Joan Rivers Slanders Michael & Joe on Graham Norton NYE Show BBC 1-Warning Very Bad Taste

I feel sad to start 2010 on a bad note but I felt so sad after watching part of Graham Norton's Show last night. I've watched the show many times and I get that it is a very 'adult-themed' show and they slag people off all the time, but there IS a line, and this was greatly crossed IMO.

Basically, there was Joan Rivers and Sharleen Spiteri on the couch and Graham puts up a picture of Michael on the studio TV screen. Joan called him an alleged ****phile and druggie and said no wonder he moonwalked, to get away. This is the kind of slagging off I and we, sadly have heard many many times before. But then Joan River's basically implied the picture on the screen was taken post-June 25th and then stuff which I don't want to repeat, but basically stuff about after his passing, even going to the trouble to mention Joe at this point. Disgusting. This infuriated me to the max. I only flicked it on towards the end so don't know if anything else was said earlier.

There was no need to even mention Michael or put up his picture and Graham Norton seemed to encourage the slander. All this on BBC One. It's on the BBC iplayer as well.

I'm definitely going to Ofcom with this. Please if you saw this too, do the same. Anyone have the email of Branca/McLain?

Does anyone think Ofcom will take it seriously?

and why do they do worse to Michael? Simple. Because he's Michael Jackson, he's easy to make fun of and exploit! Thats their real reasons....Assholes...

grrrrr. i think the word 'alleged' will mean she'll get away with this. I will write to her though.. her publicist or representative or whatever..
 
I think Joan needs some more botox in her face. It's time Joan it's time. If you're still able to move your lips and talk, then it's not enough botox. It's a known fact. You need more. So then I won't have to hear your stupid ass anymore! -_-

Joan Rivers has always been bottom of the barrel when it comes to making fun of other celebs. She's worse than Joy Behar when it comes to crossing the line of tasteless jokes. That old crow is still bitter about not getting to host the Tonight Show after Johnny Carson died. There was no reason for her to do that to Michael whatsoever. Maybe that's why she's a has been. If anyone should be arrested for being a plastic surgery victim, she surely fits the mark. I wish all these media personality would go straight to....OH, sorry! LOL

Joan Rivers makes me sick, I never liked her and I never will.

She doesnt need to be talking about anybody, she's just jealous and spiteful.
 
Trouble is with British TV you can say anything you like about someone just as long as you use the word 'allegedly' before it, which is what they did.

I'm not a big follower of Joan Rivers but suspected she does this kind of thing a lot. Yeah she said alleged for the druggie and ****phile part but not what she said about the photo being taken after he had passed and about Joe etc I read somewhere on Ofcom that in the broadcasting code they have to let the dead have dignity or something like that, this clearly breached this IMO.

I think Nancy Grace is the one who was caught dancing to MJ when she didn't know the camera was rolling or something like that. And she used to report sh*t about MJ. I think that's it, I could be wrong though.

They should've kept that hag out of the country. Congrats to the airport staff person who gave her what she deserved.

It is obvious that this woman has no respect for anybody and walks around thinking that she is internationally known when, in fact, she's not. Her entire life is composed of nothing but cheap remarks and, as they say, you are what you do. Her arrogance and delusions of superiority [or even adequacy] reflect in her demeanour. She just can't accept the fact that Michael is loved all over the world and she isn't.

She'll never be half the person he was.

I got a fright when I scrolled past that picture! Seriously, my heart jumped!

Ok calming down a bit now. I'll be on high alert for the next half hour!
