Do you remember the first song you wrote?
It was called Nightmare and it was a really simple bass line repeated over and over. I was very much into Michael Jackson at the time so it probably had a few ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ and the odd ‘yee hee’ in it. I wish I had a recording of it.

Snyder Gets Animated for Ga’Hoole
Monday, April 14, 2008
Animation will be handeld by Animal Logic in Sydney, Australia, which made its mark in animated features with director George Miller’s Oscar-winning Happy Feet. That film was also produced by Village Roadshow and distrbuted by Warner Bros.
With music videos for Michael Jackson and Morressey under his belt, Snyder made his feature directorial debut by boldly tackling a remake of the George A. Romero zombie classic Dawn of the Dead in 2004. The gamble paid off at the box office, but it was $456 million worldwide for 300 that really wrote his ticked.

Masterful soul with a real African edge
Mark Espiner, Evening Standard 14.04.08
Perhaps nodding at his own anniversary (he turns 75 this year) the Cameroonian saxophonist played with the skill of experience but spark of youth. His jazzy, soulful sound — powered by a rhythm section that had James Brown’s backing band’s beat but fused with an African percussive edge — proved his place in musical history. His 1972 song Soul Makossa is claimed as the first disco record and its infectious refrain appeared in Michael Jackson’s Wanna Be Startin’ Somethin’.

Terri Cheney tackles bipolar stigma in Manic: A Memior
Monday, April 14, 2008
Composed as a series of episodes, "Manic" details Cheney's life as a scrambled nightmare. She takes an array of pills to balance her mood. It doesn't help. Her father accuses her of being a pill-popper. Between defending high-powered clients in the courtroom, such as Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones and Universal Studios, she experiences frightening situations that lead to jail and a padded lockdown.

Newark Bears: We saved the best for last. Newark will serve omelets made by Bears General Manager John Brandt to all mothers on Mother's Day, May 11, and all mothers receive free admission when they show a Mother's Day card.
Fans can redeem a reduced ticket to the game May 30 when they bring a New Jersey toll ticket on "The N.J. Tolls Increase Extravaganza."
"Biggest Loser Night" on May 31 will allow fans 14 reduced ticket prices. Children can jump on a scale and pay a penny for every pound they weigh (rounded up to the nearest dollar).
They will also host "Michael Jackson's 50th Birthday Celebration" July 18, promising an appearance by "MJ himself."
Just a guess, but we expect former Riversharks shortstop Milko Jaramillo.

Continuing a winning formula
By Sarah Rodman Globe Staff / April 14, 2008
In the party category, we get "I'm That Chick" and "Migrate." The former, the album's best track, takes some of the melody and the feathery vocal approach of Michael Jackson's "Off the Wall." "Migrate," a frivolous, funky, self-referential jam, charts the flight patterns of your modern, fabulously talented urban diva - from the car to the club to the bar to the VIP lounge to the after-party to the hotel - with computer-processed vocals from the unshakable T-Pain.
