Conrad Murray is requesting Bail Pending Appeal. [UPDATE] Request Denied

Re: Conrad Murray is asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal

I hope he is not let out of jail now. My heart can't take that right now.

Re: Conrad Murray is asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal

"Hes our primary source of support" yeah thats why shes still with him. waiting for the big bucks to role in when he gets out.

Re: Conrad Murray is asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal

Give it up, Murray, you won't change HIStory books by insisting you had nothing to do with it.
And if he files 20 appeals with the delusional goal of having something 'stick' in the mass subconscious of all of us with these ridiculous statements. I'm starting to think he's only filing this because his license hinges on a reversal of a guilty verdict- and because he knows that newspapers all around the world do print his delusional statements that somehow are supposed to anchor that he's the mistreated scapegoat who isn't guilty of anything. It feels akin to using his own lost court case as PR in the hopes that something will stick with the public.

You DO know filing for appeal is standard procedure, right? Even if you probably won't be granted one, I reckon they thought it was worth a try. I don't have a problem with that--the court system exists for everyone, and if others can try and appeal, of course nothing is preventing Murray from doing so. It's not surprising.

However...I think it's obvious this appeal has next to no chance of being granted, and is just a waste of time for everyone involved. I'm pretty confident, especially if the 'decider' is Judge Pastor, that it will be turned down. The trial was very fair, as I mentioned before, and the grounds they summon for appeal really hold no relevance whatsoever. The only thing Flanagan brought up which might hold some volume is the whole "sequestration of jury" issue, but like I've said many times before, I am of the opinion even with that having taken place, the verdict would remain unchanged.

But he is his lawyer, so he has to try and give some sort of argument for appeal, even if trying means scraping the very bottom of the barrel. And Murray has a right to seek an appeal, even if that appeal has about as much chance of being granted as I do of becoming the Queen of England.

In short, it doesn't bother me because I'm pretty sure it will fail miserably, just like everything else they've endeavoured to do.

I also don't know very many people nowadays who give a s--t about Murray or the trial [talking non-MJ fans here], so a PR effort seems unlikely. Even among non-MJ fans, the general consensus is that Murray was a horrible doctor and is to blame for what happened. Only a few very stupid ones think otherwise, so his statements are very unlikely to change general opinion about him. The trial brought out a lot of transgressions on his part, and we got to see just what kind of a person he is...and truth is not very many people are willing to support someone like that, especially a doctor.

This trial wasn't about MJ, it was about horrible and negligent practice by a doctor, and people fear that already. Murray has not painted himself in a very sympathetic light. The documentary was his one shot at PR, and you saw how horrible the ratings for that were, and how badly the people who watched it thought of him, even people who weren't fans thought it was sick.

The appeal is just that, an appeal. And it will fail, or you may call me Meier.

Whys the court website only posting the defence motions re the appeal and bail. wheres the d.a's responce that the media reported on. talk about selective democracy

DA statement can be read from the latest post on court documents
The documents are up in La Superior Court page:
http://ww2.lasuperiorcourt.org/hp/1j...1491131481.pdf

The defence doesn't seem to push Murray being remorseful after their disastrous tv appearance.
I don't know much about law, but it seems to me that for Murray's appeal to be successful, he needs to be out of jail.
"and Murray is not released pending his appeal, he may lose the benefit of a successful appeal on this issue'"

At the end of the document there is People's opposition of defence request for release pending appeal.
Go Walgren!

Re: Conrad Murray is asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal

^Don't forget Ms. Brazil. I'm sick of everyone just praising Walgren, yes he's amazing but they're a TEAM and she deserves as much praise as he does. She works just as hard and is still a part of this, don't forget that. She's an amazing lady.

Also, clicking on the link you have provided results in a 404 error. You might want to look into that.

Good to hear that an opposition to the defence's useless request has been filed, though. Murray would still pose a risk, I am certain, and he's dreaming if he thinks he will be granted liberty.

You're definitely preaching to the choir here, as I am well aware of his rights to file an appeal, do not twist my words, you quoted me and cut off my words mentioning Murray's right to appeal. Thank you.

I'm looking forward to hearing eloquent words from a judge who's gonna have to strike the balance between Murray's right to appeal and saying in a dignified manner that hell can freeze over before Murray is dictating him the conditions of being released.

I didn't forget Ms Brazil, she does deserve as much praise as Walgren, for some reason when I see Walgren, she becomes
invisible:) Next time I'll try to remember to mention her name too.

I don't know why the link didn't work, I try again: http://ww2.lasuperiorcourt.org/hp/1jr1fvzz0q0nij45ysmhci45/1491131481.pdf
If it doesn't work go to La Superiour Court page and Murray case is under high profile cases, document is the first one

As expected (and rightfully so) Murray didn't go anywhere but back to jail.

Dr. Conrad Murray denied Freedom during Manslaughter Appeal

0224-murray-bn-01.jpg

Dr. Conrad Murray was just shot down by a judge, denying him bail while he appeals his manslaughter conviction in the death of Michael Jackson.

According to Judge Michael Pastor, Murray is still considered a flight risk because he does not have significant property or family ties here in Los Angeles.

Judge Pastor also believes Murray is a danger to society -- citing the NBC documentary, in which Murray fails to show any remorse for MJ's death.

Pastor said it scares him that Murray believes it is okay to use Propofol in a home setting -- and believes he could pose a danger to the safety of other people if he were released.

GREAT NEWS!

I never liked the fact that Murray participated in that so-called documentary, but then again I ain't mad that the dang thing is being used AGAINST him, again and again. LOL!

Re: Conrad Murray is asking a judge to release him from jail pending appeal

Thank you judge for the right decision!
Funny that Murray drowned himself with the mockumentary, not once but twice.
He got the highest possible sentence because of it and bid for bail was denied because of it.
Babe, its payback time for all the shite he said about Michael in his mockumentary:clap:
