The DVD looks pretty good upscaled on a ps3

If they wanted to the whole films could be re-scanned from the original prints of each days shot. there is any original print in MJ possesion. that would improve the clarity. I knew this wouldn't be done. the reason we have no new footage or making off is because warner would have to re-negotiate with the estate to get that, o it's cheaper to take a copy do some cmall cleaning and pop it on blu. coz fans buy this stuff.

Thats would be done only with major movies and it's done rarely or should i say never. No one would take that much effort to do such thing on a small movie like Moonwalker. It's not about negotiate with someone, fast cashing or not trying to do it right. it's just not worth it and expensive. One of the studios that spends alot of time is Disney on their movies. They take the best master they can find and remaster frame by frame.
No one does re-scann of original prints. It's done only with ooolllddd movies, whose masters are damaged. I think "gone with the wind" is done that way. For 80 years old movie it looks great on blu.
Come on guys get real.
Bigger movies like "Gladiator" and "Terminator" and etc. don't get such treatment and heve waaayy worst looking release on blu-ray. We have very good looking transfer. Corrected colors, no DNR, no over sharpening.

well, i prefer missing a little bit on the sides that i've never seen before anyway
to suddenly missing a big chunk at top + bottom.
this sucks big time and makes this release worthless for me.

Moonwalker will be remastered properly when they want to sell it properly. at the moment people will buy anything thats why they did it this way. cheap.

I'm in Canada, and I bought the Bluray from the UK amazon site! I got an email saying it's being dispatched today! :punk: Imma play it on my ps3 too!

Didn't see it in HMV today... Well, then again I was just browsing I didn't stay for long, I'll have to look again when I next go there, I can't wait to get it !! :)

I thought it was in stores from tomorrow (Thursday 3rd June)? Either way, a mid-week release is certainly unusual, even if it was a Bank Holiday on Monday.

You meant this deluxe edition in steelbook? I got an email, it says it was shipped today (when I was ordering it, it said they'll ship it on June 11th.)

Sometimes i didn't get an mail alert when they ship my items!:cheeky:

Maybe they have shipped it but had a system problem so you didn't got a mail!

I did but they say it hasn't been shipped yet:(

edit: They say it's going to be dispatched within the next 24 hours :)

edit2: I have bad news for all Steelbook orderers :( It seems like the FSK logo is PRINTED on the cover so you can't remove it -.-
Instead there's the cover without the logo on backside of the case. That's at least something but not as good as the TII Steelbook solution from Sony!

I don't remember exactly where I heard, but I recall someone saying that they tried it and it worked, which is why I went ahead and ordered it.

yes it's. jrc407 confirmed that for us. I also ordered a copy from HMV UK online and it works fine in my PS3. (Plus it took 10 days to get it from UK).

i got my steelbook edition yesterday. the pics in the booklet are only screenshots from the movie.
