Xscape General Discussion

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

If any media whatsoever try to turn Do you know where your children are into something ugly. then they are simply sick in the head.

Knowing how ''classy'' the media is, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Knowing how ''classy'' the media is, I wouldn't be at all surprised if they did

actually such articles were expected, I remember that shortly after MJs passing the tabloid media "praised" the handwritten lyrics to Crack Kills as a suicide note

"Some fans believe that the song – which includes repetition of the phrase, “save me from this living hell” – was written as a direct response to sexual abuse claims made against him."

What fans? F.U.C.K. you Ashleigh Rainbird. So in 1990 he wrote a song about what would be his "direct response" to something that will happen 3 years later.

’Listen; what ever you do, do NOT give the song to the record label, because all they’re gonna do is end up throwing it on some compilation.’”

Lol. Michael knew it !

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Wait wait wait, so Chicago 1945 is NOT on the new album? But that was the one song everybody was looking forward to the most! Then WHAT is the 8th song?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Now see, I love DYKWYCA, but this is one reason I didn't want it released. Yes, it was recorded two years before Michael ever met the Chandler family, but what media website is going to bother to know that? Allow the negative promotion to begin.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Wait until TMSleaze get wind of DYKWYCA ....they will write one of their idiotic headlines. But who cares, the song is great and deserves a proper release.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Let the media talk shit about the track. Everyone knows when the song was recorded and it was intended for Dangerous..well before the controversy. Anything the media says about the song is false and is pretty much slander. All it takes is someone to tell the world how the track came to be, when it was recorded, and debunk what the media says. The estate should follow suit and put people on notice, that the slandering of MJ won't be tollerated anymore and it could result in a trip to court.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Lol "some fans", what fans? Eh they can take their crap and go to hell cause i'm just too happy now. In the spirit of Pharrell, " Club along if you feel like happiness is the truth! "

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

The song is so amazing it will drown out any negativity -I'm not worried

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

No one needs to be genius to understand 12:00 o'clock talks about a 12 year-old girl victim of sexual abuse and ended up being a prostitute once she ran away to escape from her stepfather. Linking the song with the Chandlers knowing Michael wrote years before meeting them is an idiotic bullshit! :wtf2

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Please, let's stay on topic and let's keep the discussion factual and positive.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I wish they just credited it as "12 O'clock" but whatever f*ck them. The song is dope and has meaning

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I think I clearly explained that. This is not a matter of downloading those leaks. It's the latter statements. and for the record it's not my site, it's not my staff, it's not my decision.

What are the 'latter statements' you keep referring to? The issue I had was folk getting on their soapbox about how it's illegal this and illegal that and wagging the finger. But you don't ever download anything so fairplay to you, you are entitled to do that - however one could argue there's a hypocrisy in working somewhere where you don't agree with the activities that are supported/carried out/promoted, no?

Well simple logic doesn't need explanation in my book but if you need me to spell it out I will too. Estate and Sony owns these songs and they can do whatever they want with them. While releasing albums they would try to release the best songs and release as many albums as they can. That's the way for them to satisfy their hundred million dollar deals and keep earning money in the long term. They aren't going to consider how a small number of fans have illegally obtained and listened to the songs. They aren't going to arrange their business activities based on someone's illegal actions, they aren't going to reward such fans, they aren't going to punish other fans / public who haven't downloaded / heard the songs just because some small group have listened to the songs and most definitely they aren't going to hurt their profit capacity. That's why no one is going to do that.

What's the relevance of stating the Estate can do 'whatever they want with them'? Like they're doing us a favour by releasing them? As you've said they're a business, and my view is that it's good business sense to try to appeal to the largest amount of people - that INCLUDES as much of the diehard fans as possible. You may consider it a small group of people and therefore they are irrelevant to you, that's fine, but I don't think that makes very good business sense - I mean, what are the disadvantages of including more unleaked material than leaked? There's a clear disadvantage of including nearly all leaked tracks - some people won't buy it lol. I don't think the Estate run things with punishment/reward in mind. That's absurd.

the expectation of them considering the leaked songs is also quite delusional. What do you expect them to say /do to be honest? " We are sorry that you stole these songs and listened to those and to make up for it there are the songs who didn't hear before.". Does that even make any sense to you? Realistically?

Are you addressing me directly there? I don't get it? I've said several times now that the situation where people are turned off because the vast majority of songs are already in the public domain and that situation could have been avoided if they addressed the balance. Why do you assume I expect them to 'say' anything?

nope I did not say that either.

I said I understood 'the' argument. I did not attribute it to you. Several people said in the thread that people should now be paying for them as they now commercially available. With regards the 'either', what else was it I incorrectly claimed you said?

Again is we are fans of MJ that should be an unacceptable thing to suggest right?

I am against downloading commercially available material for free. But if someone feels completely frustrated at the decisions made, and given the Estate's poor track record, I can understand that this may make them feel like their voice is being heard. It doesn't surprise me in the slightest. And I'm not gonna sit here wagging my finger at them. As I said before, this is a two way street and somebody deliberately tried to deceive us before to get money out of us. This resulted in a break down of this relationship.

I don't have any wish to continue this discussion with quoting and all the rest of it, I don't come here for that and I don't have the time for it. Despite the condescending nature of some of your points, I respect them. I won't be continuing further, but if you intend on quoting/replying again rest assured I will certainly read it.

