This is only my opinion, but I think it's fine if she skipped the Gary tribute this year. The kids really do it for Katherine and it kinda looks miserable.
Standing in the yard or a receiving line so fans can yell at you for a selfie or autograph. They do a little show there, but it's not a big deal. Be different if the Cirque show was there or something.
I don't see the rest of the family trying to kill themselves to get there either. Tito went this year bc of his record, 3T went last year bc of their reality show, Latoya went the year before bc of her reality show.
If I were the kids I'd be going only out of duty.
Maybe if they were able to make this into an EVENT-like booking Thriller live in Roosevelt auditorium or even a High school production of the Wiz or Motown show. That would be a lot more fun than standing there being gawked at.
And on another note, it is hard for kids to grow up when they have all these "fans" telling them what to do. With just parents, it usually makes them rebel more (depending on the kid). I'll be happy when she decides to take her social media private and I'm glad she just has a Snoddy tattoo and not a baby.
