I'm in the school library again. :fear:

I just wanted to pop in and let you guys know that I will be using this thread as the topic for my fieldwork project for my Anthropology of Folklore class (the one that requires me to listen to the army songs) Basically we have to research the folklore of a certain group of people, everyone is doing lame shit like Halloween traditions and Children's songs. I would have to identify the origins of our special Applehead customs, like the gifs, and stealth writing, and cucumbers. I thought this would be interesting, and it's not like I would have a hard time "researching." :p I don't have to present it to the class luckily...hahahaa

I hope my teacher will approve it, she seems like she would somewhat understand since she's actually studied the Harry Potter fandom and all the crazy slash fanfiction. There's nothing scholarly written on Appleheads so I dunno what I'm, going to use as sources...probably just stuff relating to Michael but I would have plenty (1907 pages!) of info to go off of on here so I think I should be OK. I'm going to have to conduct interviews...so once I get my shit together more I'll be taking volunteers! :lol:

I have officially crossed over into freak status, haven't I? :mellow:

I'll post the essay when I finish it...it's not due till November 23rd so it'll be a while.
 
Folklore or folk culture just generally means customs. Like putting up a Christmas tree or jump rope rhymes from your childhood. It's something that isn't written about or studied in school etc it's just the learned culture of a group of people. There is a type of folk culture in this thread.
