Are TMZ suddenly nice?

To little to late, years and years of slander and then big up an album Michaels not here for? F*ck them

Tabloids write what they can profit from.

If people want to read negative stuff about MJ they write that.

BUT ever since june 25th 09 - People have wanted to remember MJ for his music - and now people don't wanna read negative tabloid made up lies about him.

When people want to read positive stuff tabloids will profit from doing so, and therefore do so.

It just occured to me that this is the first time I can remember since Thriller, that Michael's album release isn't accompanied by a crap load of tabloid lies and nasty headlines. I haven't heard anything negative except the BN controversy and that mostly is amongst the fans. Maybe even the tabloids are not going to speak ill of Michael since he is no longer with us.

Yes, isn't it ironic? For the first that I know of his own fans (well, some) are being very negative and stirring controversy, not the media! Imagine that! There was a post I read from another fan that is so true:if the media were stirring this whole controversy about BN, those same fans would be screaming bloody murder! Ha ha

TMZ tries to shed some light regarding the issue with the vocals on the Cascio tracks. Of course, once again, the stories don't quite add up:

If these "scratch tracks" (demos) were recorded in 2007, why would he be planning to take them to London in 2009 to finish them up.

It's possible that Levin misspoke, but it's also possible that someone is still lying through their teeth.

You are probably right Hess. I know ppl these days have good feelings for Michael. (I think TII totally helped too) Ex. I work part time at this store, this lady prob. in her 60's listens to my CD when WHE is on, and immediately says "Michael!" in a very sweet, sad voice. I was taken aback, but happy she felt that way.
I think ppl remember his sweet, loving persona which he always was, but unfortunately in his later years with all that happened it took the sheen off of him. (except for us his fans).
But now that this happened ppl have only good memories of him.
Hence I think the cover and name of the album is perfect. This is the Michael they feel fuzzy and sweet about and "Michael" is all you need to say to know who the man was and will always be. Sweet, sweet and musical genius Michael- that is it. sigh

I hate the media for all they did to Michael, but I have to be honest if the media will help him now I won't embrace them but I also won't criticize them for it. In the end they are helping Michael's legacy. I just want Michael to be loved by all and never be forgotten. This album will certainly help.

Well said tricia70 - I agree.

I will not forgive the media for all they did, but I sure will be happy they've changed their mind.

i think this is sort of "embedded journalism" organised by Sony.
Roger Friedman, TMZ and also the biggest tabloid paper in germany here
sounds very friendly recently.

i would not be surprised if they have any sorts of deals when
big new MJ projects start... because sony knows these people
can influence a lot of opinions...

well, at least if i was Sony i would do this. :D

If I were Sony or Branca/Weitzman I would do this too.

I would bet that Levin is a friend of Weitzman or Branca. Friedman has always gotten info from Branca & has certainly been a mouthpiece for the estate.

That said, I don't see how anyone could not love 'Hold your Hand".

Don't be fooled by TMZ or the rest of the media. Its cool now to be supportive of MJ, why? because he's dead! No way would you be seeing any type of love fest/ positivity if he were still with us. Thats how they roll and frankly they can take their positivity and shove it!

Clearly Harvey Levin was talking about 2000 watts! But, the difference with 2000 watts and BN is that u can tell it's still MJ in 2000 watts! That didn't happen for a lot of people (Including myself) with BN! So bad example IMO!

It's so annoying to have RF and TMZ as Sony/Estate mouth pieces! They could have gave two sh*t about giving good press for MJ when he was alive! So the shady behind the scenes ass kissing favors/deals they are doing now are gross!:puke::smilerolleyes:

I remember during the run up to the This Is It concerts, they were basically cheerleading the concerts to fail.

Now these tracks surface and all of a sudden it's like the second coming of Thriller. Unreal.

TMZ goes with the flow..if Michael is on top they are nice,if not they are trashing him...but what i can say is that they always find out things first!

Or maybe they actually just like Michael and the songs on it.

Everything doesn't have to be a plot against MJ or something like that. Maybe they simply just love the new album.

If they review the album and gives it 1 out of 6 stars it will be very weird after all the positive they have said.

moonwalkbhoy - Correct.

Please give them no reason to change their mind.

Maybe. Or maybe they have alot of new Sony equipment - thanks to Daisy- I noticed on their site that in the vid "MJ's New Song -the Vote is in - there is alot of Sony equipment. I wonder how much advertising money comes their way from Sony. Hmmmmm.

I guess this is a good step forwards...next we need some appraisal of the man himself, not just the music.

This always happens. They are 'nice' and then they go back to being horrible. Its a cycle.

I think the thing with them is that Harvey is a Michael Jackson music fan. So, sure they all give him props for his accomplishments and love his work, but that doesn't mean they respect or like Michael the man.

This. Actually, when Harvey wrote his first "Hi, this is Harvey" entry regarding the album several days ago, he specifically mentioned being "Michael Jackson music fan. It caught my eye right away. I don't think we should expect that TMZ will change their tune regarding Michael the man.

Correct. Not a fan of the man.

I could list the horrible and innacurate things they have said, or done before and after his passing, but I won't.

In live chat, it is obvious they think that there is a high chance that Michael was guilty of child molestation.

I have felt like you have before...they always make you feel like they like him, and then they do another nasty/innacurate story.

There are several members of TMZ who are also fan of the man. Mike for example always mentions how big fan he is, how he went to Neverland as a child etc.
