I have a question about Invincible Sales

thru January 26, 2008 Invincible sold
2,100,540 in the USA.

Taking in account music clubs sales too, its sales are for sure around 2,3 mill. in US.

Certied 2xPlat(2,000,000) in Europe

Worldwide 7/8 mill.
where dyu get that info from?

Truth is that they use their feet more because they run all over like nuts.. So I think that's why it's "football". But we have a "handball" also and there they run also, but it's "handball". So there's not a logic in naming of those. Just wait and see, soon there will be basketfootball. It must be just a running competition where you run with a football in your basket.

That's the most stupid explanation I've heard ever. Sorry but it is.. lol
First of all, the ball isn't even shaped as a ball. Wich should be enough to erase the name football. (all other sports involving the name ball, there's actually a thing formed like a ball):p
Second: the running has nothing to do with it, it's not like they have a choice, they HAVE to run, all of sports use their feet, but they dont put the foot in their name because of that.

Yes there a logical explanation, the logical explanation is the hand, foot, and for instance basket as in basket ball. The name of what you call football should have had something to do with the thouchdown area or when you do a field goal (i don't know what it's called)

Football, or should I say soccer was invented long before "football" the rest of the world calls it football but americans refuse to... lol

Btw this not an angry post... :)

Peace:punk:

invincble and history have sold more in the united states than any other individual country period. its not fair to add the whole world together than compare it to usa sales. he sold two millions copies here of invincible with out much promotion. people who say he is not huge here and loved here are crazy and ignorant. invincible was a number one album here and in many other countries which he just toured did not make it to number one. do you want to compare dwindling album sales please compare bad sales to invincible in countries like england and world wide . and he did outsell timberlake. their are millions of fans here who love him and every time some one says that he not loved here or is loved more somewhere else its just hurting his fans . invincible sold 2 million here and 8 million around the world that means he sold 6million else where and thats not 5 times more .he IS the king here period. he is big here he is big everywhere . BECAUSE HE IS MICHAEL JACKSON . FANS ARE FANS WE SHOULD SUPPORT EACH OTHER AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WE SHOULD SUPPORT MICHAEL

someones taken the whole thread the wrong way lol dont be so touchy.

invincible sold 2 million here and 8 million around the world that means he sold 6million else where and thats not 5 times more

the 5 times more quote is in relation to albums b4 vince. the article where this was talked about was written long b4 vince was even thought about.

it has not sold more than 8 mio copies worldwide!

fans always like to exaggerate, every figure higher than 8 mio is ridiculous

well tell sony because i and others such as bob are using the figues sony gave around the summer of 2002. if its fiction its created by sony and not by fans

please try to keep this in mind.(whether u do or not, doesn't matter to me). Msn has an article right now on t25 where they admit that sales of a cd and reviews of a cd tend to be tainted by the personal opinions of the reporters. i know it's hard to accept but it's true.

they would like to think that because MJ is (fill in the blank with a negative personal slanderous coment) they tend to want you to believe that the cd sold less as a result. obviously there is no proof of that. they just want you to think that. and now msn is admitting it. not that we should need an admission to know this is true. a reviewer may decide that because HE Thinks the cd is good, that's good enough reason for him to estimate a big number. but if HE thinks it's bad, or the aritist is wierd, then, the cd MUST have sold less. that's bull****.

the reporter at msn has now given a figure of sales of 'off the wall' that is far above what the figures were that were given by other reporters in the past.(now how am i supposed to not think that he gave that figure simply because of the tendancy of most reporters before him to give off the wall a more favorable review than they gave to 'thriller'?). So which reporter should we believe?
i'm sorry, but i think that reporters constantly telling you that invincible sold less, is enough for you to believe that invincible sold less. just because a reporter says something, that doesn't mean that it's true. there are some fans that just don't want to accept that reporters can be biased. the proof that invincible is a megaseller, is that on every site i've ever been on...not one MJ fan has claimed to NOT have a copy of invincible. just as the proof of MJ's mania being just as it was in the eighties is that the need for him to have security today, is no different than the need he had for it back then. i must go on a limb and ask that u not let reporters influence you. (for those who can't be satisfied unless they say invincible is the lowest selling cd)

besides..looking over this thread...no two people can give the same number for sales of invincible..so how can you be so sure it's the least selling cd?

