Sources at the FBI have told Examiner.com that the federal law enforcement agency will declassify Michael Jackson's FBI files, and that the agency will make them available to the public within thirty-six to forty-eight hours.

Michael Jackson's FBI file contains 679 pages that were reviewed by the government agency. 333 pages will be released, leaving 343 pages of the late pop star's file to remain classified information. Those pages will remain secret.

The still classified documents about Michael Jackson consist of six files, the FBI told Examiner.com.

The FBI processed ninety-five classifications. The file emanating from FBI headquarters consist of several small files. There are seven files that comprise Michael Jackson's FBI documents.

The main FBI file for Michael Joseph Jackson is file number HQ 1148159. The Quantico file number is 252B-1R-6808. The LEGAT London file is 62-DLO-1179. The rest of Michael Jackson's FBI files are Los Angeles files. Their corresponding file numbers are 9A-LA-142276, 62-D-LA-236081, 62D-LA162715, 305B-LA-239204.

Sources at the FBI told Examiner.com that although they hope to have the file declassified by Tuesday, December 22, whether it will ultimately be done by that date is still not yet confirmed.

Due to the large number of requests that have been made to declassify Michael Jackson's files, the documents, compiled by FBI, will be made available via the internet. Michael Jackson's FBI file will be available for viewing online at the FBI's website when it is released.

Those wanting to read the MIchael Jackson FBI file will be able to view it is released by accessing it online at the agency's website. Viewers will be able to choose the "hot topics" link on the FBI website, which will take the reader to Michael Jackson's FBI file.

The FBI does not keep files on every citizen. However, the FBI has jurisdiction over crimes that consist of more than 200 categories of federal laws.

Jackson died on June 25,2009 in Los Angeles County, and was pronounced dead at UCLA Medical Center.

Law enforcement agents have been investigating allegations that the Jackson had been consuming painkillers, sedatives and antidepressants that may have contributed to his death at age 50. Law enforcement agencies including the federal Drug Enforcement Administration and California Attorney General Jerry Brown are helping Los Angeles police officers investigate the possible involvement of prescription drugs in Jackson's death.

what is the point of releasing only a part of it? release everything or nothing! cause now speculations by the haters are gonna be made of what is in the classified ones

It 's this part I'm worried about: (*looking for bold* lol)

"Due to the large number of requests that have been made to declassify Michael Jackson's files, the documents, compiled by FBI, will be made available via the internet."

Media requests?Tabloids?
And of course all eyes of the net surrounding Mike...

Does the FBI have files on the seemingly dodgy guys who hung around MJ?

The pages they are keeping, I suppose those are the pages that are actually helping out in the investigation, the real pages that we WANT to see.

^ true. do ppl really think they will release the true that we, the fans actually want everybody else to see?? if that makes sense to any of you...

Exactly Maria--large number of requests???? I'm sure that is mostly media, but what could possibly be the purpose in this release?? I am very concerned that this will not only damage Michael's image, but would also strengthen the theory that Michael was culpable in his own death. Who would this release benefit--AEG, SONY and the facilitators who aided in his murder?

The media will take any crap they can get and form it into their own story. I wonder if they even realize the FBI won't give them anything important, files that are actually helping with the investigation right now. (those more than 300 unreleased pages)

Right you are Kasume--anything regarding the investigation will not be released. Do you find it interesting that this POSSIBLE release precedes a POSSIBLE announcement from the LE investigation team that is said to occur in mid-January??? Avert media attention, portray Michael as an addict--especially in the event there are no charges brought? A better question is, can we even trust the verity of the information the FBI releases??? Call me skeptical.

Geraldo just said the files will be about child abuse allegations and Michael's stalkers.

But NOTHING having to do with the homicide investigation.

thats what i heard too, can,t remember where, but i read that all the extortion attempts that was made on michael were going to be made public, maybe this is what liz taylor meant when she said,or was it liza, can,t remember, when the truth comes out all hell is going to break loose,

I can literally see their special people hanging over the FBI site ready to eat it - just to squeeze everything they can, make up whatever is not there and turn it into a nice piece of garbage for their tabloids.

I agree

i remember someone saying that too, but i thought it was about the homicide investigation.

okay, i just looked it up. and liza said it about the autopsy results. "All those who knew him well really know what he was like, and I'm sure that now the accolades are going and I'm sure when the autopsy comes, all hell's going to break loose. So thank God we're celebrating him now."

in otherwords she was talking crap calling him a druggie

It's really sad that some of Mike's closest friends are addicts...
I wonder how trustworthy they can be.

I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking. But it was just a thought that popped into my head.

I really do not see any point in these released FBI files in helping us figure out the murder mystery. Does anyone think that one reason these files were suddenly released was to distract fans from the whole murder thing....and have their attentions swayed to something else besides the investigation?

Because seriously, I find these files have nothing to do with the murder investigation.

Well we knew the FBI wouldn't release anything having to do with the murder investigation, but I cannot figure out the purpose in releasing them at all and why NOW??? I do believe that it could be a distraction, if the LA DA does make a decision whether or not to charge anyone in mid-January. I just took a quick look at them, and feel there is nothing new in them. However, could it be that the media will run with this information, distort the truth? AEG is certainly a part of the media! Could this be an effort to sway public opinion against Michael again? Who would THAT benefit? IMO it won't distract fans, but it and the resulting media frenzy, may distract the general public. Here is an example of tabloid interpretation today:

We are getting absolutely no new news on what we really want to know about.

If I hear absolutely nothing new, not even a detail, by the end of January....
