How Are You Feeling Today?

Re: How are you feeling today?

Nauseated and like my head is going to explode from this headache that won't go away, slept part of the afternoon, now I have to stay up late to finish painting because it has to be mailed on Tuesday  :mello:

Re: How are you feeling today?

Thank you BI :) I took something again for my headache so hopefully it starts to kick in. I'm almost done with the painting, it's just shadowing and some final details, but my head feels like it weighs 1,000 pounds right now :bugeyed

The Beach - Onset MA

Well, I had a fun weekend this weekend. We went down to my sisters camper in Plymouth MA. I think MJ's kids would have LOVED this place....full of children!! My sister is the Activities director there. SO on Saturday night we saw a reptile show...there was an Egyptian turtle, a large box turtle who thought he was a dog (he drank from a dog's bowl during the show)...and a large Burmese Python who was the show ender. All of the animals that the woman who ran the show had were orphans...they were adopted by her because of numerous problems...for instance one smaller tortoise had just 3 legs...and the Burmese Python originally was sick to the point of death from pneumonia. THe show woman nursed all of these animals back from the brink of death, only to find herself in such a condition earlier this week? Earlier this year, the woman had a bout of bacterial pneumonia along with her sarcoidosis. She was placed in Isolation precautions because of the airborne nature of her illness and the fact that she could have gotten worse infection if exposed.

Yesterday, I got up (after only getting 4 hours of sleep due to nasal congestion)...We went out to have breakfast at Steve's Pier restaurant - a nice restaurant in the corner of Main street in Onset MA. Onset....brings back so many good memories for me. We used to vacation there regularly with my little Italian 4'11" grandmother....we'd get a cottage that faced Onset Bay....

Later my mom and I drove to Walmart in Wareham, which is right next to Stop N Shop. I went into Walmart and got my hair cut there...yea, I'm cheap! LOL! THen I did some shopping and decided to go to Stop N Shop to get my mother. I walked in with my pocketbook on my shoulder. Walked past the cash registers in front, then looked back at the Service Desk and spotted her there....so I went to meet up with her. I decided to go through the opening that was closest to me. I didn't see a low-lying dolly that was placed there. I tripped over the dolly, landing full on my eye and lip. You should have seen the blood pouring out of my mouth!!
Here I am - don't I just look GORGEOUS?? OMG!!

I have a black eye and a swollen lip this morning...if anything, this experience reinforces the fact that I have to watch where I am walking up and down. There was a low-lying dolly that blocked two cash registers in the grocery store where I was. And I walked head on into it, tripped and fell.

This experience also taought me some important lessons about the inherent goodness of people. One old man gave me his handkerchief so that I could put that against my mouth. A woman, a NURSE no less, came out of nowhere and stated she was a nurse then yelled for someone to get some ice. The old man then went outside to flag down the ambulance. I was strapped onto a gurney and whisked to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where I got 2 stitches in my mouth, plus a cranial CT scan to make sure there wasn't any internal damage to my brain.
I have to hand it to all that saw me fall like that and helped me get to the hospital. They will remain nameless and faceless, but I thank MY GOD every moment afterwards that I had such caring people helping me get better.

Re: How are you feeling today?

Happy that my trip went so well :D. Disappointed that something I planned to happen while I was away didn't go exactly as planned . Annoyed at being sick at the mo. I suppose when you travel in close proximity with thousands of people and little children, you're bound to catch something (cold/flu bug). blah!! :( The bright side is that I got sick at the end, so yay! Traveling back was the pits tho. I was miserable and couldn't wait to get home to my bed. Now, I'm excited becuz I'm already planning weekend get-aways in October and December. :wild:

In short: I'm sick but still happy about the past week and the trips to come...God willing.

Edit: Oh, and I'm a little frustrated cuz I'm having probs downloading the pix from my camera. I took so many, it's overloading my poor puter. :weeping:

Re: How are you feeling today?

I feel like everything I think, feel, and see makes me sick right now, and I don't like it :bugeyed

Re: How are you feeling today?

Much better healthwise. Hacking cough is still lingering but at least I can eat so yay! Excited about some things but bummed that I have to get back to work tomorrow. I'm completely off schedule from having fun. Don't know how I'm going to manage. :bugeyed
