Never got into the Three Stooges so I didn't know this.

1. Just how thoroughly involved Michael was in the entire process of short films, even at the age of 23 or 24 with Thriller.
2. The use of unspoken homage that is HIDDEN. Unless people dig deep, they won't really know.
3. Michael used the name "apple head" as a term of endearment, which came from the Three Stooges as well. (Confirmed by Taj.)"

He even hid an "applehead" in the Scream short film "gallery" ("Scream" is more like a classic music video, though

) The applehead allusion in Scream just "hit me" some weeks ago when I rewatched Scream again. The artworks in the gallery have always been intriguing to me, because we know Michael, and he certainly wouldn´t just choose random stuff

Absolutely. I've just been re-reading a little piece about the paintings which is quite interesting, I think. The comments about the Pollock piece and the Magritte (especially the stuff about sci-fi and fantasy) is fascinating. Even if the director had some say in the paintings to be included I can't help but think the final choices were all Michael.The applehead allusion in Scream just "hit me" some weeks ago when I rewatched Scream again. Oh - Warhol. Well, lots of connections. Michael and Andy met each other multiple times in the 1980's (mentioned in Andy Warhol's diaries) and, of course, Warhol did the 1984 painting of Michael for Time magazine. Also, as a child Warhol wanted to be a dancer. Perhaps he and Michael talked about that, who knows? Andy had a severe illness as a child but also had health problems later in life. A serious skin condition (some say vitiligo, some say roseaca, I've seen various suggestions). He also had a problem with his hair, iirc. Possibly he had alopecia and had lost all of his hair. I've not tried to verify this but he did wear wigs from his early 20's.I wonder why he chose a portrait of Warhol .... maybe a nod to his "wild" times at studio 54 while he was on the WIZ filmset?
They were both very famous, both got lots of criticism. Michael was interested in art. Andy did the Elizabeth Taylor painting. I think they would have quite a lot to talk about. And Andy is such an iconic figure. Mysterious. Misunderstood.
