Controversial MJ Documentary Leaving Neverland [GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD]

Mj died 2009
Mjs Legacy 2019
Thanks Estate for the „background work“

I seen this on Twitter.

This Doc is like watching a Trial and only getting to hear the prosecution and then going to deliberations for a verdict. lol.

I personally think it's a bad idea for any avid fan to watch this documentary as it risks destroying your own personal image of Michael for good - regardless if you go into watching it as staunch believer in MJ's innocence. I've saw many fans fall victim to this already which is incredibly sad. To repeatedly engrain idea's into someones mind is undoubtedly going to have an impact. This is Reeds intention and it's clearly been effective for some which is why people have self declared cancelling MJ.

This is exactly why I have avoided watching it. I have entertained the thought a few times if only just to see exactly what people are reacting to and know exactly the kind of filth that is being spread by this film, but at this point I feel like I've heard enough about it through the media and other people's comments that I'd rather not subject myself to it. I am continuously seeing the powerful emotional impact this film seems to be having on people and I'd rather not have these metal images in my mind at all.

As a child, I had to find out what words like f*g, pedo, and molester even meant through the things people were saying about Michael after the first accusations, to the point where I felt like I couldn't even talk about him or openly listen to his music without being ridiculed. Michael has been such a large part of my life for as long as I can remember that when people say these kinds of things about him it hurts me as deeply as if someone was saying these things about someone in my own family.

Didn't Elvis have a 14 year old or 15 year old wife?

Should places ban his music?

The documentary isn't that strong if you know about them before watching it. I watched the whole thing without batting an eyelid.....shook my head and laughed to myself at some of the crap in it.

Like I said, its separating the weak from the strong and I would bet a lot of money that some of the fans that have been swayed only became fans just before or after his death, never having to deal with anything like this before. First bit of pressure and theyve crumbled, simple as that. Theyve had it easy the last 10 years.

Dan Reed is a real piece of work for defending himself when people call the movie one sided. A couple few second clips of MJ denying it and a few second clip of T-Mez. In 4 hours! I'd have more respect for him if he admitted it was one sided. Do they want money? "They want justice". How much "justice" is there in trying to take hundreds of millions of dollars from the charities Michael left his money to and his kids inheritance?

I think it is about time for this entire thread to end.
People go listen to Michael Jackson's music; or watch a Michael Jackson video instead.
I suggest this one; because Michael Jackson's smile is so...Refreshing:
ENJOY!!!!

Did you guys see the video of Michael Trapson? He watched LN and Oprah live and he gives his comments on everything. In a dark time like this it's fantastic to have a dude like him because I find him funny as hell. He's obviously mad at these liars and the director, he calls out fake fans, calls out MJ tribute performers making money off him but aren't supporting him. Also said..

When I see Wade, it's a wrap. I'm from the streets.

Hahaha. Like I said, it could provide the laughs you need in a ****ed up time like now.

At the same time, social media is hell at the moment and you come to his fan forum to kind of find solace and you hear the same stuff you do on Twitter.

People have calmly presented these people with facts as well and theyve been ignored, same as Twitter. I have no patience for doubters at the moment.

I agree completely. Stacey and I are trying to create a calm space here, for people who are loyal to Michael. This is perhaps one of the few sane and safe havens left in MJ fandom.

Even if people do wanna air their doubts and negativity, which I personally have no problem with, there’s a thread in the Trials section. I’m not one for banning people with dissenting opinions, however, as others have stated, this is a difficult time and I think we just need a space where we can try and be positive about this.

I’m sure most of us are hearing constant misinformed garbage elsewhere, both online and in real life, so for now, I think we should all attempt to be positive and support each other. God knows we all need it right now.

tbh what is about the freedom speech? Imo when „fans“ have doubts its the wrong way to ban them. That's why the Social Media say that we are fanatics... this is Not Good. When somebody has doubts let give him facts to destroy their doubts

Have to say, I agree...we are offended far to easily, let's educate them with facts instead, but on the note of aqwsz he wasn't a very nice person and was enjoying being a c**t to us all here, for me, you be like that I will as owner/founder bypass every regulation and cut straight to kicking you out of my house.

