Re: Katherine & MJ's kids sue AEG / Trial date delayed to April 2, 2013
I posted this at LSA
If we look to his previous police interview and the documentary
- Murray clearly mentioned that he knew Michael for quite some time and that Michael was his friend and that he asked him to join the tour :
this clearly debunks AEG choose or hired Murray claim
- Murray said he was working for Michael but was paid by AEG :
this clearly again proves strong support that he wasn't hired by AEG and he was an independent contractor
- in his police interview he mentioned Michael was knowledgeable about propofol and lidocaine (milk and antiburn), that Michael asked for it, other doctors gave it to him, other doctors allowed Michael to push and so on :
this debunks that Propofol was selected or forced by AEG claims
- at his documentary he mentioned some things Phillips said and as his defense he tried using Michael being under stress and/or financial distress that he self injected :
these claims fits with Katherine's claims
- Murray is also the one that can explain for what / when he wanted the equipment and help and whether or not AEG was aware of Michael's medical treatment :
hard to say what will be his answers and it could help or debunk Katherine's claims. Knowing how Murray likes to express he is innocent and everyone else is guilty, he can easily turn against AEG.
Obviously Murray is known to lie, a convicted felon who shows no remorse, this would be used by AEG to challenge his credibility if he ever testifies.
He can say that AEG made things worse putting too much pressure on Michael, and making his insomnia worse, and then on Murray, because Michael had to be ready for rehearsals. As he did during the criminal trial, he can try to put the blame on Klein and Michael.
Murray's theory is that Michael was such a mess he did that to himself.
I agree with bouee. Taking into consideration what Murray said, what his defense argued or tried to argue and assuming that he will keep his story consistent:
The one thing Murray can say is that Michael was in financial despair, he needed the tour , AEG was financially helping him and he was dependent on them (he mentioned comments from Phillips in his documentary), this brought the pressure, AEG was complaining that Michael was missing rehearsals and therefore it again brought the pressure of giving him Propofol to help him sleep and attend rehearsals.
This partially fits with Katherine's claims. However this scenario doesn't include any direct order or knowledge from AEG's part and can easily be argued by them simply saying "we didn't ask for such thing, he did it himself".
As I wrote in the above copied post, AEG claims they didn't know about Propofol and Murray is the only person to say who knew what. However he can make or break Katherine's case. In other words if he says for example "I didn't discuss my treatment with anyone", he can support AEG's claims that they didn't know.
Also as I mentioned before Murray's previous statements is debunking at least a part of Katherine's lawsuit - that he was selected or hired by AEG. Murray has been clear about knowing Michael for some time, that they were friends and that Michael asked him to join the tour. It's also obvious that Murray knew and thought he was working for Michael and not AEG. He asked Jorrie to change the wording in the contract to say "provide services the Artist wanted" and he said in his police interview he was working for Michael but was being paid through AEG.
Also they might want to talk to Murray about his version of the "riot act" meeting. I'm thinking Katherine's claims about the "riot act" meeting is hearsay through Karen Faye, they might need a first witness account. Michael and Dileo is dead, we know Ortega's version. Phillips and Murray are the other people that were in the meeting. (I'm not sure about MAW or Gongaware).
