' on board with his ill-fated tribute.

Goodness gracious, when will this foolishness end?
