No one knows yet what the Estates intentions were, or even if they knew about it at all yet.....just be thankful its not being released.

At this point it really doesn't even matter if its released or not, it will now be known as "that mj and jb collab" and that makes me sick to my stomach...

Just want to make a thread about this wild discussion about STTR song.
Some hated the song, but some liked it. Why would you guys, who not enjoyed the song, ruin the song by boycotting for us who liked it. It's just a song, not an entire album feat Justin Bieber ... Some says the song will destroy Jackson's legacy, bit I strongly doubt. A simply song does not. In fact, it can be positive because all writes that it is really a Jackson song and then they would find the original track. :)

So please - just beacuse you dont like it, dont destroy the possibility for a release

A fan who also works in the industry said on Twitter it's common practice that when an artist asks permission for a sample or something like that and doesn't get approved they "accidentally" get the song with the sample leaked...

Though this is more than just a sample.

The way all of this was handled was really disrespectful towards Michael. What they did was take an already complete Michael Jackson song (Which was awesome by the way) remove some of his vocals and replace them with someone else. It's disrespectful because Slave To The Rhythm was recorded as a Michael Jackson song only and it was never intended to be a duet. These people clearly have no respect for Michael's artistry and are messing with his work just to try and appeal to the younger crowd of today. It's disrespectful.

Slave To The Rhythm can still be released but with ONLY Michael singing on it. No duets!

Hey Justin, if you can sing this song without auto tune, show us... Than we'll give you permission to sing this. Buy a camera, take a guitar and sing it. Just you, guitar,camera and microphone... If you can't play guitar, np sing alone.

If you can't, get out...

Plus Justin Bieber is not a respected artist outside of his teen girl fan base who do not like him for his music but for his looks. It degrades Michael as an artist to associate his name with such a shallow act. The Estate should work on strengthening the respect for the MJ brand, not weakening it with cheap PR stunts like this.

The problem is, It got aired last night on a radio station without any credit given to Michael.
The fact that Justin is extremely rude towards other people, his fans. And that he is not a artist that is loved outside from his fanbase.

He threw a tantrum in a movietheater for being denied when he wanted to bring his sandwich(?) into the theater and people refused him because it's against their policy.
He faked an astma attack, let security call the paramedics and when the paramedics arrived, Justin started laughing at them.
He peed in a bucket.
the fact that beliebers call justin the new king of pop. when he doesn't even get near Michael.
Oh and Justin spit on his fans from a balcony.
Yay justin!

Justin took the whole song and changed it, it has lost it's meaning.
Beliebers are spreading lies that the Jackson family gave him the song, beliebers are attacking Mj's fans when we are trying to get some facts straight.

That’s the worst part of this for me. Justin Bieber ruining any MJ song would be bad enough, but I hate that this is happening to this particular song. STTR is amazing, and it should have had a proper release as a Michael solo song somewhere in the future. But now this is posted everywhere on the internet, and many non-MJ fans now think of this as that Justin Bieber duet. People are talking about the song now, but it can’t be purchased anywhere. And if this is released some day it won’t get the same kind of buzz because many people already think of this as a Justin Bieber duet.

I don’t think there are tons of unreleased songs that actually have a chance at success today. STTR had a lot of potential, and it’s ruined now. Thanks a lot, Justin Bieber.

they could have. on the other hand some people aren't very knowledgeable about who is "MJ Estate" and think Jacksons are the Estate. There are multiple parties who have made deals with the Jacksons thinking they are the Estate only to be shut down by the actual Estate - HTWF, Howard Mann, tribute belts, Cardiff tribute concerts are examples that comes to mind.

As of now there are conflicting information. both parties confirm that it wasn't final version but Bieber says Jacksons gave it to him while Max makes a reference to the Estate.

and you don't need to wait for a reason to be done with the Estate. If they annoy you so much, you can be done with them now.

and i have to add that the real estate is doing a better job than the fake estate. expect that i'm still not sure if i trust branca and mclain (not sure if they both are really the two that michael jackson wanted back), cause their job was not so good since michael jacksons death.

And by the time it gets released officially it will be an "old song" thanks to this fiasco and it won't have the same impact. Yes, it was leaked three years ago but it was not well known outside of the hard core MJ fan base. But now it's everywhere. Trending on Twitter, radios playing it. This is such a fiasco on so many levels, I think those who are responsible for this should be punished some way becasue it does cause actual harm to Michael's Estate. Unless they were in it. In that case I have no words for their level of incompetence. On so many levels. The first level being that it even crossed their mind that this "duet" might be a good idea.

I do not see a attention in a general public to this leak, except by MJ fans and Bieber fans in the internet.
I can not see that the song will be ruined for the general audience. They do still know nothing about the song.

Edit: How many radio-station played it? One in one country?

Michael's version should be released as soon as possible. Maybe estate did this to stop all the michael was a drug addict talk in the media. This get's people talking about something else.

This is why the song (mj only version) needs to be released asap. If the album is coming out this year they should release this as the first single (perhaps on mjs birthday) and release the album November/December.

and he was 100% not there, cause ironicly, on july 7 2009 his first single was released. so he wasnt even known anywhere.
