"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

Sadly, what we believe, deny, or confirm is not the issue. All of us have a special place in our hearts for MJ. Nobody can take from his talent and his musical legacy. He was a brilliant performer, and he is still beloved.

But when MJ took his last breath in 2009, we can assume he was unhappy about the character legacy he left here on Earth. Those children that he wanted to be here to raise did not have the chance to have their father. That is what most likely hurt him the most in the end. There is a reason that he is no longer here with us, and we do not have to agree about those circumstances.

I think, on some level, MJ was disappointed that the "public" acquitted him of those charges in 2005. It is most likely why he couldn't sleep at night and had to use powerful drugs to forget all of the things that he had done in the past. He wasn't found guilty, but it does not mean he was innocent of conducting inappropriate relationships. He couldn't live on stage, and ultimately, what he did off it destroyed some of his legacy. No matter how many threads and forums we create, suspicions won't ever be erased dating back to 1993.

But the biopic will be a success. Millions of fans around the world will see it. It will more than likely make more than the Bohemian Rhapsody movie.

He was terrific but "something evil was always lurking in the dark...."
I don't know how you can say anything like this do your research! Michael would of cut his throat rather than hurt a child in any shape or form! The only thing he was guilty of was being a manchild! Not in his professional life as such but his personal. This I personally saw in the time I met him in Prague! Did you?

exactly what do you mean by ''inappropriate relationships''???? sorry but all michael did was try and help gavin i mean sure maybe sleeping in bed with him and other kids wasnt smart but HE DID NOTHING WRONG! your post makes u seem like a hater im sorry but it does 😡
Let's put the sleeping in a bed to rest also let another rumour be squashed! Michael did not sleep in same bed! He slept on floor and gave his bed up for said child or guest! Also Michael's bedroom was the size of a floor of a hotel! So how the hell people can comprehend how big that was and also lots of kids stayed over!
But so did there parents!

So this site just allows out and proud guilters on here to spew their trash??

SMDH

Please tell me these kinda posts are against the rules????

I mean it's not unreasonable to think that freaking guilters shouldn't be allowed on a fan site right?

I think the fandom should have some standards, and someone who believes Michael is guilty should not be welcome in our spaces.

Well I guess it depends what you consider an inappropriate relationship. Is a 35 year old man being close friends with teenage boys inappropriate? In my view, yes. But does that mean he molested anybody? Well the evidence in a court of law doesn't support that, and with all the charlatans surrounding every single claim made against him how could anyone bet on any of the cases being legitimate?

For all we know, this man´s life was X-RAYED during the trials and supposedly also by the FBI. NO evidence was found at all!

What are you insinuating?

I think MJFan1986 has a penchant for the dramatic - "oh something evil was lurking in the dark". If they firmly believe he's a pedophile why are they a fan and whya re they here on a fan forum? If I truly believed Michael molested children I wouldn't be bumping his music. But I don't. Nor do a panel of 12 jurors.

Who is Angela Bassett & Viola Davis supposed to be? It can't be Katherine Jackson, she was around 35 or 36 when Janet was born. Angela & Viola are either late 50s or mid 60s in age. It's better to get a younger actress and put old age prosthetics makeup on them than to get an older one to play someone decades younger. I don't think this is the type of movie where they're going to spend a lot of money to de-age with CGI like with Marvel movies.

We obviously don't know how they will handle Michael's death but most biopics unfortunately end in tragedy.

I honestly think they will end the film with live footage of MJ performing Man in the mirror but before that...

There could be images of the fans crying , outside his Hollywood star , apollo theatre, trafalgar Square etc , the gold casket.

Have music and me playing over the top of it. I want people to cry , I want them to feel sorry for Michael and understand what he went through.

Yeah, I know all that. I don't really have a strong view on this. They could just as easily go for someone who isn't already a big established star. It all depends on how much time they want to spend on different parts of Michael's life. If the main emphasis is 80's and 90's either Viola or Angela could probably do it. Make-up and good lighting go a long way or they could just use a different actress for younger Katherine. But I really don't know. I'm not particularly invested in this, I just thought it was a mildly interesting question. It's easier for them if they pick a younger actress. Otoh, Angela or Viola have the acting chops and the star reputation so who knows?

Well, obviously. It's a drama. Lots of talking heads.

I am getting more hyped for this movie by the day. I think it's going to be tough to do Michael's story justice but they've got great talent behind this. The big question mark will be the acting ability of Jafar Jackson and now the kid they've picked up to play young Mike. Both can do him justice in remakes of his performances but can they show us the man behind the mask?

Didn't you read what @Hiker wrote? here: https://www.mjjcommunity.com/thread...icially-happening.200390/page-47#post-4649537

What's this got to do with the biopic? lol just asking
Nothing, really. :D

I was just making an idle point - which I now wish I bloody hadn't bothered with, lol - re whether an actress of Angela's age (65) could play a younger Katherine. I personally think it's entirely possible for her to play Katherine covering the 1980's and 1990's. DuranDuran was making the point that Angela Bassett or Viola Davis (58) are both far too old to play her. Whereas I think a younger actress can cover Katherine in her 20's and 30's. Then an experienced star actress takes over the story from 1970. Katherine is in her 40's all through J5, Jacksons, OTW. It could be done, imo. I posted the picture of Angela to show what a 65 year old actress looks like these days. Hardly decrepit or covered in wrinkles! Look at those toned upper arms, fgs! I think either Angela or Viola could knock this out the ball park, easy. That's assuming either one of them would even be interested in playing Katherine. Who knows?

I seriously don't even care so I'll bail out. Y'all have fun speculating.

Angela Bassett could defo still play Katherine, she looks amazing for her age.

Plus it's more than likely to mainly focus on adult Michael so Katherine would have been in her 40s, 50s 60s anyway.

Let her do her thing

Well, that's kinda the point I was making. I'd be surprised if we got loads from Katherine's younger years. The film is only going to be so long, there's tons to cover, Michael's peak years are arguably the 80's and 90's, career-wise. We're going to see more of mature Katherine than we will of young Katherine. And maybe less of her than of Joe, in any case.

We just have to wait, I guess.

I know it was, you don't have to explain yourself to me 🙂

You were trying to explain that she still looked great so could play Katherine. Your post absolutely had relevance to the movie btw.

I know. I was just thinking out loud. Having started with very low interest in all of this I'm now playing around in my mind how much time might be given to various aspects of Michael's story. I really wasn't bothered before. Now I'm increasingly fascinated by how they will try to balance it all.

👍

This really needs to be at least 2 films. That is the only way to do Michael's story justice because there's too much of his life story to fit into just one film.

Maybe they will make it a 3 hour film? What are the chances? How much of the general public would sit through a 3 hour MJ film? I would think his life was interesting enough lol
