Xscape General Discussion

I think it was decided months ago and that there's nothing we can do about it anymore. So yes I say let's use Justin Bieber and his fans against that MJ hater and his "rock" band. That guy is well known for publicly insulting other artists. Justin Bieber and his fans hates that asshole.

*waving his hand like a jedi* you never said what you just said

Looved the BG video, i always imagined that kind of visual! Those vocals are incredible. I have said it once and i say it again, BG has one of Mikes best vocal deliveries! Just listen how he goes from low and calm to high and franatic in the same verse and in a split second!

I hate it, really really do. But what can we do?? LA Reid is the head of Sony, he's making the decisions! And Justin is his "man".

Didn't the guy from the Black Keys simply say he doesn't like that his unreleased music is being released after his death?
What's wrong with that?
A lot of people here feel the same way.

I think it is interesting to note that the version they used for this video is the 2010 mix that leaked before and not the original version on the Xscape deluxe....they only edited the last min from it (which is the best min IMO)

You are right OnirMJ :D

NO, he did NOT say that. Go read it.

"[It's] some ****ing bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable,"

Bieber over this asshole any day!

Reid is teh Head of Epic not Sony + i think the Estate have their words to say we should talk to these guys (Bieber and his fans are a good strategy for sales but c'mon not this sick little boy)

Wow, the original version of Chicago is beautiful, in fact, I'm liking quite a few of the originals on Xscape. I just got the deluxe soft pack today at Walmart. I've only listened to it once through; I'm way behind many of you. :)

I think it is already decided long time ago that Slave feat. Bieber will be the 2nd single and that he will perform with MJ hologram Sunday. LA was just playing stupid on TV.

Bieber receiving his due is no worse than Anka receiving his.

L.A. Reid was rather clear the only reason the Bieber duet was not released was due to the leak. I personally am glad it is not being discarded. I found it a bit ridiculous Jackson fans went against Bieber fans with neither side realizing they were destroying their hero’s chance at a radio hit.

I do not like Timberlake however; I am not going to protest the LNFSG duet. I do not have to like the duet partner the PRODUCER chose. I can appreciate the choice that will give Michael another chart-topping hit.

The Bieber duet was based on Stewart’s remix and that version is better that the original and Timbaland’s in my view. I have heard it and releasing it should be another hit for Michael which suits me just fine.

BG is such a terrible song. That BG video I just saw lol, what in the blue hell was that ? Just terrible.

I enjoy BG. It was a great choice using the 2010 mix which again was based on the original and better than Timbaland’s mix in my view.

I agree with you that the video is ridiculous however; it was wise to use Cirque to create a video for BG and create cross promotion. It might be too late to do another video for BG using Cirque to replace this one but, hopefully they will continue to try new avenues to create videos for as many of the Xscape songs as they can.

I hated Blue Gangster when I heard it ages ago (the original).
I couldn't even listen to the whole thing because of the cheesy (most likely work-in-progress) lyric "I'm the blue gangsta!"

But the new version has made me love it! Aside from the dumb IM THE BLUE GANGSTA line, the track is soo good. The vocals alone and that hard beat! Love it now.

Justin Bieber....-_-! Wow, really? Did they not see the outraged that leaked cost last time? Well okay fine whatever! Guess this other Justin will also be a Ft in the next MJ single for "Slave To The Rthym?! But, please keep him away from the Billboard thingy pls!

Also has anyone else notice two possible errors in the booklet for the lyrics for "A Place With No Name" and DYNWYCR? In APWNN it says she startin LICKIN ME lol. I hear MJ say Liking me instead? If he is actually singin lickin me well damn mike...okay...lucky girl! lol and in DYNWYCR the word HA is there instead of hot. I hear HOT unless HA is actually being said in a sarcastic way in the song? What do u guys think?

Actually, he said that MJ's outtakes ("Xscape" tracks) are unlistenable and a "f**king b****hit".

Guys don't scare me, is it true that Bieber will feature on the next single or is it just a rumor? Cuz if it's true I will forever lose my faith in any projects they make. As a fan, I refuse that MJ becomes their tool to simply make money over his dead body. MJ deserves the appropriate consideration, not being a toy to promote Bieber, and frankly speaking MJ does not need Bieber's help for promotion either.

The Estate has already made a huge mistake with the inclusion of a soundalike on the Michael album and still hasn't remove those Cascio songs from MJ's discography, I hope that now they won't f**k up with Xscape promotion. I don't care if Bieber is LA Reid's "man"!

Bumper Snippet, I am not being rude, just having a conversation...

how is this not a double standard?

Did Michael need Timberlake for LNFSG to be a hit? According to Estate/Sony Michael did because that is the version they promoted. Bieber may admittedly be L.A. Reid's man however, where is the outrage at the Estate/Sony still catering to Anka?

I have not heard anything official yet, just rumors that seem to be pointing in the direction of a duet and maybe a Billboard performance of STTR.

JB probably will be performing with MJ hologram at the billboard awards. Because billboard is the only place where JB got awards from. Sorry guys, lol Just don't buy it and just enjoy the album. It's probably the fans got their solo MJ so lets give Bieber his duet, probably a contract thingy too. LA Wrote STTR so we get no say in who he puts on it. Welcome to show Biz! got to sometimes make deals, But we did get a pretty good album out of it. Like I said before setting Bieber up for a fall can't survive as a MJ copy cat but so long. Oh well not my kid not my problem, lol He'll learn the hard way like most pop fad acts change it up or disappear!

