Michael Jackson’s Halloween - New animated special coming this fall

Yes it is disappointing. The UK was a big market for mj and no tv channels want to by the show! The trouble may be the concept of a cartoon appealing to kids and the allegations. I have to admit a cartoon seemed like an of choice when i first head about it. Of course adults like cartoons too but many think of cartoons of being aimed at kids.

Absolute nonsense.

MJ was tainted by the false allegations more in the USA than anywhere else in the world, yet they are happy to show the cartoon on a major network.

UK TV, especially the major channels, are notoriously behind the USA when it comes to showing successful programs. The major channel schedules are also full many months ahead - of soaps, reality TV, and cookery shows, mainly!. The minor networks simply can't afford a new release like this.

There is no drama. This will be shown in the UK, or on Netflix, if it's deemed successful and worth paying for.

Edited to avoid arguments.
Have a good day. :)

I'm not going to waste my time arguing with someone who is, obviously, so negative. I've wasted enough of it on depressive people on here over the years. Life's too short.

Suffice to say. This Halloween project is a positive move by the Estate, and a major network like CBS showing it on prime time is massive. If people can't take the positives out of that, and enjoy it, then that's down to them and their reluctance to be happy about anything. I'm not being dragged into it anymore.

I'm not sure how the ratings will be since the World Series is on at the same time and it's a nail biter so far-this is from someone who doesn't watch sports. I hope they count DVR views.

That happened with Bad25 didn't it? It was on at the same time as some major sports event. They probably know it won't be able to compete against it, but hopefully the ratings will be respectable for what it's up against.

Time will tell.
Whether or not it's broadcast in England I will be watching and I'm looking forward to it.
I want it to be a success because the MJ Estate has plans for Halloween next year, which could be cancelled or scaled back if MJ's Halloween and the Scream album are not successful. They're a business at the end of the day and profit is what drives projects.

Exactly. They ran it on Thanksgiving night when half of America is watching football and the other half are out shopping Black Friday sales. I think 3 people (including me) watched Bad25. Lol.
I want this to be a big success.

I have to work tonight, but my DVR is all set to record! Can't wait to get home this evening and watch it!! Very excited!!

Rte2 is not generally available in the rest of the uk. There is no guarantee that other uk channels will show it just because rte2 does in Ireland.

RTE 2 is available on Virgin Media, ive set it to record ?

I am just going to tape it. Just to add it to my MJ collection. I am not watching it. Only because my depression and anxiety attacks won't let me watch it. And I would rather watch Ancient Aliens or Everybody Loves Raymond instead.

I have it recorded on my DVR. I'll be watching it tonight. I just hope it's good.

I just checked on cbs schedule. Is it only on for 30 minutes?? Thought it was supposed to be longer than an hour

They put it at the same time as both Stranger Things and the World Series are on????
How stupid is that?
Stranger Things is trending on Twitter.

All you need is to be registered. And it seems like it does not matter which country are you connecting from.

Hahahah, oh my God. That was laughably bad. Some of the mashups were pretty good though.

I thought it was alright. Flawed, but cute and fun. Could see this being a cult Halloween classic and something people can enjoy each year.

What I liked:
- The dance sequences were very well done and the mixes of the songs were great. That Torture mix... :kickass:
- Animation wasn't that bad
- Voice acting was actually well done.
- While the message is cliched, it's still appreciated, especially in today's world.
- Some of the dialog was pretty funny ("How do you de-rail a boat?")
- Thank God they used actual archival audio of Michael talking and not some shit impersonator (aside from the scene where he places the delivery order... although I'm going to assume that the "Michael" in this special was impersonating someone else when placing the order so he wouldn't give himself away, hence the voice he had in that scene).

What I didn't like:
- This may be a weird criticism, but I felt that Michael's music was kinda overplayed. I can understand it being there for the dance sequences because, well, those were dance sequences. But for scenes where the characters were just talking there was a song of his playing in the background when there probably shouldn't have been one. Many scenes probably would've been better with different or even no BG music. Was nice to hear some instrumentals, though.
- "Conformity"... that's really the best name they could come up with for the villain? -_-
- The dog urinating on a bad guy... oy... It didn't really offend me, but at the same time I didn't think that kind of humor fit with the rest of the special.
