I wouldn't go that far. I mean he did engineer and master the music properly but it's not like anyone couldn't do that if they put the effort in. Back then mastering was a touchy thing to do, so there were a lot of people who would do it properly. I love Bruce but he's one of those collaborators who could be switched for someone else without any major effect happening.

This was brought to Sony by him in November 2008 and was mostly spearheaded by MJ.

Michael only "hated" Sony because he felt his album was under promoted (and it was, but Sony had every right to do so). He got over it and went back on numerous occasions: Number Ones, The Ultimate Collection, T25 and unreleased projects. Keep in mind that he could have said no to any of these and could have walked away freely but chose not to.

i think the photo the estate chose for this cover is fantastic and i love the way it was finished by the designer! as soon as i return from HMV i shall be running home (which is 10 miles) and playing XSCAPE on full volume from track 1 to track 17 and then watching the video's!!!! reading the booklet and probably do the same again, hehe. I hope to see posters all over the city centre! oh and this reminds me, MJBT.. when are HMV getting the deluxe edition?

I also would love to go to a pre-listening session in my country. :) Does anyone know how you can attend one, or even where to find the info that a listening session is being held?

I only remember with Invincible, I read only afterwards in the paper that there was a pre-listening party in a local club.

I'm not complaining, but still a shame imo that the estate are not even at liberty to choose from these many tracks out there (will.i.am, Redone, Irv Gotti, at least 1 diddy track, who knows what else). They still could decide then they will not make the cut, but they are not even in the position to be able to consider them.

sure, i wanna have them too. but i doubt will.i.am would provide the right sound. I hope the next album will have redone tracks..

I hope the next album will include more of the Neff-U Tracks, and some from the Michael Prince hard drives! i am looking forward to seeing what unreleased material we shall be getting in the coming years.. but right now i'm very excited for this Brand New Album.

yeah, the original will.i.am versions are supposed to be more mellow, in the style of "Get your money" by him.

And I guess Rodney Jerkins wasn't willing to give up the remaining of "his" tracks, unless he is allowed to do the new version himself (like with the song Xscape). But that's just me speculating.

I'm definitely surprised no Neff-u tracks made the cut, especially since he was the man "replacing" Brad Buxer when he went on with his pilot job.

Personally I think this argument is invalid. Many people have reimagined the work of Michaelangelo. My point is, like with this album, the originals will always remain. Sure, you wouldn't be able to take a paintbrush to an ORIGINAL piece of art and this, like with Xscape isn't what is happening.

The original demo's and all of Michaels own work will be right there for us all to enjoy x

Neff-U is not involved but one of the tracks he worked on is (maybe even 2 because we still don't know 1 song). Hot Fun In The Summertime & maybe Stop Throwing Your Life Away.

Too bad that French journalists gave it mixed reviews. Can't wait for Germany & Japan reviews. They always loved MJ. And US for the end - most difficult crowd to please and most important one.

Couldn't say it better. But I'm afraid that some folks out there will be totally thrilled about such posthumously finished work. Not everything is as easy as painting by numbers ...

Like Kingofpop said a couple of posts above the analogy is not very good for reasons she detailed in that post.

It should be taken for what it is: remixes. We will get the originals too so I don't see the point of this complaint.

i dont like the cover, and i dont like to have remixes on the album. but that does not make my coment negative. its my opinion.

But, if a person only posts negative comments, you do have to wonder about their 'motive' for actually visiting the topic they hate. Don't you?

I mean, there are plenty of things in life I don't like or agree with. I wouldn't bother wasting my time and effort posting that though. I would just avoid them, and post about things that I enjoy, and that make me happy.

It's certainly a strange concept to me.
