Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Even if LA fragments seen on The One DVD were from same concert that was shot on film, I don't think it was great transfer then. Looks outdated and ''video-ish'' though it still looks very great no doubts. But I see video-ish artifacts which I don't see in Moonwalker samples which were shot on film.

That is great quality nonetheless. Quality doesn't really matter to me but if its going to look like that I don't complain. I just want Bad Tour on dvd and possibly blu-ray :)

Then why it makes you want the Blu-Ray if quality doesn't matter that much to you? :) Blu-Ray is obviously another level of perfect quality (yeah, Bumper, for BIG screens).
But for me quality does matter. A LOT I would say :)

exactly :) Bad Tour 88' in cinemas relive the magic of this Tour and then 2 months later see it in full 1080p crystal clear HD quality.

Well of course lol. I know people who buy blu-ray players, yet they have small screens. I also know some people having big screens and refusing to buy blu-rays lol. I think some people didn't understand what matches with what.

Yeah I was pointing out since everytime I mention Blu-Ray, there follows your post about size of screens and needs of Blu-ray and DVD for certain people with certain TVs. Lol

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

when i bought my Blu-Ray player in 2010 and i watched this is it on it and i upped the sharpness i was blown away by the quality and i only have a 24" full HD LED tv in my room, but the difference was huge compared to the standard quality of DVD. i would love to have this full concert on Blu-Ray this year:

It doe snot only depend on the dvd/blu ray themselves. It also depends on the source from where it had been taken.

Now, if you take the same quality source and record on DVD and BLU RAY, then you watch on a small screen like 24" your eyes would be unable to detect the difference, because the pixels are not extended to the maximum.

On 24'' still possible enough. But are you referring to TVs or any screens? I have 21,5'' monitor and difference is huge. I also have rather small (I think it was 26'' or 28'') HDTV but still very big difference. I guess I wouldn't notice difference with 17'' monitor though :p

Just wondering, did michael perform The way you make me feel & Man in the mirror on the July 14th concert at wembley stadium in 1988 in front of 72,000 screaming fans?

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

HD snippet of the way you make me feel live in wembley July 15th 1988.

You must compare the DVD/Blu Ray containing the recordings from the source having the same quality. Bear in mind that both DVD and blu ray are digital. As I said earlier of course blu ray is always better than DVD, but you start noticing it with your bare eyes only from the moment the picture gets too much stretched for the DVD (which means on big screens).

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Sorry, no offense intended, but can we leave that schooling on picture quality & flat screen, little screen / big screen out?
I mean, we simply wish to have the best quality available. That tells the whole story!
Everybody can buy the medium he/she prefers.

I long for 'Dirty Diana' live performance!

agreed, Dirty Diana was so amazing on the Bad Tour and by seeing the snippets of Wembley that was by far the best performance of Dirty Diana.

Then wish automatically a blu-ray and nothing else.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

I don't know which concert from Bad was the best. I hope a concert from the tour will be released this year.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Isnt WembLey an open stadium. Weren't those performances shot during the day time? I ask because some of the crowd shots in the Another Part of Me video seem to be out doors door the afternoon and I certainly don't want an outside concert shot during the day.

Also it seems so many of the fans from outside the United States want a DVD release from some where outside the united states. I'm from he USA and I want an American date released! Why?Because it seems for a long time Mikes American fan base was neglected. We didn't get him for the dangerous or history tour and he decided to launch his This is It tour in London. I want to selfishly claim Michael as an American artist and not share lol. I'm just saying. I know this not the reality, just a desire on my part. Either way I want a Blu Ray from this tour release NOW!

Also any idea who the film director might be? Maybe we can find him and ask how he filmed the tour? Who was the director for the APOM video he or she may have directed an entire show and we can find out who he is and ask him.

That's a very good idea!

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Unconfirmed news

One website lists that I just can't stop loving you single would include a new song

5 inch CD single containing I Just Can't Stop Loving and the new song Don't Go Messin' Round!

http://www.sanity.com.au/products/2210951

both DVD and blu ray can have the same audio quality.

Bluray is far more superior because it mostly contains a lossless track which is bit by bit identical to the original master in its full glory.

The DVD can only contain a fraction of the original master which is better known as:

Dolby Digital 5.1
DTD 5.1
