Presenting this hologram idea as a one off thing is okay with me, but to use it for a tour? not a good idea.

Is this the commercial you saw? MJ at .02 seconds? (I'm not even sure that is supposed to be Michael). Or was it something different?

Well this was the Elvis hologram with Celine Dion. I believe It worked quite well .

That's the one I mentioned earlier. This was done years ago so hardly a new thing. And that is awful. Celine over singing as usual. Elvis may have hated her and her music. How dare they assume he would have even spoken to her, let alone performed with her. (for the record, I hate Elvis)

I hope they do this well, I'm excited to see how they do it. MJ was all for using holograms, I hope they don't use Navi though he kicks with the wrong leg to start...

It will be bad. A Navi based dancing image performing a song Michael may never have even released, let alone played live (lets not forget how similar all his concert set lists were. Hardly adding anything from the Dangerous or HIStory albums, having 5 songs from Thriller lined up for TII and so on) so to me this is just another kick in the balls for Michael legacy. With this kinda technology why bother having live tours any more. People just manipulate their fave artists to perform however THEY want. Isn't that a great idea now aye? Pfft.

Also, it happened before the Elvis one too. Natalie Cole did it with a hologram of her father, Nat King Cole.

At the risk of raising up expectations for this event... I've read that what will be shown on the Billboards show will be something new. Apparently, Sony is a large investor in some high tech company who is developing a new type hologram experience. So, maybe it's possible that what we see next Sunday will be something totally new.

I for one am hoping that whatever is presented, will be awesome and be the talk of the media and everyone else the next day.

Again, as long as it is tastefully done and is respectful to Michael.
 
In my country it will be broadcast on TNT next Sunday. It means I'll see what the estate is up to in a better quality. Don't make Michael looking ridiculous MJ estate!

During the performance, nobody seen Elvis, only people who watched this on the TV
 
A holographic image can be projected from any source material, its more a case of any live performers matching the projections movement than anything else.

Who's told you that previous holograms have had performers faces edited onto 'new' bodies!?
 
Another important note. There's a strong chance that its more likely to be a glass reflection trick than an actual hologram.

Be ready for some CGI too...

The hologram at the MJ ONE show in Vegas is just an impersonator. Totally defeats the purpose of a hologram. They might as well have had the actual impersonator walk on stage. It's the one giant skid mark on the show. So I guess people would be a bit iffy on it actually being MJ.

Doesn't that sort of contradict the whole Xscape theme they've used so far during their advertising? You'd think they would use some unseen Blood on the Dancefloor era footage.

If it is from the dirty diana short film shooting then it seems completely logical to me, considering the amount of camera's that Michael had to film these creations... i am extremely excited to see how this is presented... it will be an extremely memorable moment, i just hope someone records it in HD and upload it.. hopefully The official vevo put it on there Youtube channel in 1080p

For what it's worth... Roger Friedman is reporting this morning that Michael's image will be performing to the song Slave to the Rhythm. And the group that did the Tupak performance a few years ago will be handling this.

I think it's quite exciting news and I sure wouldn't miss this for the world! And why on earth can't those who aren't down with a possible hologram, respect the opinions and excitement of those of us who DO want it and think of it as a great idea? I don't see people being negative towards those who don't want it/think it's disrespectful. And why on earth was an impersonator brought up into this? :| ... anyway, I think it's exciting and YES, Zakk got it right when he said it'll definitely be a great thing for those of us who didn't get to see him live... a lot of us CAN'T get over that, it's easy for people who had the chance to, to say such thing but it's something you always wish had the chance to and this could be the closest thing to that. It's all about RESPECT people... :sigh: Rant over.
