"For the building of Michael Jackson’s Childrens Hospital.



Most of you by now will have either heard, or heard of, Michael’s intoxicated recording played during the prosecutions opening in the trial of Conrad Murray. Most of you will have also picked up on the fact that even under the heavy influence of drugs, his first thought was for others as he described his desire to build a hospital for children.



Having listened to his heart-wrenching words, we, the fans, would like to make that dream of his come true.



It’s a huge project and one that will take years of patience, hard work, unity and support. Our first step is to understand what kind of support we can get from the fans for this project. Please only join this group if you have the strong desire to see this happen, AND if you can honour that desire by donating everything you can towards the project once it is fully underway.



For the record, I am only one fan amongst all of you. I have no grand position in the great scheme of things, but this idea has already planted it’s seed in my soul and I would give anything to bring it to fruition. I welcome help, ideas and alternative actions!

"We are all very well aware that this project is immense, with so many potential obstacles to overcome that at times it may seem daunting. There ARE legal and financial issues to be considered, there ARE permissions and approvals to be gained, there ARE location aspects to be discuss...ed and an untold amount of research to be carried out. This will be the hardest some of us have worked for a long time, including myself :) We must also bear in mind that this is a long-term commitment from each of us - hospitals aren't built in a day ;)



As much as I am keen for you all to discuss your ideas and plans and contribute equally, Iour first goal at the moment HAS to be gathering support from the fan base.



Without a large number of people backing the project from the beginning – well, there will be no project. All issues, concerns and questions will be thoroughly researched, in a structured and systematic manner, with all fans involved at all times. No decisions will be made nor progress made without group consensus. It is, however, imperative that we obtain the necessary level of support before this research is carried out to avoid time wasted.



It is easy to get carried away with what needs to be done, but in these first stages, we are all about spreading the word and collecting fans in droves so that we can accomplish our objectives and overcome those obstacles.

There will come a time soon enough when we will need ALL your help in a slew of different manners and please rest assured you will all be involved with this when the time comes.



In the meantime, we do still need you help... PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD!!

I have heard from a few fans that they are able to take on fund-raising projects to raise money for the hospital wheh donations begin. If this is something that you feel you can go, please do so. We'd love to hear about your efforts!!



Please also be sure to vote in the group poll as to the preferred location of the hospital. Again, be advised that this in only a preliminary poll to assist with reseach into costs and authorizations.



Thank you all so much for being here - I truly hope that we get the fan support we so badly need to fulfil this dream of Michael's. He gave us his world, it would be so good to give something back. For him. HIS dream.

I dedicated my entire life to Michael and his beautiful, powerful, and extremely worthy mission of bringing L.O.V.E. , peace and harmony to our world and its inhabitants ever since I was touched by his Light almost 20 yeras ago. I was a kid then and he became my eternal inspiration to help heal the world. Ever since then, I've been doing all I can to do him proud, to spread his message of L.O.V.E and make people realize the absolute greatness of Michael Jackson-not only as the ultimate artist but also (and more importantly) as the unparalleled humanitarian and human being he has been, blessing our world and our lives in infinite ways!

Since a long time, it had been my dream too to help Michael build something like this and in my heart I was sincerely hoping that someday soon we could start working on it...

Please count me in. I support this cause with all of my heart and soul and I know that we-Michae's Army of L.O.V.E can definitely make it a reality, fulfilling his wish and doing him proud!

This is a wonderful idea and the most important thing, aside from fulfilling Michael's wishes, is that the children will benefit from it.

My big concern is the cost. Land, building, equipment, staff, insurance,etc. all that cost money. How could this be done? If the estate gives a hand that would be a big help. The idea is great and it'll be beautiful if it can be done. How about a hospital on wheels for children?
 
This is so lovely. He always was thinking of others. I can't wait until I stay in Los Angeles next year so I can see some of the sights which are related to him, and maybe even meet some of the people that he has helped.

This is wonderful and they are doing this right. Making sure it is planned properly and seeking
to get approval from the estate to work with them. This is not an overnight endeavour. But First
They need support they need fans to pledge support for this dream. please share this on your social
networks - The more people joining the more serious it will be taken.

