Been looking forward to this for quite some time and i recently read a news story saying that the Queen forever CD is getting a deluxe edition which will be released April 12th or the 13th and will feature the songs ...Victory and state of shock featuring both MJ and FM :) sorry if its already been mentioned.

what are you talking about the deluxe came out in november and it doesnt have victory

Yep, the deluxe edition is already out. Victory and SOS are not on there.

I think I saw the story Screamin was referring to. It was on a website called THE INQUISITOR yesterday but it made no sense whatsoever. Nobody else has reported a new special edition being released next week and the story seemed to be aimed at MJ fans rather than Queen fans. I don't know about this website but to me the story had no credibility.

Victory and State Of Shock are Michael's (Jacksons) songs. You won't see a Queen release with these songs.

I'd prefer solo demos on future re-releases of 'Victory' or maybe on a posthumous or a 1980-1989 decade album.

Not a single word about it on the Queen website, not even in the thread about the Queen Forever album on the website's forum.
So most likely bs.

I thought i read somewhere before that Victory was the only song out of the three that they actually developed together from top to bottom.

there is a quote from brian may from somewhere describing it as utter shit

After what they did to TMBMTLTT, I'm glad the Estate is holding State Of Shock and Victory. If the Estate release them on a posthumous album, they'd likely release the original versions.

I'm not a fan of State of Shock (either version) or There Must Be More to Life Than This, so I don't have much interest in hearing Victory. I think most of the public appeal comes from the fact that two of the most recognizable names in music history recorded together.

I don't know what it is about State Of Shock but I just can't get into that song. I like the version with FM and MJ just because of the rawness and energy, and because they're my two all time favorite artists, but the retail version, I don't know. Never been a fan of that song i must admit..

Glad to see someone else feels the same! I agree - as a song I can't find anything particularly wrong with it, but it's just one of those tunes that I never find myself wanting to listen to. Both Michael and Freddie/Jagger give great performances though.

I agree with you, it's not exactly my cup of tea and I feel like you can hear Jagger more than Michael.

Yeah, Willam Orbits new mix was pretty underwhelming, wasn't it?

I think layering two great vocalists on top of each other is a bad decision. I would rather hear MJ/FM have their own lines as opposed to hearing them compete against each other. And the instrumental lacked passion and oomph.

I'd rather stick with the demo tbh

So does anybody know what Brian May said about the song "Victory"? I kinda find it hard to believe that he'd talk smack about it.

I also have to say that "Victory" getting released at some point is the most exciting of the Michael/Freddie songs because unlike the other two this one has never been released in any form. So it will be interesting to finally hear it whenever the time comes.

the song 'Victory' should play in the ending credits of a future tour release...

State of Shock is up there for me among my favourite MJ recordings.
