Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Pepsi is also prepping a 25th-anniversary campaign in mid-May for the rerelease of Michael Jackson's Bad that will include a series of remixes from superstar DJs like Skrillex, Diplo and A-Trak. Jackson, of course, famously struck a ground-breaking, multifaceted endorsement/sponsorship deal with Pepsi in 1983, and was also infamously burned by an accidental fire during a 1984 commercial shoot.

Seriously, how the hell do they come up with this kind of stuff?

The person who wrote this didn't even TRY to make it seem legit. LMAO!

BUT, if this is indeed true (which I kind of doubt) then here's my reaction...

Did Michael wear that white shirt when he performed The Way You Make Me Feel?

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

So just a remix album then? What a surprise.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Don't trust that source, lol. Doubt we'll see any Skrillex shit on the album. Let's wait for a better source.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

See? This is exactly the kind of confusion the Estate can avoid by speaking about this. At least confirm or infirm stuff that's being said with simple 'yes' or 'no' answers on twitter, without revealing too much, yet spearing us from having headaches about this and debating whether or not the stuff that's being written is true or not.

But of course that's not gonna happen...

Don't trust that source, lol. Doubt we'll see any Skrillex shit on the album. Let's wait for a better source.

Amen!

Seems a strange thing to stick in an article about Pepsi vs Coke though. It's not like they are selling it as an exclusive about Bad 25. And with this Estate, nothing would surprise me.

Also, the story is in Billboard magazine too. It's their cover story so it seems unlikely they would be making this up.

^^What the hell was that? Sounds like someone shooting nails in my ears. Especially that Skrillex song. Isn't that Dubstep? Since when is Dubstep consider as being music?

I mean, I know some people might like it and everything, buy my gawd, it sounds awful...

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Hmmmmm is this nowadays club music ???? it's not very usefull for vocals like MJ did..... Let;s hope this remixers are not true...

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Now days "club music" totally sucks and it would be terrible to remix MJ's songs like that.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

IF they would like to add dance / club remixes I hope there are some remixes donw in the 90's just like they did with tracks from off The Wall & Thriller. Bad is the only album which has no 90's club remixes, but they are great !!!!

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I'm guessing it will be the eleven tracks plus some contemporary remixes along with the Spike Lee documentary.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

The MJ Online Team is following this thread. So, they know fans expect Bad Tour DVD/Blu-ray to be a part of the BAD 25 release. If the tour DVD/Blu-ray is not in the work, I think the on-line team would have the hearts to let fans know what to expect and clarify any confusion. Since the on-line team is not saying anything about the tour DVD/Blu-ray, I guess I can be a little more optimistic now. I don't think they'll be so cruel and lead fans on to something that won't happen soon.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Only remixes?

I REALLY hope that they release that Bad Tour 1988 concert dvd and possibly blu-ray

They may be following it but they certainly don't care. These type of things are usually embargoed so they wouldn't say anything either way. Looks like Billboard has let the cat out the bag though. I hope I'm wrong but I would say the chances of getting a Bad Tour dvd/blu ray are slim to none.

It says in the Billboard article that they are preparing a series of remixes. I wonder if they are going to be released as individual tracks, separate from an album?

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Most likely any remixes will be added as bonus tracks just like they diid Thriller 25
They will still have all the original songs from BAD.. + Bonus remixes and unreleased

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Doesn't MJJC have some kind of contact between the Estate/Sony to get just some info or anything like that?

I hear you. Frankly, an album with a couple additional remixes are not interesting to me. I'm not into "club music". I understand some fans would love the remixes. But, I have bought the same songs I-don't-know-how-many-times in I-don't-even-remember-how-many-different-greatest-hits-packages. I'm not going to buy the same song again in yet another different package.

It really isn't that difficult to understand. Fans want the BAD Tour because it's something otherwordly amazing that we all desire.

I hope we'll get some kind of confirmations from Sony/the Estate soon. But, based on prior experiences, any official words may not be out until just weeks before official release.

Again, I really hope that the MJ Online team would give fans courtesy and not toy our goodwills and feelings.

Hahaha.. "remixes from superstar DJs like Skrillex, Diplo and A-Trak." Who the fck are they? "Superstar DJs" yeah right. It sounds to bad to be truth. I want will.i.am, Kanye & Akon back + Jay-Z and RedOne. Not those douchebags.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Actually, I googled those DJs and they are really famous in their field of work. They've done some great remixes for Kanye, Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Britney Spears... Maybe it's not such a bad idea to do some club mixes (like Hollywood Tonight was in 2011, #1). But they should than release a separate album, like remix album called Bad 25 Remixes with all 11 songs remixed for clubs. But that should not be the main BAD 25 album with unreleased songs.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

They should have this as bonus material on the dvd

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Omg....please don't release any remixes :((Horrible remixes from Thriller 25th don't teach them anything?) ,especially from Skrillex. Sony/Estate i hope that you wouldn't destroy legacy of BAD album....Please we want Bad Tour 1988 concert DVD & BLU-RAY and some unreleased material from BAD session not next horrible remixes.....

Sorry for my english...

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

I'm going to be extremely dissapointed with the estate if we don't get a BAD Tour 1988 DVD, they must know that the fans want it so I just hope they listen to us and release the tour! if we only get a remix album then I will not be buying anything the estate plan on releasing in the future so please release the BAD Tour 1988 on DVD & Blu-Ray and make me and every other fan of the king happy.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Personally I want a DVD of one of the WEMBLEY CONCERTS and Rehearsals from it, then I want the album itself with additional cuts that didn't make it. Main songs I want Don't Be Messin' Around, Al Capone, Buffalo Bill, Price Of Fame, Neverland Landing, Pyramid Girl, Stop Throwin' Life Away and Stay. Also that Spike Lee Documentary and loads of adverts for the reissue of the album.Oh and I want to see Studio Footage of MJ. Not Much Is It.

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Not buying if we get crappy club mixes and no untouched songs. Just saying.

These are crème de la crème of the dance music scene....

Chillax and wait...we might be surprised. This can't be any worse than the Thriller 25 remixes (I liked Kanye's but HATED william's)

One more thing, the estate wouldn't give Billboard their scoop...I am sure they will announce the Bad Tour DVD, with a major press release, at the same time as the Pepsi cans.

If this is true... I hope they don't expect stellar sales by MJ fans swarming to buy it. That's not going to happen with this crap. This is terrible. It's going to be another way for the critics to call it a failure. :(

Re: BAD 25 - 2012 - Official Discussion Thread

Agreed....I'm warming up to remixes, but they have to be GOOD, out of this world (a la Bad extended dance remix with false fade, etc, etc)...We don't need remixes that dampen the already amazing-ness of the song. Today's club music is absolutely horrible...if you wanna even call it music lol....I won't be spending my money on something unless it's completely worth it, and done with love and respect for the genius Michael was....We'll see about that lol

I would be very, very disappointed if we get Yokohama...The fans (and I believe general public as well) would go nuts for a Bad concert on Blu ray...any music lover would love to see MJ in his prime, on the Bad tour....It could be a HUGE seller, if promoted right too...I mean, look at TII, EVERYONE wanted to see MJ perform....Maybe people wouldn't be as interested in a Bad album re-release, but a DVD/Bluray could make EVERYONE happy...

I include the general public in this because the Estate sure doesn't seem to be committed to making the actual fans happy...
