The Discussion of MJ's Unreleased Tracks

Who remember when I was giving tittle can't come back as unreleased song before a year or 2

Several songs Jackson recorded for Bad remain unreleased: “Bad Company,” “Broken Chair,” “Buffalo Bill,” “Crack Kills,” “Get Back on Me,” “The Hunt,” “Tomboy,” “What You Do to Me.” One song, “Cheater,” was released on 2004’

Man… I go back and forth beteeen these two songs. For All Time is actually my favorite MJ ballad of all time and I prefer it over SYPYHO. But with that being said, I think that SPYHO would fit on Dangerous better thematically.
I think For All Time is a bit too similar to Human Nature, but I agree it’s a good song.

It’s such a toss up! I agree SPYHO would fit Dangerous better and FAT would’ve been a good b-side to something like RTT or Who Is It

So 'Messin Round' has 'Teddy Do Overdubs' written next to it. Seems that there was are already a main vocal track on that song..?
Didn’t we get a Dangerous era leak? The vocals don’t sound complete and just mumbles

I don't know actually. But 'Teddy do overdubs' sounds like it's finished except for background vocals..? I'm not a producer so I'm just assuming here

On the other hand: would the Estate release unfinished demo's (like the Messin' one on Bad 25) if there are (more) finished versions..?

OD means simply adding new layers of instruments, vocals or sfx.

The song was reportedly finished for T25.

Do we know what that means? Were new vocals recorded in 2007/2008 or were it like with For all time were just the production of the latest version was edited?
Idk, could be anything.

This is all we know:

According to reports, Jackson plans to spruce up the 25th anniversary addition of the album by adding four remixes of Thriller tracks. Those lending a helping sequined gloved hand on the remixes for “Wanna Be Startin’ Something,” “The Girl Is Mine,” “Billie Jean,” and “P.Y.T.” are Kanye West, Akon, and Will.i.am. Additionally, Jackson’s music attorney Peter Lopez says four leftover tracks from the Thriller sessions will be featured. One of the songs, “Don’t Be Messin’ Around,” is hyped as “killer” by *****’s ex-producer Bruce Swedien.

Bill Bottrell on PE/ES:

Yes, as I recall. Planet earth is from Dangerous sessions. The grand suite never came together.

Sure, IDK what they did there, maybe they re-did it.
What me and MJ did during Dangerous was a sweeping orchestral piece with spoken words from MJ. George Del Barrio did the orch arrangement. It was long.

Yeah, so I think the poem is the same but they went without the orch.
I always loved the poem.

Whatever version that was officially released for Don't Be Messin' is definitely not "killer", IMO.

Yes exactly, but then that would mean that Messin Round' already had main vocals but the version we know.. well those main vocals are not finished right?

Bill:

State of Shock was brought to me in 1984. It was a rave-up of amazing energy from Freddie and Michael.
I was disappointed when I heard the Mick version, obviously because Mick was on the same label.

MJ told me David Williams played guitar at Hayvenhurst on the Freddy version.

No what we have heard it's definitely too little to be 'killer' (another indication for a more finished version)

Although people were also very enthusiastic about 'Man in Black': turned out to be basically nothing too..

(Regarding Deep In The Night) "No, it's not "my work". It's one of many that MJ brought to me at Record One to just see what I could do. Usually all I did was a rough mix. Many songs I spent 6 hours on experimenting, mixing."

So maybe Deep In The Night really was produced by Bryan Loren?

I messaged Bryan Loren years ago about Deep In The Night because I heard it at Brad's seminar.

He told me he wrote Deep In The Night for Invincible. What was leaked is from Brad's seminar and is out there does not sound like it would've been from Invincible.

isn't deep a MJ/Buxer track?

The leaked file also has a 1990 date so he's ten years off.

Loren is not off. Both are not the same. MJ recorded a song called Deep In The Night in 1990. Loren had no clue about that song. The song Loren wrote for Invincible was pure coincidence it had the same name.

As for the Invincible song that Loren wrote, I don't think he could confirm that was ever recorded by MJ.

Bill:

I'm gonna keep repeating this and then stop.

Between BAD/hayvenhurst and Dangerous there must be 20 or so 4-hr sessions I did to "see what I could do with it" These came from diverse places and people.

Think of "State of Shock" for instance. I was able to "find the best essence" of the home demo, and MJ was able to hear how to proceed with it.

I know about the laptop theft. You say Brad "doesn't leak" but Brad IS the leak. This is the leak I am interested in.
Does he play rarities from Bruce or Teddy's locker?
So it's kind of ironic a thief stole from a thief.
