Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Bluray is far more superior because it mostly contains a lossless track which is bit by bit identical to the original master in its full glory.

The DVD can only contain a fraction of the original master which is better known as:

Dolby Digital 5.1
DTD 5.1

Both DVD & Blu Ray contain digitall sounds. If you have a 5.1 on DVD or 5.1 on Blu Ray it's exactly the same quality.

The ray reading the Blu Ray disk is thinner than the ray reading the DVD disk, that's why Blu Ray disk has a bigger capacity, including spreading the sound to 7.1 or even 9.1. But theoretically DVD would have the possibility to host 7.1 or even 9.1, the problem is that then it reduces the storage capacity.

Simply put, a DTS MASTER AUDIO track or a DOLBY TRUEHD track are non exsistent on DVDs.

That is what I meant.

It is true that blu ray offers automatically the best sound quality. I just said that DVD would in theory be able to do the same, but then the storage space suffers from it. And also, if people want to enjoy the dts blu-ray sound on 7.1, they'd need to have 7 loudspeakers and 1 subwoofer.

Sony Music is going ALL out for the 25th anniversary of Paul Simon's Graceland.

Considering what we already know, surely they will do at least the same for Michael's BAD25.

I hope they will put the Bad Tour in cinemas, that would be so wonderful but even if it only gets released on DVD that will be great.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

I wonder which version of IJCSLY this will be. No word of a new duetpartner this far.

Hopefully Don't Go Messin Round won't be released in Australia only. Maybe as a promotion and will be included in the album? Anyway, I hope the term "inedit" in this entry means, that the song is untouched.

Really exciting^^

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

This is amazing news, a new song!

But why only n Australia?

Also, do you guys think it's a good idea to promote this using IJCSLY? How about Bad instead?

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

I don't mind what they use to promote BAD25 I just hope the final product is what we are all expecting.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Just Pre Ordered my copy of the single, Sanity are a major Australian retailer and I doubt their information is false. Cant Wait!

Oh and By the way from July 2009:

Bruce Swedien revealed the singer had completed a powerful track entitled Don't Be Messin' Around.

Featuring what was described as a mesmerising solo performance, it is expected to be available to millions of fans once the terms of Jackson's estate are settled.

Mr Swedien said of the ballad: "Michael plays piano on it, and it's just beautiful." He added: "Oh my God, there's nothing like it." The possibility of new Jackson music has been one of the most hotly-debated topics since his death.

It has been reported that hundreds of tracks could be available to fans, including lyrics Jackson wrote during the build-up to his planned European tour.

But there has been no substantiation to the rumours until now.

Swedian added: "There might be one or two songs that didn't make it from each album. But they're not finished. There aren't vocals for everything."

The producer, who worked alongside Jackson and Quincy Jones on such successful solo albums as Bad, Thriller, Off the Wall and Dangerous, is publishing a book based on his experiences with the singer.

In the Studio with Michael Jackson, published in the US on July 27, is expected to be a bestseller and is the first on the shelves since his death.

It will take an overwhelmingly positive tone towards Jackson, despite the fact he died owing the author half a million dollars.

Swedian told US journalist Roger Friedman: "I don't say anything bad about Michael in my book; it's nothing but good stuff."

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Man, I hope they don't screw the song up!

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

can't wait to hear the new song from the BAD recording sessions, then hopefully this will be followed by the BAD 25 CD and then the Bad Tour 1988 Blu-Ray/DVD.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

and hopefully the spoken intro will be on the I Just Can't Stop Loving You Maxi CD single too.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Wembley, Rome or MSG please :D

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Man, I hope they don't screw the song up!

Of course they won't. This is a song from an anniversary edition of an album that was released 25 years ago. Why would they do anything else to it besides remastering the track for the best quality possible...

Common sense people, common sense.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

@T.N.A. exactly, and hopefully their remastering the Bad Tour 1988 for the DVD release this year if their is a DVD which I hope their will be.

ijcsly was the first single off bad. Maybe for BAD25, they're releasing all of the singles, in order, again, except this time each one will be paired with an unreleased or remixed track?

If that's the case, i actually think that would be a very nice way to let fans recreate the magic of the initial release--or experience it for the first time.

That'd be amazing, but I doubt they'll release 9 unreleased songs total

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - General Discussion Thread

Just as a reminder: BAD was originally conceived as an 3-LP album.
Also: Some songs were reworked with Rodney Jerkins.

There's a lot to choose from for an 25th anniversary...
