The Estate "has numerous projects in development."

whatever 'rights' the Jackson brothers have on any material Michael is involved with I highly doubt they would decline an opportunity to make a financial gain off of it. If the Estate came to them about something, they'd all be ready.

I think so too. Why would they say no to a product that would make themselves look good. - Could actually help promote their current touring - and make them money?

There is only good things for all the brothers if concerts from their prime is released. - Hope a Triumph or Victory concert is soon released.

Assuming each of the Jackson Brothers needing to sign things off: Negotiation, using the leverage of them having to sign it off to get more money than what the Estate originally offered. Sure, they're not really in the position to demand it but they can try and very likely have.

Alternatively, for some of them it's not always about the financials but instead about the people running Michael's Estate and how much influence the brothers have over the Estate. I remember during the earlier years of the Estate, hearing some of the Jackson family members whine about how they should have more influence on Michael's legacy. If they don't like the people running the Estate, they're going to be less likely to just sign off anything.

well...the second leg from the Destiny tour is way better than the victory tour to me, judging from the available snippets. that's why I want a destiny and a triumph tour to be released on DVD or blu ray I dont care

I did not see anyone mention it but a Broadway play is probably one of the projects they mentioned. Since 2014 they mentioned that a Broadway play was in the works in the accounting documents.

and Thriller is fully confirmed in my mind. In the last month they even trademarked Thriller.

Again... as if there was nothing after Thriller.

I want Michael Jackson cereal!

I think we just are hoping to get some post Quincy love too.. Not taking that work for granted but would be nice to spread the love.

The estate should know by now that a concert release is a good release. If you can't get the brothers to sign off go with a solo concert. Preferably Bad or Dangerous tour. If they actually do this then "shut up and take my money!!".

yeap (y)

Honestly I'd just love a ~12 episode Netflix television series or something that tells the story of America's greatest musician. It would be a great way to document and tell Michael's lifestory in a way that's detailed, but still concise enough to be consumed by general audiences.

None of the "reproduced" crap with actors too, it's just way too easy to come off corny and cringy. Let's see the real thing! After all, Michael had so much shot and documented from the Thriller era onwards (question is finding it, but I imagine the Estate have a decent amount accounted for, going off Bad 25).

Yes, I can picture a documentary series like:

- One focusing on him as a singer
- One as a songwriter
- One as a dancer
- One as a pioneer in music videos
- One on the Jackson 5/childhood part

- And yes, one needs to be dedicated to the allegations to set the record straight (and please not in a lazy "we will never know the truth" way but actually properly addressing the allegations) - but they can leave this out if they want to stear away from controversy, but eventually there needs to be a documentary done on this topic that is actually good and not intellectually lazy or deliberately misleading.

Great ideas! I'd love to have Michael narrate it as much as possible. It's sad so many interviews that would give us soundbites focus on the controversial non-issues like his surgeries and what not.

I would welcome one on the allegations, something that's easily accessible that you can just point to when anyone has questions about the case. I'm yet to watch it but going off all the feedback I've seen online and from friends, Netflix did really well with Making a Murderer. Imagine if they produced a documentary on the allegations? Yes it would unfortunately shove them back in the limelight, but it would really help the longterm by helping set the record straight for people. It would be really good to hear from the jury members too, I'm not sure on the legal logistics of it all but I know they've done some interviews so it's possible to some extent?

Maybe they can find useful material among his home videos, studio audio outtakes (like that audio Brad Sundberg posted about Give in to Me), they could even use notes, letters, drawings (they already mentioned his manifesto from 1979 in the Bad 25 doc). I'd like less talking heads and interpreting his music and more letting it all speak for itself - or MJ speak for himself. They could even use parts of the Mexico deposition. I remember how impressive people found the Beat It demo. I think there are pleanty of opportunities, the material just has to be used well and with a vision - and of course with respect for MJ and his work.

Yeah! I swear I mentioned a few days ago about releasing studio chatter of MJ in the studio. I know they have some and it could be a great goldmine. The Beat It demo went viral in 2014 I recall, friends of mine at school brought it up and told me how awesome they thought it was, that they didn't know MJ would work that way.

Also re:Brad Sundberg posted about Give Into Me. Are you talking about that leaked snippet where we hear MJ sing Dig It and then talk about what would eventually turn into Give Into Me? Is that leaked from one of Sundberg's sessions or are you talking about something else?

Yes, this one.

Ah thanks, always wondered what the source of that one was!

They must have more, because alongside that and Groove of Midnight, you can also hear studio chatter on the demos for Don't Stop Til You Get Enough and Workin' Day and Night on the OTW Special Edition.

Xscape was squandered potential. The remixes were mostly pretty damn solid, but it's clear that the original demos were thrown on there to shut the fans up and neither the Estate nor LA Reid cared about their quality. They're the audio equivalent to the Vision box set -- about as good as standard resolution YouTube videos. (Chicago is in mono, for God's sake.)

Xscape ranks best for me, behind Bad 25 (2nd) and This Is It (1st).

Agreed. The demos were added to appease fans but other than that were unnecessary.

^ I'd rather have Bad and Dangerous. HIStory tour would only bring criticism on MJ.

I disagree. But do not want to argue. Different tastes. Old topic. It is more realistic we get to see HWT on dvd and Blu ray and in cinemas than DWT and BWT.

And it's more realistic we'd see any tour on DVD/Blu-ray/Streaming over cinema. Honestly I'd just prefer it to be released to Netflix so more people could see it. On a somewhat related note, This Is It is on Netflix atm. Was watching snippets of it in the background today!

Don't we already have Dangerous and Bad on DVD? And a million versions of History on YouTube? I'd prefer the Estate concentrate on Destiny, Triumph and Victory.
