I do find it depressing being a MJ fan at times. There are still very few things referenced about him by mainstream media that don't mention the child abuse nonsense even when this has no relevance to what is being discussed/written about. It's like they have all made a pact to brainwash the public to make his name synonymous with child sexual abuse, therefore they refuse to mention one without the other.

And yet despite all this MJ continues to be a success, the success of all the shows demonstrates that he is still beloved. But the narrative around him feels so controlled in the media that you never get a glimpse of how loved he still is. It's like being gaslit. This discrepancy infuriates me at times, and leaves me feeling hopeless at other times.

I want MJ to be recognised for the right reasons outside of the fan community, and I just really don't see that happening within my lifetime. The biopic will be a good test to gauge the perception of him outside the fan community aswell as outside the media.

As sad as it can feel at times, his music is perfect for drowning out all that noise.

Sounds like you are going through an awful time, very sorry to hear what you are going through with your mum. I hope you can find ways to cope with your depression during this difficult time.
As I just said, seeing my mom in the hospital washed my depression away. She stayed in the hospital for 5 weeks and returned home after that. But now I may go back to depressive state which I’m blaming Corus right now.

Don't remember if I posted in here ...

Therapy that helped me the most and was actually a game changer: working with the body to soothe the nervous system. In German you say KÖRPERTHERAPIE ( lit. "body therapy") as a general term.

I can recommend the following books (and therapists who focus on methods that are written about in those books):

Bessel van der Kolk: THE BODY KEEPS THE SCORE

Jessica Mann and Karden Rabin: THE SECRET LANGUAGE OF THE BODY