Wade, his wife and his sister are lying about the timeline of their dinner at Neverland in 2005 to help spin their narrative. Proven.

Wade's wife can not keep her story straight about whether she was abused or not. In Leaving Neverland she says she had no idea about child sexual abuse and it's effects. One way or another, she is lying. Proven.
Proven because Taj says so?
Were talking 2005 which would make it hard for either side to remember where the helle they were.
Or is there video of the event?

I'm just gonna say it here now, i hope people like Speed Demon will receive a ban. Beyond tired of posters like this that truly feel like I am talking to a hater. This poster earlier today already said that we'd still defend him if proof came out that he did it and now this poster said it to me personally, you've really REALLY gone too far there mister/woman.

If you have issues with certain posters you can report their posts.bottom left of post the triangle. You also put a poster on ignore so you wont see their posts. Go onto settings and on the left you will see ignore list.add their name to it

Why then, did channel 4 remove the segment from the film after Taj high lighted it? Very suspicious

The meaning of this post from Carol LaMere on Facebook is clear
I am tired of people calling me to talk about Michael Jackson.and say mean things about him!!! I am not going to argue with them
And don't forget Michael Jacohabsen

The tweet about Wade wanting to marry in 2005 in Neverland was posted already, right?

Check out @Caramelicedtea’s Tweet:

Ratings of the documentary in holland are just released:

609.000 viewers. That’s not a lot knowing that 16 million people live in our country. A modest win for us fans.

One of the issues we have often discussed here in relation to this whole mess is the defamation laws in relation to the deceased. I am no legal expert but does anyone know if the estate can use the law of Tortious Interference? As I understand it, this is a business/ product law that prohibits someone from intentionally damaging someone's business contract with another party. Essentially we should think of MJ as a business or product (which he undoubtedly is for the Estate and whoever they do business with). I have tried linking the Wikipedia article here but I am having trouble doing this on my phone.

I hate it that people can upload Leaving Neverland all over Youtube.
A place for very young people and children.
Its now a free availible child porn propganda movie supporting peodo phantasies from loving relationships and enjoyable sex between adults and children!

I will mentioned it again why this film is so emotional and hard to watch.
I think also its much harder and emotiomal to watch for a MJFan compared to non Fans!

The most part of its shockvalue gets the film from its pioner character.
People hear someone for the very first time talking about sexual acts between men and children in grafic details and possible loving relationships.

This is a break of an taboo.
Like people start talking about gay acts in the eighties or you can see them the first time on the screen.

When you expirinced something the very first time it can be always very emotional!

Then when they telling you all this stories and describing you all this things they repeatetly say the name Michael and showing you pictures of him and videos (you mainly didn't see before).
Alone seeing the pictures, videofootage and hearing the name Michael whould make you feel something as a fan cause its someone you more or less love and is a stromg part of your life.
It triggers you absolutly.

That you hear things you never heared before by seeing michael often with the two man as boys on the screen (in maybe phtoshoped pictures) making you see pictutes in your mind which are very disturbing, painful and hard to endure content.
This hits absolutly strong!!!

But they are all manipulated fantasies not reality!
Its a brainwash which will go away!

For fans who can not resist to watch LN is maybe a gut idea., to make 2 runs.
First run were you only watch without any sound.
Second Run with only the sound on a dark screen.
I think it will have a better effect on you and will let you see less disturbing images in your mind!
It will leave you with less more doubts about a man you know and studied intensly for a very long time since you become a fan.

And I want say that the music and sounds in LN has a strong manipilated effect too!

I think that just shows how sensitive Reed is. Shame more journalists don't question him that would really show his colours.

On another note all my friends so far, even those in the past who believed their might be some truth to the allegations, all think this time it's all just for the money.
