Thanks for this WBSS21, yes Celine is truely amazing. You are so lucky to have seen her in Vegas I would love to have gone. They aired one hour of the show on TV here in the UK not long ago and it was brilliant, she sang pretty much the same songs as she did at her Wembly concert here and she was super fantastic in that. It's kinda weird seing this thread today cause this morning I was in HMV and I was looking at her limited edition box set, it was designed by herself and it's contents were..her latest album a dvd of her Vegas show and a 5oz bottle of her latest perfume lol. I struggled with myself for a minute but then I put it down cause it was £29 and I have a vet bill to pay lol, There was only one so if it's there on Friday I'll buy it. You're right though, she has an amazing voice and got one heck of a pair of lungs on her, Thanks for posting the 'Prayer' as well :wub:.
 
I'm not actually a fan, but I love many of her songs :wub: She's got a great voice :wub: And I think she's really a nice person :punk:
But her Bad performance is hilarious :rofl::rofl:

You either love her or hate her, but if you claim she can't sing, then your just in horrific denial.

I liken it to Michael almost. You can talk as much trash as your heart desires, but if you saw her perform live, unles you had your ears clogged up, I don't see how you couldn't be impressed.

I recommend her new album rita.gibson. It's really fantastic. Different from her other stuff, because she takes on more of a rock edge in it, but she pulls it off with ease. She can sing in just about any genre. And yeah litia, she is a nice person. People don't like her because they think she's a square or they get turned off my her stage performance, which is actually good, imo. But her voice is one of a kind, she has incredible range, control and she emotes, like arXter said. I don't see any reason to hate her, unless you hate power house singers in general, or are jealous of her talent, lol. She never hurt anybody. I'm going to go see her again in November, so that's exciting.

OK, technically she may be a great singer, but I cannot stand her voice or the way she's singing, these overly dramatic vocals are just making me cringe. She has no feelings for fine nuances in music. There is something about her whole appearance and performing that I cannot stand.

That's fine, you don't have to like her.

She's amazing though. It takes a lot to impress me, but she does. She sings numerous songs in which she sings subtly and her voice sounds wonderful, like on her cover of "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" or "Nature Boy".
 
No feelings for fine nuances in music? She may not be a beauty queen, and one may not like her voice; that I can understand. But Céline is all about fine nuances.

I don't like Celine, her voice annoys me, and her music isn't any better, either.
 
she has a powerful voice no doubt.. But I do have to say I get sick of her voice fairly quickly..

To me she's exactly the same in every song...

it's just she's not my 'style' I guess, she does not strike me for some reason.. And to me she does sound the same.. I guess it's the styling of what she does with her voice that kind of distracts me..

IDK if I can really explain it but there is some specific things with her voice.. (though it sounds vocaly good) and nothing technically wrong with it.. I just lose my love for it right when she does this "SOMETHING".. IDK exactly how to explain it.. it's not her tone itself, but the technique she uses to pull out the tone.. (there is like 3 different parts) this happens in ALMOST every song I hear from hers..

It's really hard to explain, because I cannot argue she's not a good vocalist.. lol! because she IS..


It's that same SOMETHING that impersonators on comedy shows do... She does it even SOMETIMES when she talks...

U know how some people just have an OFF way when they sing.. Even cher has (not that same SOMETHING) but has A SOMETHING.. loL!



I guess all I can say is when she does this SOMETHING I am talking about, it just takes me off course in enjoying it.. It's like throwing a pencil in a well running machine..
