Okey I couldn't post until now cause I was at school.I sang Breaking News all day long.The Estate statement was all I needed to make my day happier.
Because so many days passed since Breaking News was released I started finding more and more genuine.

The beginning has the sound from You Rock My World and also the drums from They Don't Care About Us.Also it has the MJ-style lyrics on it and the MJ-sound on the chorus.I really think it's Michael singing as I said until now.

Until now people were waiting for a statement from the estate.They got it.Even if they did get it,still they aren't happy cause it didn't happen the way they wanted.Imagine if the vocals were proven to be fake how many people would be happy right now.

I think the song is 100% genuine and I don't care what happened to Michael's voice.It sounds amazing in any way.The Estate aren't stupid.They're people entrusted by Michael so he new what they were capable of.

Imagine Sony a worldwide popular label to make a mistake like this?There is more to see than meets the eye.

I just have the feeling that more people WANTED INDEED Breaking News to be fake and I still wonder why.You had requested a statement and you have it.What more could you possibly want?

I love the song.I said from the beginning and I say it again.IT'S AMAZING!
 
Im looking forward to the new album and I really love Breaking News ! Michael is a great artist when he can sings different in every kind of song ! he can sing with a dark voice and the suddenly in another way. Hes a true artist .. and the song is very good like tabloid Junkie! I hope true fans buy this album to put Michael number one again !

when you have a rumor that the tracks are fake, then you get vocals that aren't to your liking you'll get that reaction. some knew it was him or were logical and gave the track another play to be sure, others just played it once and labeled it with the rest of the cascio as 'fake'.

I feel realy sorry for Teddy Riley :(. one minute he was the good guy the other he was a 'liar' and a 'sellout'.

I support the track too and yes for me its 100% the King of Pop!!
 
I've only had one listen to it actually, so maybe I'd have to listen again to like it... but it sounds like a lot of people love the song already!
 
Ok - on monday i was 100% convinced that it wasnt MJ - now thursday -With the statement, Teddy Rileys admission that a new version mix is now on the website, and after listening to the Official Acappella version - I am 100% convinced that it is MJ on lead vocal with this James Porte guy on backing vocals. I now believe that the mix they put on stream initially was awful and as a result sounded nothing like MJ - But now do me a favour - Listen to the Official Acapella on youtube first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rVDANc0fyX0 - then listen to the new uploaded version of Breaking News - It is MJ

I would agree with you...but the acapella sounds NOTHING like him...the new version on the website definitely does sound more like Michael...
 
yay ! ive waited so long for this thread ;)

I love breaking news and always believed it was MJ... allbeit now what we are used to hearing which is why i love it so much. Its obvious MJ was trying out new techniques and styles during this period.

i was becoming really upset with all the negativity surrounding that release as that all some people seem to want to do with mj stuff these days ( fans included sadly ) and to be honest thats not how i want to be and will never be as a fan of mj :)

i heart breaking news

Nah, you're not reading into it too much -- you're hitting the nail on its head.

My interpretation is that the "Michael Jackson" he keeps referring to in the song is a personality or an entity that he does not recognize. He spits the name out, almost with distaste. It refers to a creature made of rumors and lies, created by the media and everyone else out there "wanting a piece of Michael Jackson". This is further evident from the chorus, where he sings "Who is this boogieman you're thinking of?" I've always believed that he explored a similar theme on 'Threatened' -- that, on that song, he's saying that if you really believe all the crap that's written about him, all the rumors and lies, if you really believe that he's this monster and that he's dangerous, then you should bloody well be threatened by him!

I love it when he uses lyrics like this, 'cos they are a bit deeper and not as one-dimensional as, for example, those on 'Privacy'.

Well I just compared the song added on monday by Sony, and the one just been given to me. Been said that it would be a "new mix".

The two are IDENTICAL, apart from the fact that "new mix" is recorded with higer DB's so it's a bit louder and it's quality is less good.

But since that is the "new mix" on MJ.com, there IS NO NEW MIX. It's 100% the same.

And I'm not bashing Breaking News, I'm not getting involved in the "YES IT IS or NO IT ISN'T" issue. I have my own opinions, and I don't write in this thread for nothing.

Or, the person just given that file to me, was that supposed to be a new mix? If not, I haven't said anything ;)
 
the new version uploaded on the UK version of mj.com sounds very different to me, it sounds less processed and like a completely different vocal, i like it, and am convinced that its totally michael jackson, the vocal seems unpitched as well, i like it !
 
Even on UK version of MJ.com I dont hear anything different.
And from a professional point of view, they only have ONE video streaming all over the world. Not separate ones for each country........ Or each domain, that is.
 
gotta admit while listening to the a capella, The vibrato seems to be messed with with the autotune or something.

But still i believe its 100% Authentic and i love the song aswell! the instrumentation sorta reminds me of in the closet!
 
I look forward to December 14th when I go to the Best Buy located by my job in order to purchase my COPIES of "Michael."

When ever they have a Michael Jackson product for sale, it's ALWAYS displayed, front & center, as soon as you walk into the store. I can't wait to see it!
 
This is Michael's voice...
It may be changed with the computer and the pitch changed a bit with autotune + it was only demo material with what they worked. All these things do a bit to make Michael sound different, but it's still HE => MICHAEL. Except for the background chorus which is joined by another singer, don't know his name, but this is okay.
And actually I'm a bit into music production and know few things to make your voice sound different. I believe they used some effects on MJs voice to make it flow with the rythm and not feel like f.e. This Is It, where Michael sounded like an old audio tape...

Jeez relax, I didn't say that these were not his lyrics, I just said this is not something he would TYPICALLY write, which is true. Unless you know of another song in which he uses his own name like that or refers to himself in the third person similarly? That's all I'm saying. No need to get so defensive. I also like the song and I will buy the album.

Also the keyboards have the Michael Bearden flavor like in TII Jam.

Does anybody know if TII musicians participated on this project?

We should contact TR to thank him for working for free and doing such a great job. I hope he'll get royalties at least.

Well, the new version is definitely different. I can hear Michael more clearly and crisper. Even though I always thought it was Michael in the first place, but this time around imo the vocals are cleaner. Anyway, I like it too! Maybe that will be on the album?
You I was just thinking, if they would have put this version out in the first place, I don't think we would have had that much of a controversy. Maybe they did it on purpose to cause one? Controversies Michael always loved to launch a new album. Mmmmm. Anyway, can't wait for the new album!
