That is what I don't understand. Why don't they work with the estate on these plans? Katherine could have especially released her book with the estate's backing.

Greed i guess and working with the estate would mean they would have to accept they dont have rights over mj which they seem to be in total denial about.and/ or the estate isnt intrested in their plans

They would have to be the most delusional and dumbest people on earth to think they can succeed with Mann and other leeches behind them. What baffles me is, why Janet doesn't step in and put credible folks around her mother, so then maybe Katherine can finally get something going, instead of looking like someone who is in waaaay over her head.

What on earth kind of agreement is this? Not only is it signed by both Joe Jackson and Julian Rouas, it’s signed by Cynthia B. Marven. Who might she be? Apparently a Las Vegas resident and mother of singer Crystal Marven, one of the talents promoted by Joe Jackson. So . . . is Joe her daughter’s manager? Or is she Joe’s manager? Or both? Oh, man, my head hurts.

But you ain’t seen nothing yet. Google Julian Rouas and you’ll find someone’s been posting vitriolic anti-Rouas rants all over the internet. Some claim to be from models who haven’t been paid; others are colorful character assassinations. Written in a stilted, oddly formal English, they paint Rouas as an oafish, sociopathic con-man and warn people not to get involved with him. I’m in no position to know whether the claims are true, but they make entertaining reading. (Warning: NSFW).

One such diatribe did have a useful link to open court records from San Mateo County, California. It appears that in 2007 Rouas set up a Limited Liability Corporation in Nevada called Giuseppe Rouas Fragrances International. In fall of 2008, a guy in Los Angeles loaned him $40,000 in return for operating shares in the LLC. For some reason the guy got cold feet and asked for his money back, as was his right under the loan agreement. Rouas gave him a refund check but then stopped payment on it. When the guy objected, Rouas gave him back $5,000, leaving him out $35,000. The guy turned out to be the son of C. Stewart Ritchie, III, MD, a wealthy doctor and successful businessman. So Dr. Ritchie, his wife, and son sued Rouas and an associate to get their money back. From what I can gather, they reached a settlement with him (Case CIV485438 - C. STEWART RITCHIE VS. JULIAN ROUAS)

It’s possible that the Michael Jackson Tribute/Legacy project is totally on the up and up, even if somewhat misconceived and ineptly executed. It’s also possible that it represents a cosmic collision between personalities whose sleaze magnitude is beyond comprehension. What’s totally awesome is that we’ll know the answer by March 7, 2011 at the latest.'

Hmmm...there is someone else claiming that J Rouas stole their 'golf' related perfume...this one was called 'Approche' and was apparently developed by 'Anna Planet'.

Curiouser and curiouser........ This seems to be a different 'golf-related' perfume from the ones referred to in the Blog referenced on p5 of this thread, which was called 'Swing NY'.

(NB I'm getting McAfee 'warning' messages about a blog titled Annaplanetsucks.blog...which seems to be related to Julian Rouas. I've not clicked on any of these links just in case they harbour something nasty in the computer virus sense, and recommend you avoid them likewise.)

Regarding the legal action, I notice that Triumph International had registered ' Neverland Valley' as a trademark for lots of possible items including perfume. (Joe's perfume names include 'Jackson's tribute: the scent of Neverland'). All of the Neverland Valley logos (boy in the moon etc) seem to have been discontinued, which I find a bit surprising , as I guess they are now available to be purchased for others to use?

Have re-posted this in it's own thread...the more I read the more I realised it was a completely different company...although probably simialr issues over use of the logo etc

Not sure who UD group are, but they seem to have won a case against the estate: I know its not the Rouas company, but I thought it might have a bearing on it? is there a common connection eg via Dieter Wiesner? They have the MJ logo on the page referenced at the bottom of this post...does this mean they are free to use this without paying any dues to the estate?

The UD-Group-Thing has nothing to do with the parfume. The UD-Group is the woner of the lost History-logo from MJ. So they can use and advertise with this logo.
It seems really the only deal where the Estate can nothing do. But they can only use the MJ-logo. Not his name etc.

But again. It has nothing to do with the Parfume-deal.

I agree, someone needs to assist her asap before someone has a sudden health problem as we all know both Joe and Katherine are elderly folks and it is not a good thing for them to be under constant pressure wondering where their next business venture would be. Jeesbus

A company that owns the rights to license all things Michael Jackson is going after MJ's dad, Joe -- indirectly -- claiming he's involved in a business deal that shamelessly exploits his dead son.

TMZ broke the story ... Joe Jackson was pushing the new "Jackson" scent line at the Cannes Film Festival last month on behalf of a company called Julian Rouas Paris. But according to a new lawsuit, J.R.P. never obtained permission to use Michael's name and image in connection with the product.

Now, Bravado International is asking a federal court in Los Angeles to force Julian Rouas Paris to immediately strip anything MJ-related from their smelly product line ASAP.

Bravado is also seeking $750 for each time MJ's name and likeness were used on a product PLUS three times the amount of profits they've made on the scents PLUS more than $150k in damages.

A rep for Bravado tells TMZ, "Michael Jackson's talent made his name one of the most valuable in the history of entertainment, and no person acting on behalf of the estate gave Mr. Rouas oral or written consent to exploit it."
