A Film Release Of Michael Jacksons Bad Tour 1988/89! PETITION | All help needed!

Do we have any insight into how the Dangerous Tour is formatted? I'd love to see the August 23rd show.

Judging by the quality of Bucharest DVD I would assume it was shot on Beta tape. Dangerous tour onward they used better cameras. No info on film though.

I wonder if the US concert clips in APOM (Bad 25) are from the same concert as the Bad jacket clips in Moonwalker Man in the Mirror?

This is great news. Should we start sharing the hashtag?

Beta tape > Umatic > VHS. I dont know why Mj didnt record all his shows on Bata instead of Umatic. It was already outdated back then.

Umatic was still an industry standard when it came to fast editing/archiving.. they also updates the specs of the system one or two times.
I`m rather certain they used BETA by the time they got in `89 LA. There`s more detail in that footage.

Agreed. LA 89 looks much better. Supports the rumor that it was intended for release at some point.

I'm 99% sure that all the US clips, except for one that is from NYC, is from Minneapolis and most likely the same concert as Bad jacket MITM in moonwalker

More than likely, anyone else notice the tiny snippet of Michael walking off the stage at the end of Man In The Mirror in the BAD 25 documentary? Clearly film, and a show without The Way You Make Me Feel.. Could it be Minneapolis too? Certainly a possibility.

It's the same wembley footage.

While on this topic, I think it was extremely lazy of Spike Lee to only make a new version of APOM and not MITM. I remember seeing it on TV when it aired and the quality just looked atrocious. And the fact that it was cropped didn't make it any better. It was the only complaint I had about the documentary.

Edit: Actually I think this is unbelievable that we have to start a PETITION to get ONE single concert released in good quality!! It's not like we're asking them to to find big foot, we're just asking for one concert in good quality. I have never, ever, ever seen this treatment for another musician.

Not from the Wembley DVD, there's a few seconds from a different show with Michael in the BAD jacket in the documentary. I think we are on about 2 different clips. Back on topic As many have mentioned the estate are a business. But would you really want future generations to have to deal with near unwatchable VHS tape of Michael's greatest tour? I think not, Michael's talent needs to shine. If you show the people the genius at his peak, I'm sure even non-fans will be impressed.

I watched the the bad25 blu ray and there is no other MITM clip during the ending of MITM on the documentary. Is it perhaps on another place in the docu?

Edit: Oh okay I see what clip you're reffering to. That's Bad from the pensacola rehearsals and it's not film.

I watched it at Tiff on a big IMAX screen. MITM wembley looked horrible as you can imagine. Spike should have re edited MITM moonwalker footage also.
Edit : Almost at 2500!

They probably used it because they wanted to promote the Wembley DVD.

So, no big influencers shared it yet. though we will reach the 3.000 soon.
Any ideas how to spread the word?

alright i guess we'll let this petition die?

the detail.

I tweeted to MJFANGIRL TV last week but she didn't answer. Maybe we should try contacting them again. Also maybe someone who knows how to use photoshop could make some forum signatures to promote the campaign.

Having two autographed photos from this tour, it would be great to finally have a show in 1080p at minimum to show the grandkids in the future (don't plan on having any children of my own yet). Back on topic, you guys are doing great! 3000 signatures already, what's the latest on Michael Trapson Kai?

he hasn't been online on whatsapp.. its a bit frustrating.

I hope we can get someone with a lot of followers to share this.

Pierce Morgan maybe? - wasn't it him who said we were in for a nice surprise - then pulled back - and then it was the new MJ radio?

Taj maybe, Sugarfoot - maybe Paris? - Maybe some of MJ's brothers - if a new MJ concert is released it is more likely that a J5/The Jacksons concert will also be released and that way they will make money, so maybe they have an interest?

I don't know who has many followers and would be able to share this petition and video?

I saw this on Youtube:

3,757 have signed the petition.

The Blu-Ray when and if its released will need different colouring compared to BAD 25.. I don't think I'm alone when I say that either. #GetWarrenEaglesBack

I watched the Moowalker Blu-Ray few days ago. Man in the Mirror performance looks amazing but the color grading could be bit better. The petition has almost 4000 signatures.

Maybe we should try to get the #MJBadTourHD hashtag trending soon? It might not be easy but I think we should try.

I noticed the bad wembley dvd they put on the michael jackson youtube channel now has 5.5 million views..

warren eagles misremembered, i'm sure.
there is most likely no full length, multi camera show on film. Bits and pieces of random parts? Sure. Countless reels of crowd shots? Absolutely. An abundance of APOM and MITM footage? Of course, as they were shot for a reason.
But to film an entire concert on film, to even get to the same level of Yokohama, would require a lot of prep work and the presumption it would be done for some type of theatrical release. 8 to 10 camera men at least.

You may notice that the Dangerous Tour wasn't even shot on film, and that was made in mind to broadcast on TV at the time.

That red-shirt film shot footage from 87 we have was filmed for the purposes of that mini documentary, and even that was a 2 camera shoot.

Were you part of the filming crew back then?

You can see many different cameras filming the Liverpool concert in Moonwalker. I took these screenshots some years ago:
2 cameras front of the stage(can't be sure if both of these are from Liverpool):

One camera on the stage with Michael(It doesn't look like a stadium so it could be Liverpool):

One camera on the back of the stage

Near the mixing tower(these might not be from Liverpool):

2 cameras far back in the crowd:

Also there could be one camera on the side of the stage like in Another Part Of Me in Bad 25. To me it looks like that full concert film could be made. That is many cameras.
