"Michael", a biopic about Michael Jackson, is officially happening.

No, I don't care why La Toya acted the way she did. I didn't see any bruises or blood on her. I have a brother and I would never do such a monstrous thing to him. What kind of excuse is this that your husband forced you?? How did he blackmail her? Divorce or money? The only reason I could justify her speech was because it was a real death threat to someone in the family. But I don't remember such a reason
Apparently, threatening to kill members of her family...

It wasn't that horrendous
Why do people like to exaggerate, when Quincy said "What can Michael teach him?". How exactly is that horrendous, what could MJ teach him singing and dancing? The guy was a musician/producer. MJ couldn't teach him anything he didn't know given his job. Also MJ was not God or perfect, Q would've seen his flaws and vice versa so the "horrendous" things Q said were his own opinions given their interractions which most of us fans never had.

Do yall have amnesia? Or is this once again one of those post june 25 fans who come in here read a couple of threads and post bs on twitter and think they know everything all of a sudden. Quincy HAS said HORRIBLE and BITTER things about Michael. Specifically about his skin and his surgeries. His opinions on Michaels talent was some bullshit and just that, his opinion, which of course stemmed from a bitter place. But the vile personal things he said were indeed horrendous.

It's silly talking about "true fans" and "new fans" anyway. MJ has only been gone 15 years, but he's still about to have the biggest biopic of all time.

Versus a Beatles, Elvis, Bob Marley, Freddie Mercury, Bob Dylan biopic, of artists with careers lasting over 60 years time and/or relevance, some of whom have been gone for nearly half a century and belonged almost solely to the elder generation, with far less crossover appeal. You should be glad MJ is beloved by young people, they will help him thrive forever.

If you're upset about the "new gen" now? When this film does gangbusters and it's a whole new wave, buddy, you'll be miserable. Have a great time.

This is really a fatal and false discrimination against the fans who found to Michael after his death in 2009. There are so many really well-informed fans who have acquired knowledge and invest a lot of time.
Well said.

Exactly this.

If people like the idea that Michael's legacy will stand the test of time and he will still be listened to 100 years from now, who will be listening to him at that time? People who aren't even born yet.

“I promise you in 50, 75, 100 years, what will be remembered is the music,” he wrote. “It’s no accident that almost three decades later, no matter where I go in the world, in every club and karaoke bar, like clockwork, you hear ‘Billie Jean,’ ‘Beat It,’ ‘Wanna Be Starting Something,’ ‘Rock With You,’ and ‘Thriller.’ In every language on the planet, from prison yards in the Philippines to Thrilltheworld.com, that will be the beautiful, grand legacy of Michael Jackson.”

Quincy Jones

As for biopic news, I don't think there's going to be any for a while. Online, people have been reduced to posting photos of Jaafar at a posh dinner party. 'The Madness' is out on Netflix and Colman Domingo has recently done a bunch of interviews. Not one of them asked about the biopic. I think they've all been told not to go there now that the film has been pushed back. So it's going to be pretty quiet, imo.

"Michael

If Elvis could reach $150+ million domestically, the mind staggers to think what a movie about Michael Jackson like Michael will do in October 2025. The King of Pop is coming to the big screen in what’s allegedly a flashy, crowd-pleasing fashion that’ll give audiences plenty of razzle-dazzle and reprises of their favorite songs. Jackson’s appeal as a musician was global. Michael is bound to similarly resonate globally, producing one of the year’s biggest hits in the process."

Jackson Estate take note. A complete unknown soundtrack release with Timothee Chalamet is an epic fail. Lip sync is the only way. Don’t be a flop

How do you know. The biopic is not out yet. But I agree I really want Michael`s singing voice not Jaafar`s in the biopic.

The album is on iTunes now. That would be a deal breaker for me, I wouldn’t even watch the film.

Maybe I'm missing the point, how is this related to the biopic?

It isn’t. It’s an example of what a disaster the Michael biopic would be if Jafaar is actually singing the songs instead of Michael Jackson. A complete unknown is a Bob Dylan biopic and the actor Timathee Chalemet is singing the songs instead of Bob Dylan.

Maybe Jaafar sings the songs everybody already knows a million times, or better still, they blend his voice with Michael's. He could sing backing vocals. Idk, just spit balling. I would prefer Michael vocals myself.

The recent Elvis Presley biopic had vocals by both the actor and the original Elvis. It did fairly well at the box office. It even had rap songs by acts like Doia Cat. Hip hop was still underground in NYC when Elvis was alive, it hadn't been officially recorded yet. All of the singing on the 3 night New Edition movie on BET were by the actors, a few who already were professional singers. It had high TV ratings.

What I want is for people to see Michael who have saw Betterman as everyone I'd talking about this and I thought it was good but not exceptional and definitely not in the same league as Greatest Showman as thats what a lot of people where saying! One thing I will say in the film Michael I really hope Jaafar plays him as a strong but humble person I know he was but no doubt had flaws in prescription drug addition and then also the reasons why he needed it.
Unlike Williams who just got high for the kick and to inflate his already huge EGO!
