Incredible lifelike Michael Jackson Thriller bust [Update] The Creator comments in our thread

How about using the clothes he used on the Thriller album cover? You
rarely see that, something different.

I'd probably try something like that eventually if someone requests it (finding the black shirt maybe tough...), but this statue is going to be for my personal display. My favorite looks of his are either Thriller or Beat It from the Thriller era.

So I had a chance getting one of those Marc Laurent jackets ( a Beat It) that were signed by the remaining Jackson brothers for cheap and I missed out! Sigh.....

Does anyone know what vendor makes the most accurate Beat It and Thriller jackets? I'm going for screen accuracy. I've tried contacting a few people off Ebay, but no success.

Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'll probably have some pics up soon as soon as I work on his arms and add some shoes for him. Also, I may alter the bust position on the mannequin a bit. Here's a quick pic I did on Corel Paintshop. The 30th anniversary of the Thriller music video is next month so I decided to whip this pic up quick.

Still haven't gotten around to working on the hands/arms yet. BUT, I'm doing yet ANOTHER revision to the MJ sculpt. This time it'll be the Bad era and I've done massive overhauls on the jawlines, nose, eyes upper lip. I also added a bit more mass in the check on the right. I think this will be the final revision. I'll have some pictures up soon. It's going to be super accurate.

In the meantime, here's a closeup on my Thriller Statue:

Wow!!! This is honestly the most accurate sculpture of Michael Jackson I have ever seen. Most of the others always feel a little... off... some don't even resemble him that much but yours resembles him perfectly! Bravo

Me too-blink or open his mouth any second. I have just gone back to the beginning and re-read the thread-your work is absolutely amazing-I have never ever seen anything this great. I've seen wax figures and statues of Michael from pretty good to pretty awful-and your work is in a league of its own.
I hope the Estate has contacted you-or someone sent YT videos and pix of your work to them-and also Madame Trussaud's-they could use some help in the accuracy. I would think you could make a mint selling these to places like Hard Rock Cafe too-

That is spectacular work. I'd love to known one of these, lack of funds though, lol! You've nailed everything about him, I love these in sort of a weird way because it's kind of looking at Michael face to face. The resemblance is uncanny.

You really do deserve a lot more attention for these, they're each a masterpiece.

I'm glad to hear this-a talent like yours is rare-and I think you should go as big as possible with it. I used to draw but now am more an appreciator of art-and I'm around Michael's age, so I spent a lot of hours, days, years staring into those gigantic brown eyes (via TV screen). When I went back through the thread from the beginning and looked at the first pictures I thought-"wow-that bust looks just like Michael" but as I went through it I thought I was looking AT Michael-
I'm not sure exactly what you did-with the tweaking, or changing little things here or there, or camera shots, or lighting or what(I've tried pulling up side by side shots to figure it out)
but somewhere along the way it turned from a really great sculpture to a living, breathing thing. This is like your Galatea, so to speak-
I'm sincere with this-but a talent and a gift like yours should be seen and appreciated by many. That's why I thought of Hard Rock, The Rock n Roll Hall of Fame, Motown Musuem, Grammy Hall of Fame, etc. (and I'd send these pix to the Estate as well-one of these days, I'm sure they'll do some kind of musuem and this would be a real asset for them).

Just finished this up for a Japanese fan:

I think I did the eyebrows better on this than the last. But this will be the last Bad bust I post here for a while. I just love this sculpt so much!

I just finished my FINAL Thriller sculpt 2.5 version. I know you guys maybe sick of the Thriller era, but I really think I got this new sculpt the most perfect I can get. I plan on building a "Beat It" statue with this new sculpt.

After that, I'm going to branch off into Dangerous and HIStory.