There is no double standard.
Did MJ sing Anka's song? Yes. It's released. Fine.
Did MJ dance and sing next to JT? Yes. So, to me it's fine to see him featuring on one song.
Did MJ invite JT to sing on WMCIG? Yes.

Now while JT has some sort of collaboration with MJ and had already been involved in mutual promotion (Dirty Pop appearance of MJ & Dancing Machine appearance of NSYNC next to MJ and J5), Bieber has absolutely NOTHING to do with MJ. Bieber's simply out of radar range and should stay that way.

NO!
He can have his duet... but NOT with MJ! I am damn serious! I will be disgusted forever if they let that happen!

I am very scared about the whole Bieber thing! However, I am not getting all work up before I see anything official.

The reason I am really scared is not because of the usual "I hate Bieber, blablablablabla" stuff, but because Bieber is actually REALLY unpopular. The scandals he has been involved in in the last couple years has made him very unpopular to the general public and he lost a whole lot of fans too.

On the positive side, I am seeing the LNFSG tv commercial in almost every commercial break!!!

I don't hate Bieber, I just hate the fact that anyone out there would associate Bieber with MJ or vice versa.

Ok i know how most are against this... and I am too. He's got a good voice... teens go crazy over him and so forth. But Most of all, he's a douche and has NO respect for others, he's only, what, 19? 20? He feels like he's achieved every damn award and wants to retire. He's egotistic and ignorant. He respects Michael, and i give him that, and ONLY that. All of these listed are indeed facts and just imagining him in the same song or stage as Michael... gives me the shivers...

We can only complain but i don't think it'll change LA's mind. like he said he wants to protect JB soooo...

I know Michael was and still is about love but i just can't handle this B.S.

It's actually kind of hilarious that the Black Keys drummer has a negative opinion towards Michael, and immediately fans are hating him for it. Not everyone in the world has to love Michael, you know.

Some fans are ridiculous.

The new short film for Blue Gangsta is the most perfect posthumous music video i have seen.... beautiful dedication to Michael's art.. i know this is something that Michael would have loved, Only a few days until the official charts are revealed... i hope Michael Debuts at where he should belong.

Bumper Snippet, thank you for responding however, I believe this to be a double standard because some like Timberlake and not Bieber. I dislike both and I continue to support Xscape.

Michael sang the song he co-wrote with Anka not Anka’s song. Siedah Garrett was not at the Grammys taking a bow for co-writing MITM so yes, Anka is receiving more than monetary compensation.

Michael performed with N’Sync twice onstage and the group was on WMCIG; not Timberlake alone. That does not warrant a posthumous duet because Beyonce, Usher, etc would have been just as eligible. If Timbaland was not the producer, you most likely would not have Timberlake on or near Xscape.

Most fans have already brought Xscape and Estate/Sony must continue to grab new audiences to continue the success of Xscape past the first week. Longevity will be the key Xscape's success. If Timberlake can bring in a new audience, so can Bieber with his million(s) of followers.

Well actually he was dissing Michael's music and talent so I get why fans react the way they did. Including me. :)

Agree that JB and MJ's STTR is the best in terms of being a major hit if released and promoted. It's really good IMO even though it eliminates the slow opening (with the chains sound in the background).

Preach!! to the WHOLE statement right Herre!!

Is it possible that some of you hate Beiber more than you like MJ?

If you consider boycotting 'any future products' then it might imply that.

Me? I have no love for JB. But I know he has more love for MJ than that 'nobody' from the black keys. And yet I see people defending him?

It takes all sorts, I suppose.

You're right, he has the right to dislike Michael and his music, that's perfectly fine. I'm more annoyed that he went on a completely childish and unprovoked attack on Michael's work, with many of his 'facts' not being even remotely correct.

"[It's] some ****ing bullshit that sucks so bad that it took them three years after he died to make it listenable," he tells Rolling Stone's Patrick Doyle. "Like he had to be dead for three years for it to be released." He suspects it finally saw the light of day because "L.A. Reid needed a new boat."

Well no, according to the Billboard magazine article, LA Reid first approached Timbaland about a year ago so it took around a year for the whole album to come together. Even then, a couple of the tracks (DYKWYCA, STTR) were remixed for Michael within the year after Michael's death, and they were certainly more than listenable. Hell, they were great tracks, I don't even know where he got the three year number from. Many of the songs have been 'listenable' ever since they were first leaked, upwards of a decade ago when The Black Keys were no-one.

He's obviously pissed that Xscape poses a threat to the #1 position he desperately wants (though, because the Black Keys are 'current', I think they will get #1). It's also clear that by doing this, he would get attention for his new album - the old saying goes "Any publicity is good publicity". It's not hard to conclude that he was attacking Michael's work so he could draw attention to himself and his new album. Any article that mentions this will mention his new album somewhere.

I couldn't care if he dislikes Michael, that's perfectly fine, but his attack was unprovoked, childish and lacked even basic facts.
