Xscape General Discussion

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

HFITS is not the track 8th, nobody talked about it in the analyzes.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Joe Vogel just recently confirmed that Chicago and SWLM are indeed the same song. I don't know what the critic reviews are suggesting but track 8 is still unknown. It better be unleaked though; don't waste an opportunity.

I don't buy that. Chicago has it's origins in the 80ies, She was loving me was brought to MJ by Rooney in the 90ies.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I don't see why everyone thinks it will be. Just because it's circulating? I honestly don't want it on the album because the second they announce it, the collectors will leak it. Let's keep the album a surprise. Have the eighth track be an older track. Buffalo Bill is just sitting around, as is Throwin' Your Life Away.

TBH ciculating? I dont know, has anyone heard anything other than a couple tiny snippets? I mean wasn't all anyone got snippets?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

What about Ekam Satyam (the one truth), must be something anthem-like. A track like this would make the album "whole".

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

If it really is "Hot in the summertime" as the bonus track, this could be a good second single (for summer). However, they tend to release duets as first singles... so we'll see.

And as I understand it you can only get it on the deluxe. So as a single, it would be good promo to buy the deluxe, at the same time exposure for the originals.

it is reported that MJ had recorded some Sly & family stone songs just for the fun of it. Maybe Epic Records & The Estate are going to testing the waters with "Hot Fun":chillin:

Yes, but Michael says the word Chicago in She Was Loving Me. Chicago 1945 is a completely unrelated song. Joe Vogel heard the album already so I'm prone to believe him. Additionally, there isnt a viable album review that mentions Chicago as of yet.

how do you know its finished or almost finished

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

If She Was Lovin Me and Chicago are the same songs, then Hot Fun In Summertime is not a "bonus song", but simply among the 8 tracks + the demo of it like a demo of all the others.

I think we can cut the "if". Chicago = She Was Lovin' Me

I just spent time on Joe Vogels twitter timeline. And he is stat fast & completely sure about what he is talking about. It must be a great song, he listened to it twice & couldn't get it out of his head for 2 days.
It seems the song is called 'Chicago (She was lovin' me)'.

I also believe you are right about "Hot Fun..." being one of the 8 tracks.

But what could this 17th deluxe song be then?

Well I shouldn't say circulating. But it is undoubtedly going to leak if it lands a spot on the album.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I think the first single should be the best track on the album. Not something promised to Paul Anka, not slow song and not a duet.

My wish: Slave To The Rhythm or DYKWYCA.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

I guess there's a possibility that HFITS is indeed the 8th track and the first single, but that journalists were specifically told not to talk about that one, to keep the element of surprise.

It would suck it true, personally. It's a cover, and while I'm sure it's fun to listen to, I wouldn't mind it as a bonus track, but not as one out of 8 "new" songs, when so many MJ originals are still unheard. It's intersting like MJ's cover of "Come Together", but that's it.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Hot Fun is not one of the main songs. As it's already been stated, reviews would have mentioned it by now. There are a number of reviews that mention specific song titles. and even so, wouldn't at least one review have mentioned that there was a cover?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

It just doesn't make sense to me that Chicago and She Was Lovin Me are the same song.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

This Daily Mirror review mentioned all 8 songs and interestingly, it listed Chicago and She Was Lovin' Me as two separate tracks. However, it has since been edited to remove them all apart from Slave To The Rhythm. My guess is they were asked to remove them by Epic/Sony. Except for Slave as it is already known from the Experia advert.

Confused about the whole Chicago thing though. If She Was Lovin' Me has been renamed Chicago then why do some reviews refer to another song called Chicago as well?

one would think so, yes.

Perhaps the clue of what the mystery song is, can be found in the reviews? Like a description of something...?

Maybe they are still working on the tracklist?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

There's only one album review that listed both Chicago and She Was Loving Me individually. They easily could have been mistaken.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

First single should be an up-tempo song. My wishes are APWNN, STTR, DYKWYCA, BG or X !

BUT - I really do hope that all these songs will be released as singles!! - I would say MINIMUM 5 singles from Xscape should be released!! - And the perfect scenario would be all 8 songs get a single release!! - That would be great!!

But first single should really be a great song - a big hit would really get attention to the coming album!!

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

In my opinion they should not rename the original songs. She Was Loving Me is She Was Loving Me. Do You Know Where Your Children Are is Do You Know Where Your Children Are NOT something else. I hated that on MICHAEL album with (I Love) and (I Can't Make It).

I agree. From what we know (snippets) the song Xscape seems to be more hard-hitting. So I would go with that one.

Today's audiences seem to have the attention span of a goldfish so I think a catchy and upbeat song is needed as the 1st single to catch people's attention

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Comne to think of it, have any reviews talked about a ballad on the album? There's got to be an MJ-type ballad on the album, right?

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

Every review has indicated that the only balled type song is Love Never Felt So Good.

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

It could be the demo of Hot Fun

mhh, if HFITS is one one of the 8 tracks, then the HFITS demo is one of the 8 demos - meaning 16 songs.

But there is a 17th song as you know.

Exactly my point! - They need to go with a great uptempo song. - which could be all of APWNN, BG, STTR, DYKWYCH or X !

Re: News and discussion about new MJ album : Xscape, May 13, 2014.

HFITS isn't one of the main songs.
