Photo of TPain wearing Thriller jacket - enjoy!

I need exact replicas of the Thriller and Beat it jackets before I die, real talk.
Until then I have to be satisfied with my wannabe thriller jacket from Martin Margiela.

I'd love some black CTE shirts also, they're fly :)

EDIT: I think I should start taping my fingers with white tape also to push the "I'm-a-maniac-factor" haha ;)

EDIT 2: Bigger pics of T-pains jacket, which looks like shit.
With the money he makes, he could at least get himself a decent replica in the right size:

Yeah I think Margiela is really starting to get moving in the younger crowds after Pharrell (and Ciara) started to rock his clothes, his shades is so f!"¤"¤!ing cool also!

Here's the jacket

And a video is Pharrell rocking the jacket and throwing M&Ms, lol

I only think they're available in black with red stripes, and black with blue stripes... That the only ones I've seen so far. The jacket is in nylon also, not leather. But it has a great "quality feeling" over it.
I'm kind of glad that Martin Margiela didn't go all out and make an exact replica of the jacket in nylon, that would've just looked cheap.

damn, that is nice. i've never seen it before.. and i never knew the designer was getting some urban cred. that's cool and shitty at the same time, lol. the "mainstream" effect, i wanna try and get away from it as much as possible...

Hehe I TOTALLY agree with you, but if I have to be self critic it's like... If I'd never seen Pharrell wear that jacket I would've never known it existed. But on the flipside, when I saw Pharrell rock that jacket I wasn't like "yo Pharrell wears that, I need that also"... I was like "OMFG THRILLER JACKET!!!!" and I spent a week googling my ass off until I found out about the designer, then it took me over a month until I could find somewhere to put in my purchase. I had to import it from the UK to Sweden, loool.

But I know what you mean with the main stream effect, it's like BBC/Ice Cream. OK, they had some nice hoodies in the beginning or what not, but the latest seasons has look like shit, but the brand gets constant exposure buy celebs rocking it so the kids stay loyal to the brand even though the clothes ain't fly no more.
I'm not like that, I pick my favorites from different designers, no matter if it's a cheap or expensive one. I couldn't care less if it was H&M or Margiela that made that jacket, but the jacket would lose it's "shock value" if everyone could buy it for ~$50 at H&M.

But let's get over to MJ, I don't people even realize how much his appearance has to do with the success of his music. I mean like, when you see a white glow and hat, you instantly think of Billie Jean, it's like you can hear the music in your head. Michael is smart, he makes people visualize his music like that. He makes it ever lasting. Like Thriller, no one with the right mind could ever say that Thriller (both the song and album) would've ever been as big as it got if it wasn't for that short movie (and astonishing videos), and the whole flavor with that jacket and shit.
It's like, the Thriller movie gave everyone an extra sense to "see" how the Thriller album "looks" (in your mind that is), like how the "atmosphere" of the album is. It's almost like you can smell that jacket when you listen to his album, and smell the street in the Billie Jean video.
I know I might be weird like that, but at least I feel that way.
And Beat It, same thing there with the whole "West Side Story" inspired video, people see and almost taste things when they think of Beat It because of absolutely amazing music videos and props used in the videos, including wardrobe.

Fast forward today, 9/10 popular artists don't care to put out a proper video, just some green screen shit. I know I don't wanna put money in someone's pocket that don't care enough about themselves to open their pockets to bring out epic stuff.

(wow, this was a long post, I need to slap myself)

ah mate, 100% on the same wavelength. like this stuff is part of your identity.. same with music - so many muppets just listen to crap purely because it's been marketed to them correctly (by business, by artists, by their friends, peers etc. etc.). the **** is up with that?

best post of 2009. his fashion//image//style is so underrated or ridden off as wacky and that's it, without taking into account that 1. it's making you talk about him, and 2. it inspired 80% of the pop tarts you're a fan of. you muppets.

i said this before, but so many people are bland enough to want to go by a lifestyle that follows the 'norm' and they don't even know that there's no such thing. just sheep, lol. rids you of your identity.

we need more fashion threads.

check this one out if you haven't already:

off topic. I had found the vid to your siggy but i dont remeber where it was on youtube. Can someone help me. Im sorry but mike naughty. lol

please help

That sequence is from MJ's performance of "Working day and night" in Bucharest during the Dangerous tour! :)
I ripped it from the DVD concert, but I know for 100% that it's on youtube also! :)

arXter: I will check it out! We for sure need like a seperate topic to discuss the MJ fashion, he knows what he's been doing for yeeears. Like since Off the wall, even though the fashion was a bit toned down. (Check out the "Rock With You" video though, BAMM)
I mean like, even outside the stage, Mike used to rock varsity jackets, Mikey Mouse hoodies and stuff like that.
It's like now days the varsity jacket has become a timeless classic, but he didn't know about that 25 years ago or whatever. Now the last 5 years it has become cool to rock Mikey Mouse, Sponge Bob and what not... but like 25-30 years ago, he already knew about that.
But it's the essential things he was first with, the shiny glove, the Billie Jean jacket, thriller jacket, beat it jacket... the gaylooking golden bathsuit, the remember the time outfit, and so on and so on... he was first with all of that, and no one has to this day made anything that had a bigger "shock value". I don't matter if Mariah Carey or whoever will move into porn for the shock value, 1-2 years later it will be forgotten, just like Paris Hilton's porno. But it's amazing that a piece of clothing like the thriller jacket will be forever lasting... because it's timeless and it connects to the music.

Where can I get that margiela jacket?? :)

Hi, I'm from Sweden and I don't think you can get it anywhere here in Scandinavia. (the reseller in Stockholm didn't even know about the jacket, LOL)
I had to import mine from UK, I bought it from www.oki-ni.com but it's sold out now.
I know that the "official store" in London had at least 1 jacket left a month or two ago, but they don't ship out the clothes.
