What I do appreciate about LaToya is her determination. She is wrong about quite a few things and often can speak more than needed and there are a lot of mind-boggling and exaggerated things she says, even blatantly false, but I can't judge her mental state after years of physical and mental and emotional abuse - one is bound to be shaken mentally, if not dead following this much ordeal, which I can't dismiss. A lot do, but fact is it existed, and such long-term torments and living hells are bound to make you unstable in certain ways. This book is very tacky, even beyond that... I do understand her need to get certain things off her chest and I will give her that. I don't agree, also, with her continuing to claim Murray was the scapegoat for her brother's death, and especially because there's a trial in September at the end of which he may very well walk free if more such claims are gonna keep on getting repeated - and he was in that room with her brother, and he overdosed her brother to death. Don't care about 'buttons' allegedly being pushed and what not... She should at least realize that this man, scapegoat or not, did administer those fatal doses to her brother and he was no child, but very greedy and allegedly an experienced cardiologist hired to take care of his very famous patient, and he did none of that that fateful night and day. ..
But what I will give her is that at least she is struggling and even fiercelessly so to defend her brother (in certain ways) - i.e. now, with firmly stating her brother was not delusional, not a drug addict (better late than never, I guess...), nor a loony or what not. I won't dismiss her conspiracy claims, because I know deep down, as well as others do that June 25 was not accident and not even if you try to convince yourself it was, you'll soon realize it couldn't have been. And just how much and how many would benefit from this death, and how disgusting his last months of life and out of control they were, that I wonder how he was able to still breathe... And by that, I hope ppl are not gonna say we're calling Michael a feeble, helpless kid anymore, because that's not what it's being said. It may be that LaToya is claiming that, but we're just sayin' how much he was tugged at from All sides.. and things.
I like it that she brought up more than suspect Randy Philips into discussion, that she stood up to these horrible interviewers from Good Day NY... notice how desperate they are to dismiss everything she says and so quick to even blatantly call her brother delusional, an addict and so on.. like, to her face. For her fierce approach, and for her now starting to sort of name names (like the people of his Estate, Philips) I even think she should be more careful, because those people are..or can be freakin' mental and dangerous, real mobsters that could stalk her and drive her crazy and maybe even do away with her, for getting this vocal lately. This isn't comedy relief, nor dramatization of facts.. She's at least getting better in some aspects that she's started to point out; no, I do not like many... many of her approaches, but again, I'll give her the above... and, I don't know.. Hope she's careful, the mass media themselves consist of organized criminals (through their mind control techniques and fallacies and exaggerations being put out...saliently so), a lot of heinous people out there that could do anything at all, like they did to Michael.
At this point, her determination means squat to me. Those bringing about horrible accusations against Michael in the past were determined and didn't always have the greatest life experiences either. I can't say how much in or out of control his last months were and I doubt she can either without repeating what she has been told by others. When Michael was going through his trial, I made a point of looking at what was known and basing my opinion from that (nothing to do with being an MJ fan that I believed in his innocence) and the same goes for now. Explain who has gotten more from his death than would have been gotten if he was still living. No one ever puts the money trail out there that everyone is supposed to be following. If Michael was so confused, helpless, and controlled, then how come an auction that was not wanted by him didn't happen anyway? Or how could he have hired or fired anyone if so controlled (remember he was so afraid of Thome supposedly yet he fired him? Doesn't match.). And how did this controlled man manage to get this huge promoter to spend all this money on putting together this concert when no one thought it was going to happen? Why didn't everyone just walk away if he was that incapable of performing?
I would never say there wasn't a conspiracy and something more than what we know of happened. However, as I have said from the beginning I think people are very narrowed in vision when it comes to motivations and suspects.
Whatever the portrayal of Michael the media runs with now based on LaToya . . . well, I'm through with blaming the media when those who supposedly knew him so well continue to throw the tidbits to the media.
