I wanted to share this poem. I didn't want to post it in the writing area of the forum cuz it's really meant for you guys. It kind of is three poems in one, it goes through my life with Michael and the end part...well you'll see!
My Constant

1995
It started when Barbie dolls ruled the earth
And my mom still packed my lunch
I remember all the rainy afternoons
My sister and I would walk to my cousins’ house
Where they had it
The scratched and dirty disc that held such power
The booklet was wrinkled but it didn’t seem to matter
Leather clad and adorned in silver hardware was
Michael Jackson

Sure, sometimes we brought out the The Spice Girls
Maybe Hanson
But they always moved aside for the great one

It was a ritual
Snap
The CD player would close
The button pressed
A few anxious seconds…

*doom doom doom doom doom doom*
“Your butt is mine, gonna tell ya right…”

Tiny sock covered feet on white carpet
Laughing at the word butt like only a six year old can
The jumping could be heard from the kitchen downstairs

Oh it was bliss
Every song had its own special dance
Smooth Criminal was a favorite
Complete silence and stillness
A giggle would slip…
“AOW!”
Strike a pose!
Always having to skip to the beginning
Due to improper choreographing

Eleven songs were never enough
Voices sore from shrieking and singing
We’d start it all over
Until mom came

Worn out and happy on the short car ride home
My bed always felt like a comforting symphony of blankets and pillows
That voice
Those melodies
Always providing the purest joy

2002
My printer was constantly out of ink in seventh grade
Every day was a new picture
A fresh reminder of him
Taped promptly onto my assignment planner

Kids laughed and teachers just rolled their eyes

Armed with my CD player I’d wait at the bus stop
Outside voices muffled underneath his song
I dreamed he’d surprise me
Walk through the cafeteria doors so everyone would see
Tip his hat and smile at me
Hand outstretched

Neat stripes of scars covered my wrists and legs
I’d hear his voice
“Smile though your heart is aching…”
Tears would follow
On my walls, surrounding me in his love

Letters upon letters I wrote
I’d ask him how he was doing
Draw him little pictures

The thought of him

If only for a moment

2009
It came to me in words
Digital black and white
Cold and unchangeable

It was the perfect summer day
I was on a vacation of debauchery and drinking
Convinced it was a joke
It had to be
Sitting on top of the skin like motor oil
My friend didn’t seem too phased
We kept on with our plans
And it was kept in the back of my mind

Until the night
Dirty hostel room in the sticky June heat
Top bunk, my friend below sleeping soundly
Hands shaking as I saw his name on my ipod
“Another day has gone…”
Tears came in rivers
Dropped from a crushing height
My heart shattered

How does it feel like this?

Months passed
It was so surreal
Old friends didn’t understand
Family thought it was childish
I wept in secrecy

Until I found them
Other freaks

It's been a crap year so onto 2010! I'm going to sound really corny and Hallmark card but...Michael lives in all of us so we gotta keep his love alive! Happy New Year to you all!

Ok that's enough sappy stuff for me I gotta get to sleep so I can decorate for my party. Mom got me two different kinds of wine and a bottle of vanilla vodka!
