I made this thread so we can all discuss the perfection that is known as Lady In My Life.
This song makes me feel SO many emotions.:blush:
It's like I'm right there with Michael, and he's singing to me or something (y'all better not laugh at me or think I'm weird for saying that).

Isn't it amazing.

Ahhhh-don't even get me started on that song.
I don't have the words on how much I love it and him.

Same.
I love him SO much. :D

I had actually found the shorter version of LIML before I found the full version, and when I discovered the full version and heard him say "Just come into my arms" I was like yasssss Michael, I'll DOLPHIN DIVE into your arms so you can make me feel right.

I will just add this and shut up. If I had met anybody even 1/4 that romantic in my real life, I would have slept with him the first night and we'd have 25 kids today.

Yes, it´s a wonderful song. Michaels voice, the lyrics, the melody, all...............

I'll just say this....

This song helped me with getting who is now my wife! was the first song I ever dedicated to her..

LOL, who wouldn't want a guy like that.
I think that MJ was/is everything that anyone could want in a guy.

he certainly is everything I've ever wanted in a guy, and the only one I've ever wanted. no one like him, I don't want nobody else

Quite slick on your part. :). Or smooth as you call it on another thread.

I recently watched Russell Wilson sing "Ladies in my Life" to his new bride Ciara and his mom. First time I got a little crush on a football player. It was sweet.

Agreed. In my opinion, greatest slow jam of anyone ever.

"The heart wants what the heart wants."
exactly! I don't want to settle just for the sake of settling, when it's not what my heart wants

I think it's a great ending to the Thriller album! I always love playing it at night, when you can hear the rain outside... :)

I just found this. Not my opinion, but here it is:
Few albums can be called perfect, but many other classic LPs fall just short of that status. Maybe it's an out-of-place experimental track or a throwaway song given to the drummer to sing - whatever the case, a single moment can nearly derail a near-flawless record.

In the below list of 25 Songs That Almost Ruined Classic Albums, the key word to keep in mind is "almost." Each album included is great from start to finish; they probably wouldn't be called classics if they weren't. But we're not ashamed to admit that once in a while we'll skip a song if the mood hits.
Michael Jackson, "The Lady in My Life" (From Thriller, 1982)
For a nine-song album that charted seven(!) Top 10 singles, it's hard to believe one track could bring it all crashing down just like that. But Thriller's closing "The Lady in My Life" is five minutes of overproduced sap that exits the album as if history wasn't made in the preceding 37 minutes. The Paul McCartney duet "The Girl Is Mine" comes close to diminishing the LP's momentum, too, but that historical summit has its place.

I think ‘baby be mine’ is the worst offender, with ‘the lady in my life’ being only slightly better..🫣

I listened to the album earlier today, which is something I rarely do (I’m not an ‘albums’ person). I tried to be open minded, but it just reinforced my belief that while ‘thriller’ has 5 of my favourite songs of all time, by any artist.. the rest isn’t that special at all. neither are the outtakes/demos, despite how beautifully michael sang them.

my favourite songs being; ‘wanna be startin’ somethin’, ‘billie jean’, ‘beat it’, ‘human nature’ & ‘thriller’. even then, it’s the edited single versions that I prefer and listen to always.

I sometimes pretend that ‘thriller’ is an ep🤔

I like the live versions of Beat It more than the album version. That's the worst thing I can say about the album.

I couldn’t disagree more with the ultimateclassicrock.com opinion.

I do agree with the statement that almost all albums have at least one dud. Thriller however for me is not one of them and another one is What’s Going On by Marvin Gaye.

The problem with 'The Lady In My Life' is that it closes the 'Thriller' album in a catatonic and depressing tone.

An album should end in a powerful and positive tone.