Not everyone knows that though, only fans who are in the know would. All the casuals and the rest of the world are completely oblivious to what the song is truly about and once the media plants the wrong idea in their head, it's going to stick and spread like a virus, and it'll stay there no matter what you present to prove it wrong. Such is the way of this cruel world when it comes to Michael.

I wish they had re-titled it too... Hope they knew what they were doing leaving it with that title.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I think we souldn't really worry about the media misleading the title of the track. Michael is not here anymore to suffer of any of the consequences it would have on him.

Wow. Really?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I'm glad they've left the title alone. Michael named it. To me, that's like renaming one of his children now.

I don't care what the media thinks. Never have.

Never will.

You have a point there to a degree , but there will be emotional consequences for the fans more importantly. Let's just hope the media is sensible to this matter if it should arise.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

The media didn't run with this because of the title, it's the story and lyrics they are talking about.

Exacty. To be honest hard core fans alone cannot make an album successful any more, so the Estate needs to target the general public as well. Hence the new remixes and maybe they tried to be safe by putting songs on it mainly which were well received by fans when leaked.

I still don't understand this "I'm only going to buy the two new songs" attitude. None of us bought the leaks, we esentially "stole it" when they were leaked, so if you want to be fair and supportive to MJ now you should buy them at last. At least I do not pirate off my very favourite artists, but support them.

I agree however, I would be remiss in forgetting how those leaks were able to be stolen.

This is why I am request with the utmost sincerity that the Estate/Sony do right by Michael this time because he deserves it!

I am willing to accept the olive branch from them. This does not mean I forgot the past issues; it means I can forgive and that forgiveness is allowing me to embrace this project wholeheartedly. If they do their job, I will do mine and I promise to purchase and listen to the deluxe in its entirety on day ONE. I will not confirm how many times and which songs I will repeat. *laughs* I will also encourage others to purchase it.

Agreed.

Estate/Sony: I am begging you to please do this right. Please!

Thank you for not changing Michael’s lyrics to that song as it is an important, cautionary tale that happens too often. You know the media cannot be trusted regarding Michael. Correct the issue you knew would happen by releasing DYKWYCA with a statement ASAP!

Do NOT - I repeat - do NOT allow the media to tarnish this for Michael by being relaxed. This is not the time to relax.

And at the same time, silence some Jacksons. Hard to imagine any of them coming out publicly against LA Reid or Xscape.

Allow me to first say, I am not commenting on you personally; I am commenting on the post.

I am simply requesting this not be the start of posts discussing how one feels Michael’s siblings, parents, extended family, etc. as well as his own children should respond to this release. Please.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Anyone who falls for the media misleading DYKWYCA are fools! All it takes is to hear the song and u'll see that Jackson isn't even talking about himself but, about a situation involving a young female! If anything the attention to the song will bring people to listen to it and maybe buy it? Basically, anything the media ever said now or then negatively about MJ never really stopped MJ from having people by his music, as we can see as now with this new album. So, I would't worry about the media's predictable ways! It's old news!

And lets not forget the HIStory album truly was about 93 and still sold damn good!

He may not be, but we are, and so are his family and his friends. Believe me, every time I read a negative comment about Michael it's poisonous. It makes me violently ill and sometimes sends me into a rage. I try to avoid such negative things but they still pop up when you least expect it, and when they do, it hurts.

I know we shouldn't let the media's crap bother us but with the amount of power they have, and the fact that the majority of people are swayed by that power, it's quite discouraging. I hope the estate and/or the artists who worked on this album puts out an explanation about the song. One that will be loud, clear, and hopefully shut everyone up. We need that positivity and clarification now more than ever.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Sit back and relax my friend!

DYKWYCA is a controversial song, let the media talk, let them write...

This is called MEDIA EXPOSURE. People will buy the album :D

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Could not agree more, let the music speak for itself! My god, if anybody can sit still to the beats of these killer tunes then they must already be dead lol!
Michael liked being controvercial, as he quoted " good they think that i was meaning me as it had everyone talking about it, thats what i wanted!"

I think the estate and Sony( dont forget thats La Reid now as well as Kaz! ) totally different people to the days of Invincible ! They love and honour his legacy, and i am sure will wholeheartedly support this project!
All we need now is a Singstar ps3/ps4 release of Xscape! You hearing this estate! lol.

Go on! Xscape ! the first commercial Singstar disk for ps4! but Dont forget the people on ps3 who are not going next gen yet!

Please Sony/Estate hear me and make and bring back the short films!!

Why should the Estate shy away from releasing a track that seems to be one of the best on the album, if not the best, based on the reviews just because what lowbrow tabloids like the Mirror write (I'm not even sure why do we quote tabloid articles here)? Whether such a song is released or not tabloids will always write crap about MJ. The Mirror is the same paper who made up that fake "FBI files" crap last year so they absolutely do not need a song being released to write crap. I say haters gonna hate, screw them.

If anything people should think about whether someone who molests children would write such a passionate song against child abuse? If anything it shows Michaeel's real heart and intentions. Child abuse allegations will soon be in the media again anyway, with Rob$on's allegations being in the court system, maybe some will stop and think about it: "Wait, so he wrote this song supposedly while he was molesting Rob$son? How does it make sense?"

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

^^We should enjoy the good publicity, the excitement and curiosity Xscape will generate before that kind of crap that mofo crook caused floods all over the media again. The album is already on the top 10 on iTunes.
