I'm supposed to write a control panel that updates a website in ASP in one day, yes.

^ Well...what can i say...
I wish u all the best for u assignment, orangeman! :flowers:

A random truth for programmers: After months of training, when you finally understand all of a programs commands, the new revised edition arrives with a new set command structure....Still Microsoft Rules!

PHP is free, requires no stupid license to run, has web administration tools, comes with better MySQL support than ASP and is much easier to understand than the quite frankly, bloated, pathetic, resource heavy, insecure crap that Microsoft built.

I wish people would stop using ASP (as people are doing more and more) and use PHP instead.

Its not an assignment in the college sense of the word, if it was then I simply wouldn't do it and would be able to get full help. :( SUCKS TO BE ME TODAY.

^I know...but i will just say one thing...orangeman...try to look at asp with a view that it is more than just a VBScript! :)[/b]

Its crap, thats how I look at it. Nothing more or less.

Why on earth would I *ever* want to code something in ASP when I can do it 10 times faster in PHP?

Chaos' new nunchuks :D

Ello Angel.

Yep, I'm a PHP developer and have been for ooh 6 years. I got lumbered with helping a company with an ASP project (despite the fact I've never touched it and they know it) and I've told them again that I'm having trouble and that they would have to finish the system themselves (they're a TEAM of TRAINED ASP developers for god sake!) but nope, "see what you can do" was the reply.

GRRR.

God, what a bunch of idiots!!! :banghead Yeah, I read your earlier posts :( I don't get them though, it makes no sense risking a less well done job by you instead of doing it themselves :banghead (unless you're a pro and they know you're capable of doing it :D )

However you put it though, it still sucks :( Are you working as we speak? :(