This project was founded and created by Michael Jackson. As his last recorded wish, it falls to us, the fans, to see it come true. Our legacy to him and his family.


The Facebook initiative began when one member asked the simple question on Facebook "Wouldn't it be good if we could do this for Michael?". The group began with one aim, and one aim only - to find out definitively how much support this idea had within the MJ community. Within the space of a week the group had grown to over 1000 members, each member truly avid in their desire to see this come to fruition and play their part in the ultimate tribute to someone we dearly love.


During this week a small team was built up to administrate the group and also begin the monumental task of researching HOW to go about this. Preliminary meetings with lawyers were scheduled to discuss our options and take legal advice as to our position. Discussions were held with accountants as to the options we had regarding the setting up of an official company or charity.


Most importantly, estate contact was made to clarify our situation with them, and to ensure that we did not encroach upon their duties in the protection of Michael's name and intellectual property.


Once a response is received, we will be in a better position to consider our next steps. Members of this initiative will be updated every step of the way.


One of our major concerns is how to make this a financially viable project - accountable, transparent & trustworthy. If this is to be done, it absolutely must be done correctly. This is the reason that no money or donations of any kind are currently being taken. The only thing that we are asking of people at the moment are pledges of support.

I am the Australia country representative for the project. :D Pages for each nation (and state, for the US) are set up or in the process of being set up. On the main group page you will find a document which lists the representatives for each country. There are still many countries who require representatives so if your country (or US state) still requires one please see the group page and documents and contact mjch@mail.com to express your interest.

At this stage the group is primarily seeking as many pledges of support as possible. The more fans we have on board as supporting the project the greater the likelihood we will have maximum impact. At this stage we are not in any way seeking monetary donations as we are seeking to establish a dialogue with the Estate at the present time.

If you would like to help, I would encourage you to do the following:

1. Send an e-mail with your name and country to mjch@mail.com. It only takes a minute and you will be added to the growing list of fans on our website (yay!)
2. Go to Facebook and 'like' the page for your country/US state. At present this is one method through which country reps get in touch with members of their country and also can receive suggestions, questions and feedback about how to promote the project in their local area (also, see the main group document for e-mail addresses for country reps - for Australia this is mjchaustralia@gmail.com).

This is the most incredible project and we are dedicated to seeing this dream come true for Michael. We are honoured and privileged to have the support of every single fan across the globe.

The major developments in the project so far are as follows:

Recently an incorporated company entitled Michael's Dream Foundation was set up in the United Kingdom by the administration team. This will ultimately be the registered legal entity which accepts donations for the building of the hospital - when the time comes. For now, MJCH does not accept monetary donations (only non-monetary pledges of support from fans). This aspect of the project will not commence until a future time. (You can view the certificate of incorporation on the Michael Jackson's Children's Hospital Facebook page.)

This is the official statement from the MJCH admin team:

We are excited to announce that the MJCH now has its official identity in the name of Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation. Please see below the confirmation of this, and our company registration details.

The Foundation will be the legal entity that raises funds for the MJCH. Please note, we are still not currently accepting or asking for donations, as there are some steps to be completed yet before we are comfortable doing this, not least of which is a wonderful new website which will also include all the company details and terms and conditions.

On a further note, a couple of people have inquired as to why we&#8217;re not asking the Estate to do this. we will clarify once again that we have asked the Estate and politely informed them of what we wish, as a fan base, to achieve. Their lack of response has led us to continue with this effort as a fan initiative, partly because we believe that this would be the greatest gift we could give to someone that gave US everything, rather than campaigning for someone else to do it. Let&#8217;s assume that there IS no-one else to do this &#8211; let&#8217;s assume that it starts with us. Whether the Estate or family come on board at a later date or not, we would very much like to see the fans contribute towards this &#8211; Michael was ours too. We owe him this.

And we&#8217;re almost there.

A logo for the Foundation is in the process of being selected - all fans have an opportunity to participate! Over 40 logo designs were submitted by dedicated fans around the world and one will be chosen as the logo for Michael's Dream Foundation. The entries can be viewed here:

Voting closes this Sunday, December 4 2011. The idea is that each fan 'likes' up to 5 of their favourite entries. The 5 with the most votes from fans will then go into the second round of voting by the MJCH team, who will select the winning logo.

