Announcement: Hollywood Tonight – Second Single - Announcement From Sony Page 26

Sorry, guys, but Michael didn't do Monster song. It's not him, it's someone else.

They need to release this song on all the pop radio like they do for other artists today and let the public decide. I don't understand take it by ear approach and there was no shock and awe for HMH. I doubt many non fans heard the song when it was hardly played on pop radio at all. When Lady Gaga, Eminem, Black Eyed Peas, Rihanna release a song what they get is what I want for Michael. 600 radio stations played Britney Spears new song. HT sounds better to me than that song. No offense to any Britney fans. I want people to hear his songs. I don't know why it's so difficult.

American radio doesn't give big airplay to older artists. If an artist is over 40 they will never get the airplay that Rihanna and the other younger artists are getting. So don't get your hopes up, it's not likely that MJ would get heavy airplay. Sad, but true.

I wish they would make an exception and give the new single lots of airplay, I really do, because it's a great song and deserves it.

Nice one. Just going to post something similar. Madonna's last few albums had songs that piss all over Gaga & co, but alas she's over 50 so is all but invisible.

Whether MJ was alive or not, it's unlikely his airplay would be massive on most stations.

I know it won't be exactly the same but at least let people hear the song enough to know about it. It's not fair.

Yes, weather you believe its MJ or not, Monster is the most commercial single on the album and will have the best chance of pushing album sales up!

The general music buying public will love it. Most people who are not big MJ fans still do not know this album exists and HT & Monster will get them into the shops to buy 'Michael' as well as the singles.

I'm glad Monster will be the 3rd single. Best song on the album.

If there is gonna be a third and final single then it should be Behind The Mask. Most people love this song. Even some of the albums harshest critics have said positive things about it.

^ I don't appreciate the sarcasm. I was told directly that they plan to release Monster as the third single. It was initially planned as the 2nd single but they thought some fans would need time to cool off so HT would be a better choice for now. The details are all being finalized as to what countries are going to have the single. The single style for HT will be different than HMH. Expect it to go to radio first and based on that response it will determine the date of the I-tunes release, etc. They are taking a more "take it by ear" approach opposed to the shock and awe approach used for HMH. Monster is slated as the 3rd and final single from the album.

Hi,

I can only speak for myself when I say that if by now I have not changed my mind about Monster, I don't believe it will be any different by May. I hope HT is the last single released if Monster is the 3rd option. Wether one believes Michael sings 100% or not, I dont believe this song represents the genious that was Michael.

:D
Ditto!

I love HT. - GREAT choice.

I just hope BTM will also get a single release.

I hope that if HT is released as a physical single it will also have BOJ on it.

Many singles should be released.

Not that it really needs to be pointed out but you've only ever posted information AFTER Damien Shields in most cases and most other stuff has been very vague or hasn't happened at all. ie the MASSIVE promotion that was coming. And 'shock and awe' ? It was barely a whimper.

Also the amount of times you've changed your mind about whether or not you think it's Michael.. OR how you said they indeed did use someone to fill in the vocals then backtracked.

Behind the Mask needs to be released as a single, because it
is simply a Masterpiece of Music.

I agree. It is the only song I have been playing consistently. I am disappointed it is not the 2nd single, but maybe next time.

I don't think the title of this thread reads "opportunity to bash Smooth over past situations". Especially when you seemingly don't really understand the information that was given to him by other sources, and not himself.

For now, all this fake talk is just rumor to the general public. But release Monster and confirm to the rest of the world what most fans already know. Even the tiny bit of confirmation of hearing an impostor will effectively kill this album, and will undoubtedly affect any album that Sony and The Estate plans to release in the future. And MJ or not, those stupid lyrics and the person singing are annoying as h*ll. IMO.

good choice...but there are so many great songs in this album,it's hard to choose;-)

Oh btw. no one wants to listen to some random guy talking over Hollywood Tonight.

And nobody wants to hear some random impersonator singing false Michael Jackson songs.

Just saying.

Geez, I must be tone-deaf too. Although I assume the original poster who you replied to must be opinion-deaf too.

Monster is Fantastic...those who disagree are in denial...
Monster is utter shit regardless of whoever's on there.

Hasn't this album failed yet? Damn - call me when it does.

Monster is a very controversial song and it's not something special. It has a good beat but it's the same beat that we have heard in numerous songs so far. Sony should release Behind the Mask and then move on. I can't believe how much they f@$%ed up this project. If Michael's music legacy is in hand of this kind of incompetent people, then it is doomed (seriously).

I thought the false vocals discussion was confined in those four special threads Gaz created and forbidden in the rest of the forum. SMDH.

it's much better to be deaf than blind whom don't accept the reality that there is fake in this album

Hallelujah for Hollywood tonight

Cross the fingers for Behind the mask & another day as 3rd single.

Until you can offer us some proof of what you are claiming, please keep this kind of talk out of this thread.

So let me get this straigh, he can't say that glad HT is the 2nd single and that he's also hoping for BTM to be the 3rd single while these guys say these things:

I think you're in the wrong thread if you wanna talk about that.

You and the person who you were replying in that post are also in the wrong thread since you're obviously talking about something else but HT being the second single.

Now Eric, how was mehdiblanket offtopic by saying what he said? While the users I quoted above are talking about the ****** authenticity of the vocals in other songs and the failure of the album (AGAIN!!! Even though there are threads were they can discuss that) while this topic is decidated to Hollywood Tonigh being the 2nd single off the album.

Yeah. The absolute worst thing for them to do is to get the general public and media fully involved in this debate regardless of whether you believe it's MJ or not. It will have a huge ripple effect on every future song that is released. Some people will question "Is that really MJ"? I've already read somewhere that the majority of listeners on one urban radio station in the US believe the song is not MJ. I can't believe that Sony would take such a risk on a song that is not really that exceptional IMO.

I am very rapidly believing that Sony are capable of anything, no matter how stupid or risky. I don't think we've seen the end of the f*ck-ups. Not by a loooong shot.