a good example was a slanderous article i unfortuanly read in murdochs uk paper the times after LWMJ aired. this is supposedly an broadsheet non tabloid. ontop of all the slander in the aritcle the reporter imo intentionally knocked at least 10-15 mill copies off the sales of all of mjs albums, he quoted all of mjs releases in the article. obviously done intentionally because no reporter could be so thick to get the figures for every single album so wrong. its like quoteing his usa thrilelr sales figures as being world wide. a trick they have done for a long time

however in regards to vince it is obviously one of his lowest sellers because of what went on with sony/mottola and the promo it recieved compaired to all of his other releases. nothing wrong in saying so because even with what hapeend to it it still outsold the supposed big artists of today

well...i agree with ur first paragraph..but as far as ur second...nothing can ever be that obvious. MJ's promotion is not needed. everybody knows who he is. he has arrived there. mj is automatic. u really can't say that something is obvious. there's just no solid evidence. and like i said...people keep varying with the numbers

of course its obvious that an album that has no single releases in the usa and only 2 world wide no concert tours and a promo campaign that last 2 months instead of the approx 2 years given to other albums is gonna sell less than albums that have a full campaign. its common sense

im sorry i took it out of context . i was so excited about mj new album . i took it negatively and im sorry . i should not assume you meant it negatively sorry

Wow! LOL... You guys made this thread super long. So in other words, no one really knows the estimated number of sales. It's only sure that he's sold 2 million in the US and about 8-10 worlwide. Right?

according to sony as of summer 02 it had sold just oveer 11 mill world wide

The best post on this thread. Thank you for telling the truth, my friend. There are so many MJ fans in the USA that it is not even funny.

Also, I wanted to add that Invinicble was listed as one of the best selling CDs of 2001 in America. Now, how can the media call Vince a flop? Why they never say that Madonna or Prince had plenty of flops in the USA as well? They never go there with them. Just saying.

It's the double standard. "Invincible" sold more then "Justified" and I think it's sold more then "Futersex/Lovesounds" as well, but everyone calls Justin the new King of Pop and Michael a has been, lol. Can you stand it? When Michael was Justin's age, he was selling 25 plus million copies of his albums in the first year, lol.

^You are right. It is bothingsome at times but you made a good point about that. Justin is 27 and when Michael was 27, he already sold well over 100 million copies. Michael writes, composes, produces his own songs. Justin does not do that - others do. So, when the media says that JT is the next anything, I just laugh and remind people to look at the facts and stats.

Exactly Bee. This is what I always say. Today's acts like Justin and the like are a product of their producers. They aren't artists because their sound is dependent on who they're working with, not based on their own creative ability.

^Right. I am a fan of Justin but I am being honest here, he is just another copy of Mike. People are calling him theKOP and that is bull. JT is the white version of Mike. That is all he is. I remember in the summer of 2006 when I was at work and I read a review of JT's present cd. The writer said it best about JT's first cd, "It was the best MICHAEL JACKSON album since "Bad". Now, that is sad when you really think about it. JT is nowhere near an artist. He is an entertainer/performer. JT does not have the skills to be an artist or in MJ's status. He is not even an icon.

Bee you speak the truth. And I'm a JT "fan" too lol (quotations there on purpose lol)

Well perfoming is an art form, but I sure as hell wouldn't call JT a performing artist. Just an dude with a microphone, lol.

a bit o/t but one of the Polish newspapers in their review of T25 called Michael
'The Emperor of Pop' (sounds good to me;))

[unfortunately the whole thing wasn't so flattering ...]

It definitely sold over 10 million!!
It was selling faster than Justin Timberlake's Justified album on it's release in 2001. FACT!!!

Justin's single Lovestoned\She Knows is absolutely awesome i Think, but this kind of sound wouldn't exist without michael jackson's music existence. plus, a lot of songs in INVINCIBLE are better. Long Live INVINCIBLE!! :D:D