As noted before, MJCH is now live on the MJTP site (see previous post) and I am hoping to have an article on the project published in an upcoming edition of Dot to Dot Magazine (pending approval).

These are early but exciting times - it feels good to be a part. <3

"I spend a lot of free time, on California and when I'm traveling, visiting children's hospitals. It makes me so happy to be able to brighten those kids' day just by showing up and talking with them, listening to what they have to say and making them feel better. It's so sad for children to have to get sick. More than anyone else, kids don't deserve that. They often can't even understand what's wrong with them. It makes my heart twist. When I'm with them, I just want to hug them, and make it all better for them. Sometimes sick children will visit me at home or in my hotel rooms of the road. A parents will get in touch with me and ask if their child can visit with me for a few minutes. Sometimes, when I'm with them I feel I understand better what my mother must have gone through with her polio. Life is too precious and too short not to reach out and touch the people we can". MDF MJCH Updates

As this project and company continue to grow, we will try to summarize everything for you every few months so you are kept up-to-date on where things stand. Here is where we are as of today:

Project updates

· Our pledge count is currently at approximately 3300. This number includes various groups, websites, fan clubs, VIP&#8217;s and, of course, the public and fans. Roughly 95% of these pledges have indicated they are also willing to donate to the cause at a later date.

· We have recently opened our official MDF (Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation) store, in association with Zazzle.com, primarily to help cover the administrative costs of starting and operating a new non-profit, and so far the response has been positive! A portion of the profits from this store will go into an account specifically for the MDF&#8217;s charitable purposes as well. For exact percentages, please visit the FAQ&#8217;s page on our website.

· Our research team is fully underway in gathering info to determine not only the best way to improve the psychological health of ill children, but in what areas of the world we need to focus our efforts.

· We have recently merged many of our Facebook pages into regions to, not only consolidate but, to free up many of our representatives to allow them to take on other tasks while working as a team to maintain their social networks. · Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation fully respects and adheres to all copyright, trademark and intellectual property laws, therefore all of our Social Network pages have been renamed to Michael&#8217;s Children&#8217;s Hospital in an attempt to avoid any potential conflicts with the Michael Jackson Estate or his family.

Company updates

· All of the paperwork for Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation&#8217;s 501(c )3 tax-exempt status has been finalized and will be submitted to the federal government within a few days. Once submitted, it could potentially take 6-12 months to receive an approval. Best case scenario is one month for a reply. Fingers crossed!

· Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation is in search of an angel that is willing to invest in our cause; to provide the company with seed money to be able to sprout real roots and grow. If you, or anyone you know, would be interested in gifting a sum of money as a non-deductible investment, please contact Christine at admin@michaelschildrenshospital.com

· Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation is also in search of another 501(c )3 organization that may be willing to fiscally sponsor us while our own federal status is pending. If you or anyone you know would be willing to help us in that area, please contact Christine.

Project Update February 1st, 2013

With a brand new year upon us, we wanted to give you an update of where Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation stands and where it&#8217;s going in 2013. 2012 was a big year for us and we are expecting 2013 to be even bigger and better!

On November 26, 2012, we announced our very first project to help children. At the time, however, we were unable to give a lot of finite details of the project, but now that things are progressing so well and our plans are confirmed, we can now give you the full details! We are also able to confirm that we have raised enough money to completely fund the Gary project, so THANK YOU to all who have donated up until now!

Michael&#8217;s Dream Boxes & the Gary Project

On February 14th, 2013 (Valentine&#8217;s Day) a small group of representatives from Michael&#8217;s Dream Foundation will travel to The Methodist Hospital located in Michael&#8217;s hometown of Gary, Indiana. They will be taking with them a collection of Michael&#8217;s Dream Boxes which YOU helped to assemble by making your donations. The Dream Boxes will contain a variety of toys and games for the children in the children&#8217;s ward of the Methodist Hospital, including (but not limited to):
